Funny that a figure from Guardians of the Galaxy should get picked, very shortly after I finished watching another James Gunn superhero movie.

I find coincidences to be very common when it comes to Huwbot and Random minifig and set of the day.

I really do need to pick this guy up. He’s been on my BL wanted list for quite some time, but I haven’t pulled the trigger. While I’m at it, this is the only figure with side keg printing for short legs that I even know of. Great dual-molding, and the arm printing is fantastic!

71012-2 technically has side leg printing, but it’s not near as intricate as this one.

I agree; the printing on this figure is excellent!

Inquiring minds want to know. How does it feel to be beaten to the first comment?

Interesting that the price for the Minifigure is higher than the new price for the poly bag set it came in.

The minifig also came in an SDCC exclusive set, and anyone trying to Bricklink that set is going to go after the minifig directly, without checking to see what other options there are. Typically, even if it comes in another set, that set's price will be higher than the minifig's, but because this polybag is almost nothing but the minifig, there's less to drive the price higher. If people focus on the minifig over the polybag, higher demand will help push the price higher, as Sellers often price their stock based on a percentage of current listings. As Buyers focus on the lowest cost listings, the current average will continue to drift higher, dragging along any new listings that are priced against that metric.

You sometimes see the same thing happen with Used parts vs New ones. By all logic, New should always cost more than Used, but if the demand comes primarily from shoppers who only buy Used, they again will clean up the lower priced items, drive the current listings average up, and cause Sellers who rely entirely on the Price Guide to list their wares to keep increasing their prices until they exceed the New average.

Looking through all the short legs, it appears that 71022-15 has the feet printed on the front and side (but not the top of the toes!). 71021-6 has dual-molded 3-band short legs, and then has the ballerina shoes printed over the lower band of color. 71034-5 has the same thing, but with black shoes. So interesting that the only other four instances of side printing on short legs are all from the CMF line, and half of those were also dual-molded.
