BrickLink Designer Program Series 4 sets now available for pre-order

Posted by ,

The latest series of BrickLink Designer Program sets is now available to pre-order.

As normal, at least 3000 pre-orders are required for each set to enter production and a maximum of 30,000 will be produced. Popular sets tend to sell out within a matter of hours, so you might wish to act quickly if you are considering a pre-order.

These sets are estimated to ship in July 2025 and you can submit your pre-order here.

Update (20:40 UTC): Siege Encampment and Medieval Seaside Market have both sold out.

By in Czechia,

Ordered 2 sets. Worked relatively fine like 10 seconds after it was enabled :)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

4 sets already ordered :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got the Wild West Train - LEGO website was creaking a bit, but no errors in the end.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Kudos to LEGO, five minutes in and have everything ordered confirmation email received. Worked much much better than all the previous times!

Same for me, I ordered three sets and I even added some ordinary LEGO sets and I had no trouble at all this time. Being patience is the key! :)

By in United Kingdom,

Smoothest ordering with this again. Ordered the boat, the market and the train, even managed to do a pay in three transaction.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Everything seemed to be working smoothly here... just a bit slower on the LEGO website!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thanks Patrickbrans, the links helped huge. Got all my sets ordered.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I got all of them because who needs to eat?

Gravatar
By in United States,

One set was a bit glitchy and took multiple attempts, but overall much smoother than previous rounds! Seven minutes in and all wrapped up for me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Surprising no-one, Seaside Market and Siege Encampment are already funded!

Edit - Wild West Train also now funded

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like Siege Encampment was funded after 8 minutes, and Medieval Seaside Market almost immediately afterwards funded within 9 minutes.

Edit: And the train reached funding at 11 minutes.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I can't log into my lego account...

Edit: It finally worked

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Not going smooth at all over here. Site keeps crashing while logging into my account, even though I was already logged in prior to placing my orders. Grmbl.

EDIT: Of course it worked two minutes after I came to complain here. :'-) Got myself two castle sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm struggling to decide. My LEGO wish list is already so high and I have to be honest in that there are sets I want much more in future series.

Wild West Train: I love the Old West and Trains but it's not cheap and may be a little too wide for my layout.
Siege Encampment: It looks really cool and I just adore his Mountain Fortress. But it's a lot of small builds which in their entirety don't give me the normal BLDP awe.
Merchant Boat: Interesting but I can't get everything.
Medieval Seaside Market: I had been a definite pass on this until I got to see it from the other side. This could work but I already have the amazing Barracuda Bay and the future Tortuga is growing on me.
Riverside Scholars: I've mostly passed on Hanwha's stuff and the windmill is possibly the only BLDP set I kinda regret.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Super simple and the easiest one yet. Absolutely no issues getting my order. There was maybe a slight delay from when it first opened to having item in the cart, but was under two minutes and hardly worth noting beyond past experiences with long delays.

I'm going the Medieval Seaside Market and Siege Encampment for sure. Like the Riverside Scholars. I'm on the fence about the Wild West Train and Merchant Boat. Guess I need to get off the fence sooner rather than later if I want to get these.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Done. Got 'em all and two trebuchets. I'm going to fling a cow or piano.

Does anyone have the number to the Lego addiction hotline?

BTW, the ordering process was smoothest yet. I was logged into both accounts 30 minutes in advance. There's a little lag between the different site communication, and a little slowness in the payment, but overall, much, much better.

Way to go, Lego tech. You're approaching 'only the basic standard is good enough.' Now, if only Lego color-matching and printing could be improved!!... One can dream!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Every link from Bricklink (or the top post in this thread) takes me to the lego.com home page, not the product page. Searching for set numbers doesn't work either. Anybody experiencing this? How do you get to the product pages to place an order?

UPDATE: now the links take me to a page telling me I have added nothing to my cart.

I'm in Canada, by the way.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, this was the smoothest one yet! Got all three sets I wanted.

