Double points worked but no freebie. I was ordering a bricklink set, so suspect that has something to do with it. Happy with double points though!

By in United States,

Does anybody have firm confirmation that this applies to BLDP Preorders? Jay Ong repports on his blog that it does (regarding 2x point). Seems farfetched, to me.

Double points are shown when I add a BrickLink Designer Program set to my cart, so I think Jay is correct. The points will not be credited until the set is dispatched, however, as usual for the BrickLink Designer Program.

If it was a BLDP pre order, GWP will not apply to any pre order.

By in Australia,

Ended up ordering that pesky Minifigure Vending Machine that has been on backorder since 1st June here. So much on backorder atm :/

By in Canada,

A good time as any to get "The evolution of STEM" to remain in the 'tribute' theme. I'll complete that with a large PAB order that has been sitting for quite a while now.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that an afol in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of several bricks. However little known the feelings or views of such an afol may be on their first entering a shop, this truth is so well fixed in the mind of Lego, that their fortune is considered the rightful property of their company.

I thought the threshold was going to be much higher, so I planned on ordering Sherlock and Pixar. When I saw what it actually was, I went back over my various lists to see what else would work, but the only thing was the Italian fountain, and I'm not sure about that, as I already have the smaller one. So I stuck with my original plan.

As nice as it would be to get double points on the bricklink order, I'm not willing to go through the hassle of cancelling and reordering, especially when Translyvania is so close to being sold out.

I was surprised Lego decided to join the celebrations for JA 250. I didn't think it would. I'm missing out on so much of it because of timing and where I live, it's nice not to miss out on this part.

I just took the risk and canceled and reordered my BDP Series 5 order, incl Transylvania. Can confirm that you get double points. I trust my order will be fulfilled since there are still more than 2k units available.

Bit the bullet and ordered 21358 vending machine to get the JA freebie and double points. I’ve noticed a few customised versions online with higher ‘glazed’ sections to add more minifigs but the parts list for the set doesn’t show either the clear curved element or the ball pods so short of buying two sets is it just a case of waiting until these items get listed at some point?

Book Nook, The Good Sherlock one, not the awful LOTR one and Two Microfighters needed, over by .97p, think that's my closest yet and not another unneeded keyring in sight lol

The Malfoy family gets a house, Jane Austin will come to visit. Order achievement unlocked.

So... Jane Austen was a wizard who had the Philosopher's Stone? (You might think that since I'm an American, I'd say Sorcerer's Stone, but I'm probably a bigger fan of Fullmetal Alchemist than I am of Harry Potter.)

Medieval Market Village for me, since it retires this year. Might consider yet another order tomorrow to get a GWP for my partner as well.

Jane Austin is just a homunculus absorbing the sins of pride found in the Malfoy Mansion.

The LOTR one is the only one that keeps selling out at my local LEGO store. The employee I spoke with said they are gone within an hour of the store opening on shipment days. They have the other two. Could be that they are getting more stock of the other two, but the LOTR one is selling just fine

Without arguing too strongly, I would think that this has more to do with popularity of the IP and rarity of sets from said IP, than any comparison of quality between the sets.

London Postcard (for a friend), Upscaled F1 Minifigure (for myself), and Williams Racing FW14B (for my nephew). Managed to get the Jane Austen GWP as well.

Its an awful looking set IMO and not at all in the same standard, IMO of the sherlock. Square peg round hole. Im sure a book nook of the books and a book with sides, could have been done much better

By in Ireland,

Dropped €300 in gift cards and €100 in cash today, got 2 of the Jane Austin sets and 6250 points.. I’ll take that as a win! Although I miss when the store employees don’t go wow.. you have that many points (70k)

Just did the same. Painless process to cancel and get £30 more in vip points as if ordered transylvania and tortuga. Worth doing!

Yep, just cancelled and re-ordered my Antique Shop! Double points for me!

I usually wait to get these GWP’s on the aftermarket. The timing rarely works out to warrant me spending $150 at Lego when the GWP is available.

I'm glad this was GWP - I would never have gotten it otherwise.

Interesting to see the BrickLink Transylvania set progress bar go back to the beginning as ‘Not Funded’. Has everyone cancelled their orders to reorder to get double points, a glitch or did they raised the bar another 10,000?

Rarer than the 1/1 Sherlock Holmes set? Or 1/2, if you count the non-specific CMF detective in a deerstalker ensemble.

Its a Gandalf minifigure, a mid Balrog, and a 90 dollar frame worth maybe 10. That's what is wrong with the quality.

Obviously others put a higher value on it than you, if it keeps selling out.

Yeah back up near the MAX now. Still lower than it was 2 days ago when I ordered. People are definitely fiddling with their orders

By in United States,

I know I said I was going to get 21357 and 21358, but the latter qualifies for this on its own which is why it was the only one I got yesterday), so I'll leave Luxo for if they have an interesting Black Friday promo. Maybe by then, I'll have even whittled that backlog down...

Yeah, after I decided to cancel my 21358 order (because it was backordered, and I wasn't one hundred percent positive of getting the GWP) and decided to get 21357 and some other stuff, that's how I pushed my order over the threshold. I even ordered myself some grotesques! https://brickset.com/parts/6492553

By in Brazil,

I don't get it. They run a promo for 7 days but the thing is already sold out in the States after 2 days? Can't they prepare more inventory?
