X-Files feels to be the most "Looks like a LEGO set" out of these and feels to be a step above. I believe it's hit 10K a few times so ... I want to believe!
X files looks amazing, the set is... out there. Has to win, it's utterly incredible. All the Easter eggs, the detail, it's fascinating.
X-flies, but fifth element in the lead at the mo.
I like the Buffy set the most, mainly because I'm a book digger myself :)
JUMANJI
The Fifth Element! "Leeloo Dallas multipass!"
Wow... all of these are amazing... Probably gonna vote on the X-Files though!
As for the Fifth Element, Lego wouldn't chrome it anymore.
X-Files will probably win and got my vote. Edward Scissorhands is nice, but unnecessarily too big.
Jumanji calls out to me.
Buffy!
Unfortunately for me I'm personally into zero of these IPs, they're not my thing, but if I had to choose one to make into a set I'd honestly choose Buffy as it'll be a LEGO Store shelf companion next to the recent Twilight set. Anything to help THAT set sell, haha.
Another vote for The X-Files. Let's just say, this entry has a distinct smell to it, a certain... paranormal bouquet.
Moving on from the 80s nostalgia into the 90s
Those are very 90s inspired, so kudos.
As the execution, I'd say X-Files looks the most polished. I think Edward Scissorhands looks like a nice build, but size wise I don't know if it is worth it. I think LEGO could do a fine job with a library Buffy set that would blow the submission out of the water. Jumanji looks neat, but there would be a lot of prints or large stickers and I can't imagine that going over well either way. And while I love the Fifth Element, I don't know how the book nook thing works. I think people vote for the subject matter not always on the portrayal.
I always forget my IDEAS login info, so I never go in to vote, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Love all of them and would definitely purchase each one except maybe Edward Scissorhands, it looks a bit too big and would be crazy expensive.
Love Buffy TVS show. Binging it again right now.
But I think it would’ve been better to have done the HS graduation with the giant mayor snake, all the kids with their weapons and a bunch of vampires.
X-Files though, looks great here. Gets my vote.
X-Files all the way
Multipass!
The X-Files, please! It might be my favorite TV show. That build concept in ingenious, and I adore all of the Easter eggs.
X-Files gotta win. I want to believe!
Jumanji looks amazing hope it gets picked
I need a 6th option
None of these interest me, so I'm going to fulfill my solemn duty and do absolutely nothing.
When I first read the title I thought this was gonna be the next recreation of a classic 90s set. Bummer.
I just want the Leeloo minifig in the 5th Element set!
Definitely not Edward Scissorhands on the basis that it follows the typical template of image of the set and a massive image of the minifigure to the side.
Edward Scissorhands is, in the end, a big gray mansion. While it's lovely and has many details, I just don't see it being appealing. I think a combination of the pastel suburbs with the mansion, a la Stranger Things house, would have worked better.
Buffy is one of my all time favorite shows but the library is not very inspired. Better if it were graduation, or one of the iconic graveyard fights. Or the Bronze club with many vignettes included.
Jumanji without the crazy animal stuff... I don't see it.
I'd love to see the 5th element set but as it stands it's just trying to do too many things at once. It's lovely, though.
So the winner is... the X-files! Even though I was never the show's biggest fan, it is a quintessential 90s show, and the set is beautiful, smartly crafted, and pleasing to look at. It's got just the right balance of size/details/colors/figs.
The X-Files one is fantastic! Love it. It’s the most LEGO-looking set of the bunch and I like the references to the show. I like the Fifth Element one, too, but where’s the Korben Dallas minifig?
Child-me would have killed for a LEGO Jumanji set. I voted for X-Files.
We just finished an X-Files watch (hadn't seen it since it aired). It's still a lot of fun. I like the model, but I feel like it needs "I WANT TO BELIEVE" in block font. And maybe optional flames for the office...
Most of these aren't really doing it for me.
But I'm not going to vote because by the looks of it I won't be able to afford any of these or have room for any them.
I guess the X-files looks nice at least. It looks the most competent and would make for a striking display piece. I don't know the significence of the underground area so I can't say if it's needed, but it feels like it's trying to balance two things at once.
The Jumanji one though looks the most on point however! The use of the board itself is inspired and it doesn't try to overreach what it's trying to do. Jumanji doesn't necessarily scream 90s to me, but it's a great execution of the film's central concept.
Is it wrong to vote even if you don’t intend to buy the set? There’s one I prefer but none of them fall within any of the genres that make up my collection.
Jumanji all the way!
I went fifth element. Feel like this is it's only chance where as the other will probably happen eventually.
Though I'd hope we get the rest of the cast some how.
Can we see the results anywhere
Do they ALL have to be display sets? be original!
Hard pass on all of these but the X-Files. Was not a fan of any of the rest of these. The X-Files is good, but the gray alien has to go. The show was at it's best when it left you with more questions than answers. As such it would be the boy and girl from the pilot episode rather than a gray alien.
I love the board game concept and opening house for Jumanji!!
I do really like the idea of an Allyson Hannigan minifig, but on the other hand I’d hate to put even one red cent in the pocket of Joss Whedon.
Wrong direction. Needed the 60s!
Still patiently awaiting The Monkees or Thunderbirds!
80s and 90s are best forgotten!
X-Files is great but I had to vote for The Fifth Element, such a great film!
I like them all a lot (although I would expect Edward Scissorhands to be crazy expensive). The one I relate the most to, is: X-Files (voted).
Tentative order (for me):
X-files (perfect in every way - IMO - and 'space' related!!!)
Edward Scissorhands (expecting a very high cost)
Fifth element (would not know where to put this - unfolded, looks like it's huge)
Buffy (got the reading passion GWP already)
Jumanji (does not show any dangers encountered)
The B-model for Edward Scissorhand could be a SW spacecraft - that is a lot of grey! That said, if Lego does a trans-blue minifig, I'm in.
I suppose any of them will be quite expensive anyway...
I voted X-Files.
The Fifth Element is an awesome movie, but the set idea just doesn't look enticing enough to me.
Couldn't care less about the others.
X-Files! X-Files! X-FILES! :)
Jumanji for me <3.
YAY! LICENSED $200 DISPLAY SETS OF OLD IP! WE ALL LOVE LICENSED $200 DISPLAY SETS OF OLD IP!
It would legit be hilarious if they remade a Krana mold in 2025/6, 23 years after the Bohrok and 10 years after Bionicle got definitively buried, just to have it as a shelf decoration in a Buffy set. Of course it's not happening, Lego manufacturing would shoot it down first thing and the designers would replace it with something more show-accurate, but it's a funny thought regardless.

