A very grey Doc Oc.
People hated this set when it was released. Honestly for all of Lego's modern problems, I'd take any of them over a return to... Oh wait this set was only $30? Wow that looks like a bargain now! :P
Why does Iron Fist sound more like a villain name?
I remember getting this for my 8th birthday and being blown away by how large it felt and the Iron Fist minifig. Good times.
Lego designers…brilliant but lazy
One of the few early LEGO Marvel sets that I didn't get. Bought Iron Fist separately.
No regrets, I would say.

The power of the Iron Fist... in the palm of my- wait a sec
The fact that the old TIE Fighter windshield piece was still around in 2012 warms my heart.
As much as I love some of the movie-based sets, I wish Lego would do comics-based sets again.
I remember getting this because it was the only set with Spider-man from the first year of Marvel Super Heroes. Kinda wish I waited for the Bugle instead, but this wasn't terrible.
I like sets with builds like these. Cheap, and with an interesting scene going on.
All he's got to do is remove those two giant screws in the guy's belly, and that rack of arms will fall right off his back.
That hair looks VERY weird for Otto, which is the main thing that made me displeased with this set during its run. I assume it's based on a particular comic run, but the idea of him having long black hair like so is alien. Maybe it's a look from some point in the Ultimate universe, I'm pretty sure 616 Otto never looked like this, or maybe since Iron Fist is here, was this the era of that Ultimate cartoon (recycled names are fun) and it's derived from that version?
Looking at the parts, I think you have enough material to turn this into a plane, some sort of space hip maybe...

yeah this was based off of the cartoon
These weird builds of laboratories are actually quite cool. Because you would break it down and use the bricks for own builds. Sets right now sometimes are so well-designed that you won’t dismantle them because they already looking so darn good.
At the time it came out i didn’t like the set though, so i never got it.
@purpledave the legs will work on its own when separated from his body.

Technically I think this is based of the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon that Disney put out a while back though as I never watched it I couldn’t tell you for sure
I actually might seek out this set now, it's seems alright and I really like the doc ock design.

this is what I associate with that name: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Iron_Fist_ (Executor-class)
I don't remember exactly why I bought this set, but I liked it. the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon had its ups and downs, Doc Ock was a bit odd, but as for the minifigure, although accurate to the show with black hair, he looks way better when you swap it to Dark Brown Destan hair. Still not what most would expect for the character, but it just looks better because it's not as monotone.
This was the first Spider-Man set since the movie sets. Pretty exciting at the time, but I'm glad I waited for better ones

In the old Star Wars books it was the name of Warlord Zsinj's Super Star Destroyer.

So you’re saying this set is great because it’s not?
The MCU has well and truly ruined this theme.
Well, maybe there would no longer be this theme without the MCU.

Exactly! Although it sounds weird if you say it like that.

I have a penchant for doing that.

Yub yub, commanders.
Annoys me so much that the first Super Heroes sets used the 68xx set numbers that were originally exclusive from the Space theme. That one for example sits between two Classic Space sets, 6872 and 6874. It is bizarre and shows how much of a mess the numbering was back then.
It's a spooky laboratory with a mad scientist, so I quite liked this set. Never got it. And as noted above this was a return to Spider-Man. I like how there's actual height to allow Spidey to swing around and to crawl on things.
Not that it's an amazing lab or anything and I don't care much for the source material. It's a bit drab and there's not much there. But it reminds me a bit of the 2002-2004 Spider-Man sets, so that's nice.
Damn I'm late to the party. This random set of the day is a funny coincidence. In the past week I looked at it a couple of times wondering why we don't get more villain-centric sets. Instead of the fifth Spider-Man lair (which is a nonsense concept) or a Spider-Man car/bike/mech (more nonsense concepts) why don't we have a single Green Goblin lair? Or a lizard sewer lab? Or a Prowler car? Or a Kraven the Hunter poacher truck? Another great example of this kind of set is 76059 in which they gave Doc Ock a Metal Gear. Brilliant concept. This whole thought concept started because of how much I loved 4856 as a kid.
