Burbank, Calif. – Aug. 19, 2025 – Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC, and the LEGO Group today announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a brand-new action-adventure videogame inviting players to embark on an epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, inspired by the 86-year history of Batman films, television shows, comics, and games, all combined with the TT Games’ legendary LEGO humor.
Developed by TT Games, creators of the best-selling LEGO Games franchise, including the critically acclaimed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and published by Warner Bros. Games, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will release in 2026 for PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 system, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Wishlisting for the game begins today.*
“We are thrilled to announce LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a fantastic new game designed to entertain and provide enjoyment for every type of player,” said JB Perrette, President and CEO, Streaming & Games, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Our remarkable team at TT Games is working hard to deliver a fresh take on the beloved Batman universe, offering new and improved features beyond previous LEGO games that will excite both longtime fans and gamers of all levels.”
“All of us at TT Games are incredibly proud to reveal LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a brand-new game that’s a real celebration of everything Batman,” said Jonathan Smith, Strategic Director & Head of Development Team, TT Games. “We take players on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the legendary hero of Gotham City, incorporating iconic moments from across Batman’s history with our special LEGO twist. Our all-new crime-fighting combat features are amazing fun and take LEGO gameplay to an entirely new level.”
“Whether he’s the wrathful Dark Knight, the brilliant detective, or the unlikely father of the ‘Batfam,’ Batman has constantly evolved—shaped by the world around him while remaining a timeless symbol," said Jim Lee, President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer, DC. “This game brings together nearly every facet of his legacy, letting you experience the full range of what makes Batman iconic. Built with incredible care, creativity, and deep respect for the mythos, TT Games has crafted a love letter to the world of Batman.”
“This is a Batman game that fans will instantly connect with,” said Fredrik Löving, Senior Vice President and Global Head of GAME, The LEGO Group. “Our partners at Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, and DC have created an experience that delivers the style, intensity, and authenticity of Gotham City’s greatest hero, infused with the family-friendly fun of the LEGO brand, making it an exciting experience for LEGO Batman fans old and new.”
The adventure begins with the origins of Batman as a young Bruce Wayne trains with The League of Shadows, and throughout the story-led campaign, players will build a family of allies with well-known characters including Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul to help confront an ever-growing threat from a Rogues Gallery of DC Super-Villains, facing the likes of The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra's al Ghul, Bane, and more.
With a dynamic new LEGO Batman combat system that encapsulates the Caped Crusader’s distinctive fighting style, every hit packs a punch, with fluid attack chains, counters, and over-the-top takedowns. Whether playing as Batman solo or in the two-player local cooperative mode, players can use iconic Bat-gadgets such as Batarangs to distract or stun enemies and the Batclaw to reel them in. Partner characters have their own signature gear, including Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip, providing a variety of options to approach every enemy encounter and boss battle. For those looking for a tougher playthrough, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight goes beyond the familiar LEGO game experience with the new Caped Crusader enhanced difficulty setting and an even more challenging Dark Knight difficulty level.
The game takes place against the backdrop of Gotham City, an open-world LEGO playground full of crimes to stop, puzzles to solve, rewards to collect, and surprises to discover around every corner, down every alleyway, and on every rooftop. Players can grapple, glide, or drive through the environment, zipping from building to building with Batman’s grapple launcher, soaring over the city with the Batglider, or cruising around in style with a range of Batmobiles and Batcycles. The Batcave can also be customized to display vehicles, trophies, and collectibles, plus an assortment of wearable Batsuits based on past Batman related media.
Players can unlock the Golden Age Batsuit inspired by Detective Comics #27 (1939) by signing up for a WB Games account.**

Guess Lego DC is not dead. Hoping for a decently priced comic wave soon.
Looks like a nice kids version of the Rocksteady combat system, along with a few other “Arkham” gameplay features.
It would be nice if something like the Skywalker Saga were created, an adaptation of the Batman films by Burton, Nolan, Schumacher and Reeves.
I'm surprised that TT still has the Lego license, given the bad PR that went around about work conditions regarding Skywalker Saga's development.
I notice that there's no release shown here for the Switch(es), PS4, or Xbox One, that's interesting. I take it that this is a high-budget title? It doesn't look that complex at a glance, but maybe I'm just being dumb...

The trailer does show a Switch 2 release, but nothing about the others. Not sure why it's not listed in the photo on the website. It is in the FAQ, at least.

Ah, that's what I get for not actually watching the trailer lol. Thanks for the correction!
Cloth cape or plastic do make up your mind lego
the nostalgia of Batman II for the wii is all coming back to me
and adventures from the television they say? really hope that means the 60s tv show
the level form the third game was really fun
I'm a little iffy on this game. One the one hand, I like applying the Skywalker Saga engine to other licenses and it seems like a good homage to Batman, but I also think that Batman is over-represented in Lego, and would really like a Crisis on Infinite Earths-style game, like what was teased at the end of DC Super-Villains. Overall, it's not what I ordered, but I think it will be a good meal regardless.
Not being a dogmatic adaptation of the movies does sound good, though who knows how well they manage level design this time. Still, warrants picking up at some point.
This and the new Arkham set are the best things to come from Lego DC in an age!
I prefer the original stories as opposed to those off existing movies or TV. I’d take a comic inspired story or completely original any day. I wonder if this was LEGO or DC dictating basing these off the movies as opposed to a DC Universe game which includes more characters.