If Whedon is getting un-cancelled, then Firefly comes before Buffy.
The only one that looks okay to me is X-Files though the office seems way too big for its contents. If I were a betting many, I'd say that LEGO would prefer Jumanji to win but the submission doesn't seem to capture it very well.

Buffy could've easily have been done a playset with the giant snake and the 'scooby-gang' with some vampire minifigs.
Have some flick fire missiles, stud shooters with reddish brown elements to attack the vamps, and a part of the set with dynamite elements and a mechaism to 'blow' part of it to topple onto the giant mayor snake.

Be so east to add or fix...
needs those 2 big printed tiles though.
The truth is out there Mulder… but so are Lies- Skully
An X-files set would be a dream come true, I grew up in the early 2000-2010s but my dad got me into the show and I’ve seen every episode and movie.
Would do anything for a Fifth Element set.
I looked at them, but I don't see anything worth voting for, certainly no ideas here I'd part cash for.
This final 5 is ... fine. I like Edward & Juamnji, Fifth Element is a good movie, & I've heard good things about Buffy & X-Files. But I was hoping for something different. I don't know what, but just something different. Also, there was a lot of Forrest Gump sets! I get the movie is popular, I just don't know about that Venn diagram of Lego fans & Forrest fans.
Is that Tooms in Mulder’s air vent?
I voted for the one I would consider buying -- X-files
The X files has a calming shade to it. A nice shade of blue, cerlurean blue...

The 90s were the peak of civilization, and you know it. Yes, I was born in the 90s, and that's how I know.
Anyway, I'd go for Jumanji.
We *need* Buffy, just so she can show up at 21354 and take care of a certain sparkly someone. Speaking of which...

