Need that Donut truck! That ramp also looks like it would be a good start for an overpass!

By in United States,

My oh my is there a lot less space sets :'(

All the vehicles look really good though! Me 10 years ago would have loved some of this stuff.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've been waiting for a black cockpit piece to come out forever. (Can't recall seeing one before this year.)

Just wait. There is a big space set coming in January, but not from CITY!

By in Netherlands,

Whoa! That soapbox racing line is really cool (although the small sets only made real sense to me after seeing 60460...), as well as the Donut truck. Cool they are keeping the "put the stall somewhere" format of the burger truck. Hope to see more of those.

Also cool to see the sheep again, and the camper is (to me) one of the best yet!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well, I like Airplanes, and I also like Hospital Beds.
But which is better?
There's only one way to find out.....

FIGHT!!!!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Play wise the 60462 set will be awesome for kids. Really gives me that old Matchbox Connectables vibe :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

So excited for that spaceship. Loved this year's Space theme, so the fact that they're not just continuing it but also expanding it (with new Futuron-inspired color-coded jumpsuits for the astronauts) is very exciting to me. The ship itself looks fun and unique too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The spaceship reminds me a lot of 7315, great to see the ship+base functionality return.

And I absolutely love those racecar packs. "Airplane vs. Hospital Bed" is an incredible concept and set title.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oooh, more modular space stuff. Might have to get it to see how well I can fit it with the ones I already have

Gravatar
By in United States,

60459 sounds like the punchline of a dark joke lmao

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Another one of those more of the same waves, except the doughnut truck, the camper and the spaceship which are very good.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

That new bonnet piece on the off-road truck looks great!

Gravatar
By in United States,

60460 Do I see elevated roads so I can have hills in my city? Not that I couldn't do it with other parts, but I like that this is a new set.
Aside of that, I am liking that we can have little soap box racers. Real fun idea

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sunroofs! Sunrooves?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Remix set looks interesting.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Set 60452 has the same mechanic to remove the stand as the burger truck! Hell yeah!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The chamois leather in the sports car set is a nice touch.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Might not be the best line for AFOLs (there are some exceptions) but boy the kids will have such a good time with those.

I'm normally a classic space guy but this spaceship 60446 is excellent. You have a fairly large spaceship which can split in a smaller ship and a space base - best combo possible. I might even consider buying it as another sentient race visiting my classic space port. (I bought a few small space sets in 2024 even thought they were not classic space for the same reason: another race/faction visiting)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Space! Looks fun.

Spaceship, SPACEship, SHACESHIP!

It's not the first set like this, they had some racing vehicles (including a speed boat) from Lego 4k that had similar functions. And then some of the garages also had cards that could switch fronts/backs.

I really like that they're doing more, it's a very Lego idea, and even as adults it's pretty fun to fiddle around with those vehicle parts!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like that 60448 has a trubk. How often do we see those on minifig-scale cars?!

And 60460 has the same mechanic as 60389.

That spaceship! With uniforms clearly referencing Futuron!!! I claimed this year that 2024 City Space could be called Futuron II, and 60446 Modular Galactic Spaceship clearly confirms it. I’m happy now, this will be instabuy without waiting for any discount :-)

Were Futuron spacemen having different arm colours? I can't remember.
EDIT: I just checked - they did not. I.e. both arms the same colour.

Indeed, they did not. But we have to allow for some evolution. The torso print is a reference good enough

Lego soap box cars?!?!

Gravatar
By in United States,

To me, the galactic spaceship doesn't really have the magic of the old ones, and I think it's because it's not in a specific IP. A lot of the magic for me as a kid was the world it took place in. Ice Planet, Blacktron 2, M-Tron, Spyrius, etc - the world informed the look so much. City as a theme having that kind of space ship just seems too vanilla and uninspired.

I still haven't seen photos... c'mon, Lego! Show us!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks like a great lineup of sets for city! I love the new camper, spaceship, and aeroplane vs hospital bed. All of the sets look pretty reasonably priced, even the 4+! I cannot be the only one who first thought the driver was holding bread in 60448, right? It took me longer than I would like to admit to realize why he was sticking bread into his trunk.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Finally, some clear photos for the soap box derby sets!
Forget F1, these are the type of racers for me!

