Pirates of the Caribbean sets now available...
Posted by Grahame,
Eight PotC sets are now available from LEGO Shop At Home for North American customers. Note that set 4191 is now being called "Zombie Pirates" and not "The Captain's Cabin" as first informed.

When Lego is uploading the instructions for those sets ¿?
Europe gets left behind. Why Lego, why?
Hmm, I've tried to click on the ''More Views'' Button and ''Spin'' and ''Zoom'' Button, however it won't come up. It has the loading sign however it just doesn't come up. Also it says it's not available in any Country, Maybe there still working on it, I can't wait for Instructions.
Can't get the 'More Views' to work either, but was able to place an order for 4 of the sets.
^ LEGO often take their time to get the 'more views' working for new sets, and consequently I can't download the images to upload here :-(
@HUW Any idea when we could get our hands on these in the UK mate?
the lego reviews are always too biased... O_O
They're also already available in LEGO.com for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. :)
And the German and French names for 4191 still translate to "captain's cabin". So I guess either that or "Zombie Pirates" is just a mistake...
also, it's ironic that Europe and the UK and other countries close to them are left behind, as what Adventurer said. and i have also encountered the same problem ktranger had said
I also unfortunately cannot seem to get the ''More Views'' Button working either, :(
Awesome! I just bought one of the sets marked the 'captains cabin'! It's going to be rare!
Regarding UK and Europe being "left behind" - please keep in mind that the US is still the largest consumer market in the world and that the bulk of the largest retailers in the world are also based there. Simply economics would dictate that such a market would recieve more attention - particularly with exclusive retailer relationships.
It gets really old to see people whine on these comment sections when they obviously haven't taken the time to really understand how business works. If you really understood the "behind the scenes" you'd realize that given the nature of the game, we Lego fans have extremely little to gripe about when compared to fanatics of other manufacturers.
So if you live in the UK or EU, please take the time to complain about actual problems - not the perceived slights of someone to lazy or ignorant to understand how businesses work.
^ @serviceburo,
I am sure there is a bit more to their decision than simply market size...
Especially when it is a time-sensitive license of an upcoming Summer movie... Basically, they set a "latest possible availability date, (i.e. May 1st)", and then they do everything they can to beat that date in any country they can, simply because it helps them to beat other toy brands who will be selling similar types of POTC licensed products, like action figures, foam swords, etc.
Many kids/parents will be ready to buy any POTC merch they see, so TLC wants to get LEGO sets on the shelf ASAP!
This will be true for any country, regardless of the total market size.
ORDERED: all 7 sets :)
Man why couldn't LEGO have made on announcement that they were being released today? I would have bought them from here and gotten VIP points :/
When I spoke to the lego rep on the phone...she seemed surprised they were available, she told me the last thing she heard was the release date was going to be 5-1-11.
She stated she had to go to the lego site and confirm they were really available.
@vamproe, i got the same reaction when i called TRU over the weekend to see if they had the sets in store since they were for sale online. They had to go to the LEGO isle to make sure they were actually there.
just bought several stts including the ship my my official lego store at the mall. and there was a limit of 1 of each set
I need to call my TRU to find out if the have the harbour and alien encounter sets, TRU online shows they may be in stores but not online.
I didn't see any Harbour or Alien encounter sets at my TRU... none, just Pirates of the Caribbean sets.
I ordered 2 Fountain of youth sets through TRU and got free ground shipping along with the buy one get one half off. Also, the 4191 set I bought at TRU the other day says Captains Cabin. I wonder if the Zombie Pirates name isn't just a booboo typo. I have seen that before, like the Dathomir Speeder is actually going to be called the Sith Night speeder.
The film is being released May 20 both here in the States as well as the UK so I don't suspect it will be too long of a wait for the Brits. :o)
I always wondered: Is Danemark getting all new sets first of all other countries? Or is US always the first?
my tru told me that they show non in the wearhouse yet, so maybe next week for pirates?
As I walked into my local Lego store today they were just finishing stocking the shelves with these. I was so psyched :D
These new sets have a wide array of new pieces that are very distinct from previous ones, mainly the ones in the Fountain of Youth and Zombie Pirates, specifically the globe piece and the dark green pieces. I can't wait until I can get my hands on them!
@aquafreak125, thanks for the shout mate.
I am also happy to say my local toys r us were putting out the sets today.

They changed Zombie Pirates backed into Captain's Cabin again.
Spotted all 8 at the new LEGO store in Beachwood (Cleveland, OH) yesterday!
Most of the sets are available at the LEGO Store in Tigard, OR as of today. Some have already sold out.

ya the tigard store told me it was a limit of 1 kinda set perperson, so no duplicate buying which is great. gives everybody a chance.