He was banned, under studio orders, from being alone in a room with the underage girl playing Buffy’s kid sister, and his ex-wife said he used to sleep with his female stars. He should have his name stripped off everything he ever did in Hollywood.
Jumanji for me. As much a I like X-Files and Fifth Element, I don't think the fan models' charms would survive the journey to final set. Jumanji has a better chance making it intact, if not a little better (i.e. more animals). Plus the world needs more Robin Williams minfigs.
That X-Files set is amazing. Gimme!
None for me, but voted X Files cause its cool af.
X-FILES got my vote, and I hope it wins. The set looks FANTASTIC and it's easily the most "90s era" property of the lot, IMO. Everything about that show captures so much of what entertainment in the 1990s was about, and it ran for virtually the entire decade.
X-Files seems like the best by far to me but this doesn't seem like a great selection to choose from. I guess I think of Disney or movies and sitcoms they've already done sets of when I think 90s so maybe there's not much left to go off of, but still. I don't jump to Jumanji and Edward Scissorhands.

Yes. It’s a nice Easter egg. Eugene Victor Tooms is one of the three “monster of the week” entities that appear in multiple episodes.
The others (not featured in the model) are Donnie Pfaster and Robert Patrick Modell. Although others (like flukeman) had minor cameos throughout other episodes in the forms of drawings, photographs and busts of heads.

Not just his ex-wife! Whedon has literally admitted to doing this in more recent interviews.
While I personally like Jumanji and The Fifth Element better, none of those options fully encompass the feeling of the 90s better than the X-Files. Thus, my vote is that.
At first, I liked the The X-Files submission the best, because my affinity with the source material here is the strongest between the five, and it's a great submission! But looking at all the pictures over at the Ideas website, I wonder how this model will do in normal lighting conditions. I don't think I'd like it that much then.
Looking through the additional pictures of the The Fift Element submission, I'm even more impressed then I was at first sight. Not only rich in detail and pleasantly colourful, as well as some nice forced perspective, but also well executed additional spaces at the back side!
The Buffy submission doesn't do anything for me. At all.
Jumanji is a great movie, and I like the submission, but it's not up there with the first two. It's nice how the house contains all these little scenes, but they feel a bit too crammed in there. Also, the board and the house somehow feel like they aren't supposed to be together in one set, in this form.
The Edward Scissorhands submission is too gray. The source material doesn't really help here. I like some details and some not so much, so a 4th place in my book.
The X-Files and The Fift Element switched 1st and 2nd places, with the latter ending up getting my vote.
Fifth Element for me. X-Files close second. I never actually vote for Ideas sets though so I’ll leave it in your capable hands

And other similar comments.
Remember folks, this is IDEAS! You don't vote for the actual fan-model, you vote for the idea, the IP, and maybe the overall concept/layout. Not the actual size, complexity, fine details, minifigs, etc.
I'm not saying the winner of this will end up being a small "affordable" set. But most likely the final product by Lego will be more, shall we say, "efficient", than any of these submissions.
Well, for once I know all of these IP's. That's a good chunk of my childhood and teens right there. But X-files sure is closest to my heart, I've seen all episodes (of the original 9 seasons) probably a handful of times. So I would love to have a set celebrating that show.
When all options are arguably equally iconic, it's easier to have an attachment to a series spanning almost a decade, rather than a one-off movie. And between vampires only, and vampires and every other monster there is, X-files would have Buffy as breakfast!

That's the basement of the J Edgar Hoover building where only the FBI's most unwanted resides (aka Mulder's office and where files labelled X are stored).
I did love most of those movies and watch both of those shows growing up, but all in all, I can't go against The X Files. It was my favourite and I still love it to this day, and there are a lot of great little easter eggs in that build. I would definitely be happy to find a spot for it in my Lego room.
The Jumanji one does also look kinda awesome and clever though.
I voted 5th Element as it is unexpected and well designed. Also likely would not ever happen if it doesn’t win.
However I would be delighted with an X Files set. So I propose a tie vote!

If coercing all his actresses to sleep with him was as far as it went, he could just share a cell with Weinstein. While making a name for himself as the biggest feminist in Hollywood, he liked to show off by making any woman in the writer's room cry in front of everyone else. He fired an actress for not getting an abortion. And nobody will say exactly why he wasn't allowed to be alone with an underage actress on one of his shows.

Ooh if i had known there was a 90’s themed building challenge, i would have made a Ren & Stimpy set, and a Twin Peaks set

Ooh nice trip to memory lane if you go look at all the models they’ve sent in. Nice 90’s vibe.

Completely agree with this, people should look at all the Fifth Element pictures, it's fantastic and would look the best on display. The minifigures would be much more interesting than a couple of suits too. But in the end I went with the IP I want the most as who knows what Lego will do with the set and I think the x-files has a better chance of beating the seats I less interested in.
But if Lego have already had talks with all the IP holders it seems like a waste that we won't get more than one of these.
But these competitions seems silly when Lego reject 50 sets every review even when they get 10,000 votes, some of which have been from the 90s. Hasn't an X-Files set already been rejected for example?