At first glance I thought it was like the Red Bull Soapbox Race, one car going for the best time.
So it's nice to see you can do some head to head racing too.
Perhaps a four lane setup like 3Dbotmaker racing is also possible.

Already had the Derby sets on my wish list.
Now I have a Modular Galactic Spaceship to consider!

The position of the thumb tab on the back of 60459 is perfection to show how you can make the propeller spin.

Airwolf!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Why a Pamela Anderson lookalike figurine is absent from the lifeguard truck? (Yeah, I know it's a kidstoy but...)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I can't wait for the spaceship. I believe the last Galaxy/Galactic flagship space set was Galactic Titan, more than ten years ago! The spaceship should work well together with the existing sets. Very pumped for the giant transparent radar dish. I know there have been some before, but that must have been a loooong time ago.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A lot of great stuff here. Not much for me for my specific tastes, but some definitely great sets. Scrapyard and the derby sets stand out to me (despite being "more Lego cars, the only thing they do more than mechs"). I can see myself gifting the derby sets.

It feels weird seeing Space still going as a City sub-theme. I guess they're trying to not overdo it? It's an appealing set for sure.

By in Japan,

New prints on the Space torsos? I'll prolly get the ship but disappointed the large end module was not the T-Intersection we had been hoping for to expand on the previous sets. The line desperately needs an official T intersection, this would have been the perfect keystone to a sprawling space base given how many modules we got this year alone.

Gravatar

When did they stop giving vehicles license plates? They look strange without them IMO.

By in Finland,

These are all amazing. The spaceship is just as long as any of the classic pre-1999 Space flagships, in particular the 6984 Galactic Mediator, so it's a true successor to that grand old line. I love the sunroofs and the hood and winch of the 4x4 off-roader, and I'm really happy that the 4x4 off-roader, the 4x4 beach truck, and the camper van all have side-by-side seating up front. (So does the spaceship!) Side-by-side seating is the best!

I like the new ship, so agree to disagree, but I think fair point on the theme identity crisis. I think LEGO has been having that problem in general…Botanicals are now Icons…modular buildings are now Icons. I like the 2024 City Space sets more than most City Space sets from recent years. They are a little more sci-fi compared to the rocket/launchpad stuff typically offered in City Space. Ten years ago, these 2024-2025 sets would have been their own space theme. I guess LEGO is less than confident in releasing new non-licensed themes that don’t come with a huge marketing push (e.g. Dreamzzz), so these ended up as “City Space.”

Looks like a combo. The 2x2 logo tiles, 1x2 battery tiles, and the transparent HUD panel we’ve already seen in the 2024 sets as prints are still prints. But boo stickers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know why Lego can't seem to make a decent minifigure-scale helicopter anymore, but that modular galactic spaceship is a day one purchase - looks like the best of all the recent City Space sets.

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

60446 is long overdue. It has been a while since we had a spaceship with a decent space station which can be detached and left behind on the surface like 6980 and 6985.
Now, we wait to see if there is going to be a mid-sized transport spaceship to match the classic trio 918 (60430), 924 (???), and 928 (60446).

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

I agree. We need connecting corridors for the modules. Gone are the days when a minifig could traverse from one end of the ship to another, e.g. 6985.

Gravatar

I agree we need those intersections as connecting corridors for the modules. Nice modules, but no way to connect them all and allow minifigs to traverse from one module to another.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

While the spaceship is cool, the rest is just meh. Way too many vehicles and too little "City". Where do all the minifigures live and charge/fill up their cars? The construction and farming subthemes have been also heavily neglected. The inclusion of a few lost sheep won't make it right. But at least it's not a whole wave of police and firefighters.

By in Turkey,

I don't know about mixing but that helicopter, submarine and fire truck set looks nice. Space ship is also awesome (though I had to build my own capital ship becasue there weren't any in the first wave).

Also, finally the sun roof piece (Hood piece in some cases I guess). A bit large, but it will work.

Spaceship is the only real must have. The lab with pizza fabricator and new clear roof looks cool. See they have added the post boxes on the outside for nostalgia. Interesting to see how well the karts fly off the top of the ramp, with the curved section at the bottom could come in useful.

60446 is certainly eye candy, but I'm not super impressed with the parts and build, which I suppose is only to be expected from a set with a 7+ age range.
