Posted by ,

Today's random minifigure is hp321 Draco Malfoy - Hogwarts Robe, Black Tie, a Harry Potter figure that came in one set, 76390 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar, released during 2021.

Our members collectively own a total of 7,280 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $2.40.

Ah, it's the Unhoused Draco. That is, this is from before he gets Sorted, so no House crest, no House tie.

If I wanted to write a simple email on this keyboard, something that said, hi, did you get the memo? What would that look like?

By in Germany,

Seeing the newer HP figures always makes me wonder if the original 2001 line would have used the short legs for the kids too, if they had been available in 2001.

Dobby got short legs in 4731 (2002), as did Griphook in 4714, which also included Harry who (still) had regular legs.

But that's the thing. Short legs were introduced for Ep2 Yoda, so 2002 was the first year. Harry already existed from 2001, but Dobby and Griphook did not. For the latter, it's less of an issue if they use them because there weren't preexisting minifigs to match them with. For Harry, it'd be weird if he suddenly got shorter every birthday.

Just noticed that the sidebar is currently bookended by Harry and Draco. I love it when stuff like that happens.

They certainly didn't use them for the 2010 reboot.