Yeah, besides, it looks great on Model Team vehicles (if it's not scuffed). Last year I bought MiSB 5563 on Bricklink at a bargain price and the grill looks great. 8495 is probably one of the last sets where chrome appeared. I don't know why they stopped using it. Maybe it was toxic to children or harmful to the environment...

9v trains (the yellow station would do nicely) would be my wish, followed closely by Western set, preferably Fort Legoredo.
I put in my vote for The X-Files. Would be a fun set to build and great on display.
If it doesn't get through, I'd love some official Lego Buffy figures.
I miss Joss Whedon's work. Binged all of Angel again (at times, it's better than Buffy, which I love) and binging again for umpteenth time, Buffy tVS.
Whedon's best (Besides The Avengers Lego, ALL of his works could be Lego sets)...
- Buffy The Vampire Slayer (TV show)
- Angel (TV show)
- The Avengers ('12)
- Firefly (TV show)
- Cabin in the Woods
- Serenity ('05)
- Alien Resurrection
- Dollhouse (TV show)
I was hoping for Ice Planet too!
Of these, Edward Scissorhands always felt more 80s than 90s to me. It's also colossal, and so would be ridiculously expensive. It does look nice, but there's no way I'd buy it.
The X-files one looks great, but I suspect a considerable amount of that is due to the lighting in the pics. Will it look as good in reality? Not convinced..
The 5th Element one looks amazing, and has some great scenes in the back. However, it's also massive and will likely be far too expensive. If they did a 5th element set with just the taxi and some figs of Korben and Leeloo I'd be there like a shot!
Jumanji is clever, incorporating the house into the game. The prints/stickers that would be needed are unpalatable however, and it could also do with a few more animals! There's some promise there though.
The last one is dull IMHO; although I've never watched the show. I also don't want to give Whedon money, so I wouldn't be buying it regardless.
Jumanji is the only one that might be affordable (for a niche nostalgia property) and so the one I'd vote for!
Fan of the Fifth Element and Buffy but X-Files was always something special and it's very well captured in the model.
X-Files for the win.
The truth is in my vote.
I bought the custom Mulder and Scully years ago and have always wanted an official set.
Being much younger in the 90’s, I found x-files to be one if not the best show on TV. Being much older in the 2025, it still ranks higher than most shows today. X-files is the clear winner of this category.

I see a couple of comments about the lighting making the X-files set look better than it probably will. That's a valid point, but you'll only have to wait a couple of weeks after it's launched until Game of Bricks release a lighting set for it!

"Being much younger in the 90’s, I found x-files to be one if not the best show on TV. Being much older in the 2025, it still ranks higher than most shows today. X-files is the clear winner of this category."
I tried watching it when it premiered. Screw X-Files. Give me a Brisco County Jr. set!
Good luck to Brent and the X-Files. He's worked hard for years to get this officially made, so hopefully this is the moment.

I was hoping for Ice Planet or Wild West.
Lego was my 90s pop culture. Probably the pop culture of all the other decades of my life too."
9v trains (the yellow station would do nicely) would be my wish, followed closely by Western set, preferably Fort Legoredo."
I would settle for a revival of 1990's Airport Shuttle monorail.

Every Lego fan who was alive when 6399 was released would.

To be honest I don't really see much appeal to the Lego monorail. If it was an overhead monorail then that would be different.

As a MOC, I admit it doesn't have much going for it. As a toy, it is amazing. In the case of 6990 and 6991, it's a train. In space. Need we say more? In the case of 6399, we can say more: it's an awesome multilevel extravaganza with a seemingly magical propulsion mechanism and an ingenious system of stop-and-reverse controls, with two beautifully-designed "bases" to go between. If you add 6347, it's an ingenious system with branch lines using even-more-ingeniously-designed self-throwing switches.
Also add in the cachet: maybe nobody bats an eye at a full catalog of $400+ Lego sets now, but that's exactly what this set was in 2025 dollars, and it stood pretty much alone, making it the most amazing play value experience no kid could buy. Unless said kid was named Rockefeller, which I was not.
None of the above.

Lighting kits give most display sets a big boost, but it shouldn't require one. Also, no lighting kit brings the lighting that is put in when rendering images, so it still won't compare.
