Double LEGO Insiders points start tomorrow

Posted by ,

LEGO has today announced that double Insiders points will be available between the 8th and 12th of February, so beginning tomorrow.

Alternatively, this is the last day that 30701 Field Flowers is being given away with purchases of over £35, $40 or €40, at least for the moment. Additionally, substantial discounts are available on a few sets, depending on your region. For example, 21339 BTS Dynamite and 76232 The Hoopty are both half price in the UK and some mainland European countries.

By in United Kingdom,

Even at 50%, the Hoopty is still massively overpriced. Amazing.

There's not much I see at the moment that I'm crazy about (if they reduce the Sith Infiltrator or Arc-170 then I might be interested). But the next Middle-Earth set should be due in a couple of months...

By in United Kingdom,

Yay! I might get a 300-350 point set (so 600-700 points) so then I can get Micro Ninjago City Gardens!
What ~£40 set or set combo do people think I should get?

I hope 30701 Field Flowers GWP gets repeated.... it looks a bit lonely on its own!

By in France,

@CapnRex101 I don't know elsewhere in mainland Europe but in France there are no current single set discounts. Instead, there are -15% discounts on some 2 set bundles.

By in Austria,

it's freakin hilarious that the Hoopty is *still* in stock despite being almost 50% off, just shows how much of an insult that set is

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Ok, so 76232 now costs what it should normally cost.

No it costs more than it should
Not that anyone wants it.

By in United Kingdom,

I plan on getting the last 5 CMFs I need. Luckily I found the wolf tamer guy without much effort the other day so I don't need to fight the scalpers for that one

By in United Kingdom,

I actually really like the Hoopty. The ship is an interesting and cute shape, the designer did a fantastic job with the spacious interior, and I like the minifigures it comes with very much (even if I think they should’ve done some more printing on two of them). The price was just ridiculous, though - I’ll have to think about whether 50% off is worth having to deal with DPD.

how? in my city, someone raided every single store that sells Lego and bought all of the wolf guy figures. I asked friends to look in other cities but so far nobody has had any luck.

Agreed. It is a great model but... even if it originally went on sale at the price it is now - £42.50, I'd still be waiting on a sale discount of at least 25% before buying.

By in United States,

Ahhhh yes, the Hoopty! Wherein LEGO pushed the absolute limits of both price AND false advertising, with all of the 3D renders making it look like the ship was done in drum-lacquered silver pieces and not standard light gray.

Absolutely amazing it's still available given that Marvels came out in 2023. We should take bets on what the final discount will be before the set is officially sold out, because I'm wagering that 50% off still isn't generous enough.

By in Australia,

Worth noting about 200 ‘retiring soon’ sets came back in stock today here in Australia. Eldorado Fortress, Ecto-1, Creator 3in1 Castle, Camaro etc.

Sorry about that and thank you; I looked at Germany and a couple of others with the same discounts, so assumed they would be shared across Europe, but it appears not.

Is this online only or in-store too?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Still no decent discount on 75394 unfortunately….

I was very lucky. I got some from Lego shop but the guy in there said that they are constantly raided to the point they stop opening boxes just for wolf guys because then they are left with tons extra which overflow their bucket thing they are in. I went to WHsmith which has a small Lego section and there right at the back of the rung was a wolf guy.

Maybe If i find any extras I should buy them and sell them for standard price and only charge postage - be a good guy/good deed for the days

The set isn't very interesting, but finally has a reasonable price per piece, (considering the license). The original price was absurd and I don't know how it is possible that this set is still being produced since 2023.

What's wrong with DPD? Of all the LEGO.com orders I've done, none have arrived later than the 2-4 promised business days, and the last two have both been delivered the next day.
Maybe DPD is just better where I live than you though.

Agreed. It's a reasonable ppp for a licenced set, but given that I only own 14 licenced sets (excluding the D&D minifigs), I'm more used to non-licenced sets prices.

The Hoopty is still at more than 10p per piece despite being 50% off. That's quite the achievement!

Agreed, always been excellent for me. Maybe down to having the same driver for several years. In fact I tend to avoid any firm that doesn't always use DPD!

To my experience all couriers are much of a muchness. 95% of the time they are fine but as soon as someone has one bad experience they will claim that courier is dreadful and should be avoided at all costs.

Perfectly happy to believe DPD are great anywhere I’m not, but so far every (and I do mean every - we’re not talking a one-off) delivery box has arrived with holes in it or crushed or torn open, and the drivers seem to believe that if you don’t answer the door within three seconds there’s no-one home.

On the plus side the pick-up point for “missed” deliveries is quite convenient.

I don’t care much about delivery speed, to be fair, so maybe they’re rocking that end of things.

had the same experience with DPD! my PAB order from lego.com wasn't even delivered properly, I had to go pick it up at a convenience store only to see that the packaging had been torn open. luckily the plastic bag with the parts was still sealed but seriously wtf, this is a bad look for Lego

By in United Kingdom,

I have a few afols in DPD in my neighborhood, so they're nothing but excellent, though always curious as to what I've ordered this time.

As for bricklink, its normally exempt from Lego offers.

This would be an ideal week to order stuff for my birthday, and gather more points, but that's on hold because someone is set on spending a few days of half term in Edinburgh.

And out of the sets I'd like the most, are all set to be available for order or to ship on my birthday, not before it.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Are Pick a Brick purchases eligible to double points and GWP ?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Do you receive 2X for preorders?

You certainly used to, but pre-orders were also valid for GWPs but now they're not so lego.com confirmation would be good. Or the basket should be checkable as it shows 'Pending LEGO® Insiders points' before finishing.

"I still think PPP is the dumbest metric since the phase-transitioning point of brine, or some weirdo's twelve-thumbed foot, or maybe just a, a BIG OLD STONE - but by any metric, the Hoopty just doesn't measure up.

Does it deserve this much hate? Probably not. Does it deserve its former price-tag? Definitely not.

Oh yeah, BTS. Still exists, huh?"

A golfball-sized object made of a platinum–iridium alloy called 'Le Grand K' is also a pretty dumb metric, but look how useful the kilogram is!

76232 must have sold out before midnight.
BTS is still around

Gravatar
By in Poland,

double points for BDP sets - just snatched the train

Gravatar
By in United States,

Maybe the Marvels will drive the Hoopty straight into Avengers: Secret Reboot and use the powers of the multiverse to make people care about this set again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They really need to sell the icons cat in different colors.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Unfortunate, but perhaps inevitable, double Lego insiders points takes place on the same month many of us will be charged for our Series 3 Bricklink Designer Program sets. Hence, I'll have to say thanks but no thanks to the double points this weekend (knowing how much I'm going to be charged, for BLDP, over the next few weeks).

So you think... you think someone just picked up a ball of platinum and figured, "you know what, this would make a pretty good unit of measurement"? You honestly do think that's how this works, don't you.

I'm not Chris Martin, you know. I'm not here to fix you."
