Batman! You've ugh, changed.

A design so great the Lego Batman Movie didn’t need to redesign him.

Remember when LEGO DC used to make fun and interesting minifigs?

By in United States,

When I moused over the figure number I saw that I had this figure, and wondered what I had it in. I knew I had 8833-11, but didn't think I had any actual Man-Bat figures. I'd forgotten that he came in 70905. Side note: More superheroes named after animals should have enemies with the same naming pattern as this guy. Man-Ant, Girl-Squirrel, maybe even Man-Animal. Has there already been a Man-Spider? I can't remember. Or maybe even create some heroes to oppose animal-named villains. Man-Mole comes to mind.

FR, they need to go back to just throwing in whatever random heroes and villains they could pluck out of the DC canon into their sets. Nowadays it's nothing but 18+ Batmobiles.

Where are my King Shark and Orca bigfigs :-(

Batman and the Joker, Batman and the Joker, Batmobile, 4+ Bamoblie, 18+ Batmobile. That's all DC is these days. What happened to cool sets and minifigs like Man Bat?

Man-Spider is what they called him when Peter had the 6 arm mutation.

Yet another reminder that DC needs its own minifig category.

They may not have, but I certainly did. I made a Man-Bat with the legs from the S4 Werewolf, and I think the bat-armed torso from Monster Fighters, to recreate Man-Bat as he appeared in the premiere episode of B:TAS.

I knew that that had happened, but had forgotten that it came with a renaming. Or maybe it didn't happen in the storyline I'm familiar with, because I'm pretty sure it's happened more than once.

I think it was when he went full on humanoid spider, not just the extra arms.

This guy’s winged arm pieces have gotten a surprising amount of mileage.

@Maxbricks14: "What happened to cool sets and minifigs like Man Bat?"...I blame when TLG 'shrank' DC and Marvel under one umbrella, and then started...'pumping' out Morbid's left, right, and center and cutting DC's stuff off at the n...er, 'knees' (yeah, that's the ticket). Thought there was some traction via the DC CMF...but we have YET to get a second run (which frankly, is BULL...no, just bull.).

Hopefully the Superman Mech will 'move a needle', and maybe...juuuust maybe; TLG will leeeeearn from say Todd McFarlane Toys and...HE'S MADE GEO FORCE FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!! AND CAPTAIN CARROT!!!! AMBUSH BUG!!!!!!...(breathe, breathe, calm, calm...)...Bottom Line: If Todd can do it, TLG has NO EXCUSES not to...

@brick_r: I wish they'd do another series of DC CMFs too. As well as another Looney Tunes series. Would love another D&D series, too

By in Canada,

@TheOtherMike: Not 'big' on D&D (dropped out when 2nd was becoming 3rd...and other reasons:)); but, yeah...we need an Elmer, a Sam, Leghorn...Gossamer :)...but even beyond CMFs, where's 'my' (by which I mean DC/Lego fans):
-Hall of Justice?
-Fortress of Solitude?
-Watchtower?
...We've had HOW MANY Morbid building/playsets, and all we've gotten on the other-side is 'Bat Caves' and a NOT-Wayne Manor...the scale isn't 'tipped', it's BROKEN:|

They made a white/khaki version afterward in 76160. I haven't gotten around to getting thst set or fig, but they're on my wanted list.

I'd still be playing D&D (and other assorted roleplaying games) if I hadn't had my stroke. And Lego does more playsets than Batcaves. Sometimes they do an Arkham Asylum, too!

@brick_r:
Heh. I'm reminded of when he was getting his toy company off the ground, and they decided to produce a line of non-IP horror action figures. They got reviewed in Toy Fare Magazine, and they looked high quality, with amazing deco. Then I saw one in the store, and almost choked with laughter. The deco looked like it was applied by the other guy's drunk and sleep-deprived cousin. But even worse than that, one of the arms had a clean break in it, like someone had cut it off with a saw.

@brick_r:
3rd was such a huge improvement over 2nd, just on the fact that THAC0 is the worst game mechanic in the history of TTRPGs. I say that having never played the actual published version of 3rd (or 3.5, or 4th). 5th felt pretty similar to what I remembered from playtesting two unpublished versions of 3rd. I just got to try out 5th a few weeks ago, as part of a multi-national session that successfully broke the previous record of 1200 people playing in the same game simultaneously. Unfortunately, I still haven't heard what the new record is. We collectively did around 19,000 damage to a 17,000hp lich. But the building I'd most like to see is a Modular-compatible GCPD.

@StyleCounselor:
The white version was based on his Rebirth appearance. They did a bunch of New 52/Rebirth costumed minifigs for a bit.

@TheOtherMike:
I'd think TTRPG would be a manageable pasttime after a stroke. Video games, either the software developer or a hardware developer needs to very specifically create a one-handed solution in an industry that assumes everyone has two functional hands. In a TTRPG, you set your own pace, you only need one hand to roll dice (or you can use a dice-rolling app), and just about anything you might need to do there's already some sort of aid that's been developed.

@Ridgeheart:
It's using the wing and hat molds, sure, but the deco is exclusive to DC's Man-Bat character.

@PurpleDave: The problem isn't in the playing, it's in the getting to the games. I had to move back in with my elderly parents, neither of whom drive after dark.

Ah, right. You've talked about this enough that I get the impression that you're not driving anymore, so I guess that leaves three other options. Taxi/ride-share would get pretty expensive, even if you're only doing it once a week. Otherwise, you'd need to work out an arrangement with someone in the gaming group, or someone in your social circle.

The vast majority of my TTRPG experience was in college, so travel frequently just involved taking the elevator to the basement. When that didn't work, there was almost always someone living in the same building who I could catch a ride with, or the one summer when I had a tiny apartment and hosted the game because I was the only one without a car.