I believe this is the last TT / LEGO game. They've cut ties beyond this last game, if I remember right. It's certainly the end of an era in LEGO games.
i've had just about enough of Batman being the only DC character LEGO can be bothered to give any attention to
LEGO LOBO!!!! Give me a freakin DC Lego game all about the Main Man!
I liked that new Bane Big fig and penguin too I wonder if we'll get sets from this or a polybag when you buy the game?
Wait, didn't Lego ended the partnership with TT games after the atrocious working condition on the Skywalker saga?
Now the dream of getting a sequel game to Lego Jurassic World might just come true!
hopefully this means we get more DC sets
Why is the voice acting so bad tho…
Dang now I might have to get a freaking switch 2

Whatever you’ve heard about TT Games is probably just hyperbole. Lego never cut ties with TT Games, it has however decided to diversify Lego games beyond what TT provides for them. Some news outlets of questionable integrity took this info, smooshed it together with reports of development crunch and management conflict, and published some creative speculation for clicks.

Excuse me, that was Matt Berry's dulcet tones as Bane at the end there!!
Anyone else noticed that the two versions of the batmobiles represented in the trailer are not the official set versions?
LEGO Batman 4! If this isn’t on NS2, I’m getting divorced and living in a van down by the river.
Matt Berry as Bane. Nice.
I hope Clem Fandango makes a cameo appearance.

More Batmobiles for LEGO to release.

I thought the tumbler was the set version?
I've thought before that it might have been interesting if the original Lego Batman game had been a loose adaptation of the movies using the comic-based designs from the sets. Since it is an original story, it sticks out to me next to the other TT Lego games from around that time.

Forget that, I want them to finally finish LEGO: The Hobbit!

And that's definitely not the Colin Farrell Penguin. Bane also has nothing really to do with any of the physical mnifig versions.
Easter egg galore, I love it.

Besides Matt Berry though, I have to agree with him. Batman and Heath Ledger Joker sound really bad. Especially when compared to Troy Baker's Batman in Lego Batman 2 and 3.

I don't have a current gen console yet, but we gotta face the fact: We're 5 years into this generation. Probably past the halfway mark. It would be like asking for an original Xbox/PS2/Gamecube port of something made in 2011. Not unheard of, but not something to be counted on.
I love Lego Batman 2 game and this looks great as a sequel.
Maybe feature Lego Batman movie soon?
Interesting redesign of the Matt Reeves Batmobile, closer to what a lot of the MOCs were doing
Oh man I hope they do a full new Batman wave properly based solely on this game!
CMF’s to small sets, medium and a couple large sets/vehicles.
NO UCS!

Yeah! The trailer kind of made me wish it would be another LEGO Batman movie, but alas...
I'm not going to lie, I wasn't really interested in clicking this trailer. It wasn't until the comments made it clear that Berry is in this, and that man is a treasure, albeit a treasure made of the FINEST HAM.
I'm not sure if Berry's fine, fine ham is enough to save this production. I agree that the rest of the voice-acting is pretty miss-and-miss. I would have liked Will Arnett to reprise his role as Batman, but failing that, I would at least have liked someone who was into playing the part, unlike this guy who's just Bat-Phoning it in.

But how do they compare to the shadow box version?
(...really? Nobody beat me to that? You're slipping, Brickset.)
I'm so happy that we're finally getting another TT games Lego game. Unfortunately I still haven't got a next gen console, I do have to admit that the Batman voice actor is alright though.
Ok, now this one looks like a great mix of everything Batman.

Batman is owned by Warner Brothers, and Lego no longer is partnered with them for films, so it isn't happening. and anyway, We already had a Lego batman film in 2017, and we will probably never reach that high peak of perfection again.

That's fair, although I feel like I still usually see last-gen consoles get releases for multiplat games like this; the current gen is still pretty inaccessible five years in, and a lot of devs don't feel the need to rely on the extra horsepower. Maybe my perception is a little warped as a Nintendo guy though, we've had the same console for eight years priced like it just came out, lol.
Ah, the Lego Batman game, they when from strength to strength; each building off the last, and getting better. '3' was my high-mark, loved all the different locations, characters, even the cameos (although I liked Conan O'Brian MORE than Kevin Smith...). Still have to play 'DC Supervillians', and I do 'wish' A 'Lego Batman 2' Movie were 'on the table'...or at least more DVDs...:|

Arnett only played the LEGO Movie version of LEGO Batman (TLM, TLBM, TLM2). The late Kevin Conroy voiced the role in the supervillain game. Every other instance of the character has been voiced by Troy Baker, who probably has more Batman credits to his name than any actor still alive, and second only to Conroy (Jason Omara might be third?). He did ten performances for direct-to-DVD movies, as well as the second and third LEGO Batman games (there was no dialogue in the first game). It's been several years since I played or watched any of the LEGO Batman games or DVDs, but I'm guessing that's Baker. He's played Batman, Joker, and three different versions of Robin (Grayson, Todd, and Drake). As far as I am aware, he's the first actor to ever voice LEGO Batman in any capacity. He may not be the most famous, but he is the definitive voice of LEGO Batman.
As long as the game has Manou Kersting voor Bruce's voice in Flemmish, I'm interested.
