Explore the Spider-Verse exclusive Spider-Man minifigure revealed!
Posted by CapnRex101,LEGO Marvel Spider-Man Explore the Spider-Verse was revealed on Amazon last year and more images of the cover are now available, showing the unique minifigure included.
This is Cyborg Spider-Man, based on a 1992 comic book in which Peter Parker is injured and then enhanced with cybernetics.
Ironically, the minifigure pictured on the cover has a misprint, but you can view a larger image below...
Do you think this is a good choice for an exclusive minifigure? Let us know in the comments.

The official image has a misprint?? How does that happen?
New low for Lego quality control. And it's already been so so low...
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I hate to be one of those guys who complain whenever lego makes a less-than-adequate product, but "Only the best is good enough" my ass lol
Also yes this comment is mostly a joke ;-;
This needs to go back for it's third coat of varnish. Ole Kirk is rolling in his grave so fast you could put magnets on / around him and generate electricity.
Also, whoever decided that was good enough to go to print is probably no longer with the company. (DK or LEGO or both, take your pick)
Should have been the titular Emily from the hit show on Netflix, "Emily in Paris." Everyone know's she's more popular than "spooderman" whoever he's supposed to be.
Well, it’s now clear why he needed cybernetic help…his bloody eye is off.
It's funny how a lot of first reactions to this minifig weren't actually sure if it was a misprint because it's a book marketed as "Spider-Verse" (even without movie branding) and that gave it just enough plausible deniability to be an artistic choice, but no, this is very clearly a misprint, a very embarrassing one, and hopefully they didn't screw up the whole batch.
The decline of quality control in Lego continues...
I was looking forward to that rumoured? Spider-verse cmf line, but if it will be filled with web pattern less Spider people it will be an easy pass.
I think this is why KO superheroes are so wanted. Because you can wait for the official one, but it will look less cool than the KO version.
I do think Cyborg Spidey is a good choice for an exclusive. A reminder of how popular Cable was at one point in time.

maybe his eyesight was so bad from the misprint that he enhanced the wrong eye!
This will be the first "day one purchase" i've done in years.
Misprints aside, this figure looks like Spider-man was trying to dress up for Halloween but couldn't decide between Batman, Ultron, or Cyclops
What’s the misprint sorry? Can’t see a difference!

The white sections of the eyes have been printed too far to the right.

Look at the head printing on the actual minifig. The eyes are misaligned.
Looks like a minifigure from 2003 with that error.
Thank you! Can’t believe I missed that!
Did anyone ask for this minifigure? Or did even remember, this version of Spidey existed?
I don't think this is just a misprint, I think it's a test/prelim version as you can also see the printing on the torso isn't great. We have seen this now a few times with minifigures from books, including the recent blacktron figure and I think the best example was with the classic orange spaceman.
I love that minifig. It was such a crazy, pure-90s, storyline.
Is this available in the UK only? Can't find it on the US Amazon site.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
The instance on the book isn't even a real minifig. It's just a digital insert of the image with the white background. You can see the white glow on the hands, and, more tellingly, you can see the bit of white background showing through between the hip posts because the legs weren't fully inserted into the torso. Only time will tell what the actual book looks like, because DK is famous for posting mock-up covers that have a black silhouette if they aren't ready to reveal the minifig yet. And while early books used to put the minifig in a little clamshell insert that simply invited theft, now they're entombed within the cover (in a way that seems like it still invites theft) and printed on the outside in a way that never seems to match the pre-release images.

"It was the nineties. You had to have metal arms and pouches, or you just weren't anyone.
The square feet and terrible art are also incredibly '90s-accurate. I give this minifigure 10 out of 10 Liefelds."
You also weren't allowed to have normal guns. You had to use guns with the grip in the middle of the gun, instead of at the back. And you were only ever allowed one shoulderpad.

So, like an ARC Trooper with a normal Uzi? Did they even let him have a cloth kama? Did they?!?!?
Neat minifigure and a nice choice to give us something different/unique from the Spider-verse. I’ll be picking this up.
As for the mix up on the cover that’s ask for you.
Of course if they actually produce/have produced the mis-printed figure, and then start corrected figures, the mi-print could end up being worth some money!
Cyborg Spider-Man is an awesome choice. I have a copy of that issue and it was a pretty cool story. Spidey is injured in the previous issue and is taken to a secret government lab where they fit him with cybernetic ‘casts’ that allowed him to heal much more quickly than he normally would. It turned out the lab was taking gravely injured soldiers who volunteered for a program to turn them into cybernetic super-soldiers.
Day-one purchase.

Or Bricklink might neglect/refuse to catalog them as two different variants, and most people will simply be unaware that there are two variations, as happened with the first Harley Quinn minifig.
Hey, how about ISBN9780593843925-1 LEGO Marvel Character Encyclopedia with the exclusive Sam Wilson Captain America minifig? That book is available now; this Spider-Man book comes out in June.
Thankfully I don't need the figure, but I will likely get it anyway since I am handcuffed to this hobby forevermore.