Completely missed out on series 3 because of glitches. I think the 2 castle sets will be sold out in 2 hours. BET

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Probably the smoothest I've had it go so far this time - there was a bit of lagging on the Lego.com end, which resulted in sets not going into the cart, then multiples going in on refresh. That caused a little bit of back and forth. Three sets (Seaside Market, Siege Encampment, and Wild West Train) all ordered in 5 minutes, and confirmation back from Lego by 16:15. Hope those having issues manage to get the sets they want.

The page does take a second to load, but when it does, it's not the product page that appears. It's a page that says, "You don't have anything in your bag. Start shopping."

Same results in Chrome and Edge on my PC, and Chrome on my phone.

Gravatar

Good luck to all the designers.

That said, it's a relief to have no interest in any of the sets this round, and simply observe Series 4 without any sense of anxiety as to whether my order was successfully registered by TLC.

Gravatar

All the sets are funded, or just about to approach the threshold.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I picked up the Seaside Market and train set! Maybe an unpopular opinion, but, despite the piece count, Siege Encampment doesn't seem to be worth the cost, especially if you don't have a castle. Just a lot of scattered modules, albeit quite detailed.

I'm now finding the same. I thought the whole thing was broken, since I was only trying to add the Wild West Train. When I tried the other sets, they worked, but still no luck on the Wild West Train.

Remnant of the Trump Tantrum Tariff?

Maybe you have to say the magic words: 'Onward to Calgary!'

Gravatar
By in United States,

I also went with the Seaside Market & the Train. Missed out on the one set I wanted last round due to having surgery that morning. It's going to be an expensive year because there are two sets in the next round I know I'll be ordering also.

It is high time they fix this.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm from Canada and does not let me order the train.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They're all funded.

Two castle sets are selling like hotcakes followed by the train which is hampered by low Canuck interest for some reason. The boat and scholars are lagging behind.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Seaside leading Siege by a hair with the train noticeably trailing. It's going to be a photo finish.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have to wonder the percentage of people who buy these to actually build vs the people who buy just to "invest."

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I hope they resolve the issue with not being able to order the train from Canada before it sells out. I have the General Store and Saloon so it would be a nice addition to my display.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The order process actually worked smoothly for a change. Perhaps Lego finally fixed its IT infrastructure?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For all the flaws of this process, its ability to trigger FOMO especially, I quite like it and the excitement that comes with it.

I'll sit this one out, as nothing really appeals. Fun to watch though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is the first series for which I have not ordered anything. For the first time, I didn't care for any of these designs. I'll be back to ordering when it's time for Series 5.

I would be interested in this too, having brought some off eBay because of missed opportunities or changing my mind. The last train I managed to get at orp off eBay, so it's not always the case that they prove to be a good investment.

Also I always have to order these via chrome on my laptop, as the scrollbar never works in my preferred browser on this part of the site.

From Canada, and having the same issue with the train. I just got off the phone with customer service. The timing works out that I will have just saved enough for series 4 when it gets shipped!

Barring any more Lego expenditure.

They ought to try and provide something temporarily for Canada at least on the train, so they have a record of those who want it, because the lengthy deadline to get the sets rarely lasts for the popular ones.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

As cool as the Siege Encampment is, Series 5 (Transylvania, Popcorn cart, Thieves of Tortuga) and Series 6 (Goldmine, Outlaw Forest Den, Art Factory) have too many superior sets to plunder my wallet, so decided to pass on this series for the first time.

Hey guys, what BDP models do you want to see people make in future waves that aren't castles / trains / pirates?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Just got a callback from LEGO Canada Customer Service. The representative said (no doubt a message directed from higher ups), "We are working on the problem, but I can assure you there are plenty of sets. Keep refreshing and you WILL get it. Thank you for your patience."

With the set nearly half sold out, I don't know that I share his rosy outlook, but keeping our eyes on it is all we can do.

