Wrong Football for tonight. Big RIP to the Chiefs, go Birds.

Huwbot heard there was football and came to the party.

I have this set. I think I need to replace the stickers though.

I hope he's aiming at the goal and not at the Minifigures...

The random minifig and the random set are both from the same year today. I don't imagine that happens too often.

For sure. Was not expecting that.

"'MURICA"

That's one large caliber bullet.

@crazylegoman:
RSotD being restricted to sets approximately 10 years old or older, and unique minifigs being heavily skewed towards the present, the odds are indeed stacked against that. The one day I would have expected a potential match was when the pick for RSotD was rigged to deliver something Ninjago, but RMotD didn't start until two years later. Someone else can go through and do a day-by-day search, if they want to. There's just under two years of archive to slog through...twice.

The gap between the minifigures is huge and the one on the left is already bottling it, I’d definitely be looking to blast it through the wall.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Josh Allen made that 4th and 1, and the Super Bowl would've been so much more fun to watch. Bills Mafia. Now I can go back to hating the Eagles

Also I love this soccer/football sets from the early 2000s. I have so many of them. Yes, the field pieces are big and bulky but the play aspect worked well, and it was fun to play a game of Lego soccer/football with friends and family.

I think you’re supposed to be aiming for the two mounted football signs, but it really looks like that kick has been aimed right at the faces of those minifig portraits. Someone has a grudge, methinks

By in Turkey,

A rare occasion for me, I have the random set and the figure of the day. Though, none of them is fully built.

That sounds like a gun set

By in Netherlands,

I don't get some of the reactions here. This clearly is football, not handegg.....

Ronald Koeman, known for his powerful shot, once said the first free kick in a game isn't aimed at the goal. It's aimed at the players in the "wall", so they'll move out of the way with any free kicks later in the game.....

The image is oddly clear with no gigantic soccer player in sight. This must either be the box or it was an A4-sized instruction booklet with a tiny image that didn't have enough room for that non-set nonsense. Either way, it's nice.

I like the little set as well. Plenty of stuff to spice up the 'game'

By in Sweden,

Now this is quite a literal "wall" in soccer.

I've got this one, though... if it weren't for that big sticker, I don't think I'd remember it. I can't remember if I got it before or after my great dismantling of sets in 2004--you'd think it was before, but it has left approximately no impression on my memory, which you'd expect more from a set after that (and I know some of the Soccer sets lingered on shelves).

Either way, that sticker is/was a memorable one.

Blimey, if you pop out the image and click on the 'Football' subtheme one of the sets is Police Unit 3314.

Sign of the times!
