Today's random set is 1270 Trial Size Bag (Coloraction promotion), released during 2005. It's one of 37 Creator sets produced that year. It contains 15 pieces.

It's owned by 18 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $10.70, or eBay.

It's always good to get a set you have never even remotely known about every once in a while.

This one only lists 15 pieces in brickset. 1270 Chromika has 16 according to brickset. I wonder why.

Brickset is pulling inventories from Rebrickable when possible for these sets, and Rebrickable has 16 parts for 1270-2, and nothing for 1270-3. However, if you go to Bricklink, it has the same 16 parts for both 1270-2 and 1270-3.

My guess is either that the packaging printing was done before the set contents were finalized (the packaging for both says 15 parts), or Bricklink and Rebrickable are counting the single spare part as part of the main inventory because there is no official parts list for these sets and they can't tell which part is the spare.

Brickset pulls inventories from the LEGO servers, automatically, every day. When the inventory has been pulled from Rebrickable, I think that's only a stopgap measure where no official inventory is available to download.

Yeah, that's what I meant. There's no official inventory from Lego for either of these sets, so the fallback is Rebrickable, and Rebrickable doesn't list 1270-3, so Brickset lists 16 parts for 1270-2 (because Rebrickable does) and 15 parts for 1270-3 (because no-one has an inventory and the packaging says 15 parts).

If Brickset used Bricklink as a fallback, it'd show both 1270-2 and 1270-3 as having 16 parts, since Bricklink has inventories for both sets. I assume there are good reasons why Brickset doesn't use Bricklink this way, so I'm not criticizing or saying they should use it.

@gearwheel:
As I said, Brickset downloads set inventories automatically on a daily basis. Rebrickable starts with the same source, but edits the results. Bricklink uses purely user-input inventories. And notates alternate inventories within the same listing. And sometimes lists massively different inventories under successive set numbers (79104 is one instance I know of, having -1 and -2 entries on BL). I'm not sure Bricklink's system would even be compatible with Brickset.

Anyone else having a bug saying they no longer have any minifigs in their collection on brickset? Because my collection is now only bringing up one minifig and it's the only loose one I own.

Yeah I'm having the same. It happens now and again. Just a glitch or something. I'm sure it'll be fixed and sorted tonight.

By in Italy,

I see much more bricks on the picture than 15.

By in Netherlands,

From what I can find there is only one of these, I thought there was a whole group with one of those builds shown each. Like with those fruit builds.

Instead, the inventory on Bricklink doesn't quite match what's shown built on the packaging. There's only one yellow part on that list, one 2x2 brick. This shows 1x2 bricks in yellow. This shows inverted blue 2x2 bricks. BL only has regupar brick. So I have no idea why the packaging depicts these builds. Or the inventory is wrong?

Also, I found no place online with its instructions or that shows the included contents outside of the polybag.

That house is about 40 parts, those flowers over 20.

Quite a bizarre and deceptively confusing little set today.

BrickLink does not provide an API for accessing its inventories, Rebrickable does.

The reason that it’s saying you don’t have any minifigures in your collection is that you don’t. I stole them all! ;~)

For some reason if i go to search in brickset and look up a set, say 60156, then it just shows “No sets matched the search and this also doesnt in themes or any other set so i have to go to a different app to just look at a set.
