Random set of the day: The Avengers Quinjet City Chase
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 76032 The Avengers Quinjet City Chase, released during 2015. It's one of 16 Marvel Super Heroes sets produced that year. It contains 722 pieces and 5 minifigs, and its retail price was US$79.99/£69.99.
It's owned by 7,519 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $115.80, or eBay.

Got this as a birthday gift years ago
Seems like some serious overkill. Cities, you might find, don’t move very fast, nor are they particularly well-armed in most cases.
this aint my place to comment, as Im no marvel buff
but I will say though, that truck is cute!
I'll try to sell mine soon. The jet has a decent size (not shrunk like recent ones) and the character selection was outstanding, even if not entirely accurate.
Should be tagged "Korea" due to the scene's location. Subject matter still is more Korean than 6299401. What on earth is the story behind that promotion?
Seems to be the same as WCORGI, one of four "BrickAMe" dogs designed by a Lego Certified Professional that seem to have been exclusive to Emart in Korea in November 2018, for the Year of the Dog. According to Bricklink WCORGI and 6299401 are the same thing and was also available in China, but the other dogs weren't, and don't have actual set numbers. Is 6299401 the Chinese release? If so, the image is inaccurate, as it did not come in the same "Korea Limited Edition" box but in a plastic zipped bag with the expected Chinese text.
All this just raises more questions about why the Corgi in particular ended up in China and not the rest.
The Age of Ultron...
The age that lasted about a week? Maybe even just a couple of days.
Time definitely works differently on the Internet.
Decent build but the new one is far superior.

Technically, the point was that it COULD have been the Age of Ultron if they didn’t win. “What if…?” Made that evident.
I didn't buy this set but I definitely tracked down that Vision figure on Bricklink afterwards.
BEEP BEEP
I gotvone of these on Ebay without Vision for $55, which was a great deal because Ultron alone sells for that much

Part of me really wants these two stories to actually be the same set, but I fear the gulf in geography between you two makes that unlikely XD

More like "The Minor Setback of Ultron"....
I was so happy when I got this set, although I do wish there was more interior space for passengers.
Hey, they remade this set this year!
I remember thinking it was a bit fast after the last one back then. Ah, when 3 years was fast versus 1 year...
I like that the truck explodes open to reveal the cradle. I miss complex action features like that. The jet also drops off the motorcycl iirc.
Yeah, the interior is super small. Basically only the cargo area, cockpit and drop hatch in the middle:

"Quickly, Widow! To the Americar!"
"That's a bike, Steve."
"Well, 'Ameribike' just doesn't work for me, NATASHA."
Wish I’d got this set at the time, I feel like the Ultron and Quicksilver minifigures are better than the newer version, and the play features make this look more fun.
Ultron is walking on his repulsor exhausts; that's just funny.

I wish I'd gotten it, too. The only Quinjets I have are 6869, 76127, and the mini one in 76196.

Quicksilver, you say? I did not see that coming. Then again - neither did anyone else.
Looking back on it, the AoU line was probably the best MCU subtheme. This was one of the weaker ones, but the Quinjet still holds up.
Great figure selection as well.

Oh, are we doing AoU memes? I've got no strings to hold me down, so I can make another one.

It doesn't seem much more expensive on Bricklink than it was ten years ago at retail (inflation-adjusted) so it might still be worth a pick-up.

Unless it’s Sokovia
I have 14 of the 16 sets released that year, minus the 2 promo sets which looked like SDCC exclusives? Not sure as I don't have any SDCC sets.
I even bought 5 of the Avenger's Tower to build a bigger and taller version.

The Throne of Ultron and the Sam Captain America were both SDCC exclusives, yes. You can tell by the set numbers, which always began with “SDCC”, even though there’s no description identifying them as such.