I would like unusual sets, there were some great ones in the voting for season six, odd colours, designed to be floating, sets that are fantastical and original, not a variation on a Lego theme.

In reality, these shouldn't be particularly good investment sets, despite their limited nature.

The program requires that sets be designed from a palette of parts that will be available thru Pick-a-Brick Online for, we'll call it "the next production cycle", which since the sets are going to be several months out from pre-order to delivery, and were several months in development phases, means those parts are available for a year or more at least, and/or are regular common elements. There aren't any unique molds, and there aren't any unique prints. The only potential unique element is the sticker sheet, and the box if that's your thing. Not even printed instructions.

In other words, get yourself a high quality printer/sticker paper, and start selling "used, without box" copies the day after the inventory is made available? :p

It sure would be interesting to see what number of these do end living in their box on a shelf as a perceived investment, or "collector item" tho.

For my part, my copy of 910029 still sits in its "ready to ship" box, never having had the seals cut, cause I haven't found the time/energy to deal with an entirely digital build of that size. Haven't cared for building digital on a couple of the Mario sets I've built in the past, and those were much much smaller.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@279
How economically feasible is that to replicate these sets through "Pick-a-Brick Online"? The cents per part price is higher than average sets but not worse than many licensed sets. I would imagine ordering the brick seperately would come with a huge surcharge?

That thechnique would only put a hard upper limit at the price increase and possible profit, say max doubling it, and not going past that as some other sets have?

I plan to download the instructions for the Siege Encampment when they become available. I know I already have a lot of the parts in my inventory so I couldn't see spending the money for the set as there are some parts of it I'm not really interested in and I know I have a lot of the parts for the included minifigs.

Yet again a 0300 / 3am eastern Australia wake-up for this addiction! Certainly it was worth it to secure the gamut of BDP series 4 sets... and stretching the budget / marital friendship to ensure two each of what were always going to be the most popular: 910045 Siege Encampment, 910047 Medieval Seaside Market, and 910044 Wild West Train (I'm sure that will sell out soon enough!)

This happened to me a while back. I moved to the U.K. and discovered that in my My Account/Account Settings/My Information there was one place that still showed me as U.S., even though I'd been using U.K. SAH for over a year. Changing that one field to U.K. got the voucher/points setting to show up in my cart like it is supposed to. May be something else entirely of course but I was happy to find that.

It's a long train.

Look to the heavens, you can look to the skies
You can find redemption starin' back into your eyes
There is protection and there's peace the same
Burnin' your ticket for that long black train

It seems to be exactly the way they want it. "

Works both ways, Lego and us rushing to buy them.

Wonder why Lego has a hard limit on pre orders. They could just make more than 30k of the popular sets, both getting them more profit and allowing everyone that wants it to buy the set.

But then the FOMO could dissipate.

A non-guaranteed waitlist option would fix that. Extras made in lots of say, 5000?

Given that Castle sets continue to sell out within hours, even after the limit on pre-orders has been increased, I don't think FOMO is what's driving their popularity. OTOH, it might be that these are not particularly profitable items, despite not appearing to be remarkable bargains. Since I don't want the prices to increase, I'm happy to let TLG maintain what they seem to have decided is a reasonable balance between supply and demand.

I like the look of the Wild West Train, but after building the Logging Train and other Bricklink Designer sets, I think I'm done throwing money at any future Bricklink sets. There are just too many janky construction techniques that Lego would have fixed if they were refined by the Lego design team.

...and I'm really only interested in the train. The water tower and windmill do not interest me at all and I wish they were left out to lower the cost. Yet another example of a designer including things that really weren't necessary.

Not ordering a single one while they sell them with no paper instructions

I was only interested in the train, but I don't want the windmill nor the water tower, so I'm sitting this round out.

How come there are no instructions with the set? I didn't know that.
So how do you assemble the set? Where can I get the instructions?

There are no "printed" instructions with the sets... once they ship you will be able to download a pdf version of the instructions from the Bricklink website.
