LEGO Ideas 'Build from the Heart' contest winner announced

LEGO Ideas hosted a building challenge named Build from the Heart last year, featuring models inspired by love, friendship and self-care.
The winner of the contest has now been revealed as Love Birds by ModularManiac, which will be turned into an official set and likely released in 2026, given the usual timescale.

Reminds me of Scotty and Owen's Cut in Half build from LM Australia S3.
the use of a very small colour palette works well for this but i fear those birds are gonna end up being normal like parrot patterned birds and the tree is gonna have 5 different shades of brown. it'll prolly be alright but i don't expect too much
Surprises me that this would be the entry they'd pick; it feels quite soon after 40522 did a smaller-scale version of the same concept. Still, the model does look nice, and less cartoony than the 2022 set ^^

I guess this will be out for valentine's day next year? Seems like a nice set, wouldn't be surprised if I end up getting it as a gift for my wife. I hope if my gut is right they continue the trend of parallel instructions, at least for the birds
It's not better than a nice MLT (mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich) when the mutton is nice and lean, and the tomato is ripe.
I love the asymmetrical composition of it!

The birds and the tree look awesome. I would totally be interested in buying that. But the final product will likely look different enough I will have to question if I really want it. Sad how that works. I'm guessing stability wise there will be some changes made.

A copy of 40522, couldn't a more original submission have won?
Love all the folks saying that this is a repeat of 40522. You mean the one that came out 4 years before this set is going to release? Yeah bud, I can't imagine why they'd make another set with two birds. The builds don't even look alike, the ones in this project are way smaller and more intricate! We don't need to complain for the sake of complaining.
I like it - I would buy it for my partner and she would let me build it - win win...

I very much hope they do brighten it up and add some colour. As it is, it's very dull.

When there are other projects that have never been into Lego sets before it is disappointing that the winner isn't "original" and is a repeat of what most already own, particularly as the previous lovebirds set was one of Lego's best Valentine's sets.
TBH if Lego do another Valentine's Ideas competition I'll just do an MOC of a panda and bear holding hands, and then moan at the people want originality.

The turnover of sets and fans means that the vast, vast, vast majority of folks would not have gotten the previous set, especially considering that these are usually going to be gifts to people who aren't currently Afols.
I'd also question the use of "original," as the only thing this has in common with the previous set is 'two birds,' not the same birds, not the same base, not the same size, just the fact that there are two birds. The same can be said for the rest of the winners. Brick built heart is nowhere near new, nor teddy bear, nor memories box. The swans are the same Valentines "two animals" concept with a slightly different animal than before. Does that class as original?
Very nice set IMO; I hope it isn't modified out of recognition while being refined by TLG.
