LEGO items coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in January 2026!

Posted by ,

LEGO Animal Crossing was launched last year, and seems to have had a positive reception on the whole. Now that LEGO has brought Animal Crossing to life in bricks, Nintendo is bringing bricks to the game for the first time next year!

A free update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be arriving on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on January 15, 2026, with new LEGO items that can be purchased and added to your island home, or worn by your villager.

You can watch the full announcement video here, and view images after the break...

What do you think of the LEGO items, and are you excited for this update? What Animal Crossing sets would you like to see LEGO produce next? Let us know in the comments below!

This is legit awesome! After LEGO doing things for Nintendo for so long, this feels really cool to know Nintendo is returning the favor!

LEGO and Nintendo are the perfect couple. Both white letters on red logos, extremely litigious, went trough major restructuring after financial trouble in 2004. Both have made plastic bricks and been in a lawsuit with each other, both aim to present a family-friendly wholesome image. They both have extremely dedicated fans and purists who will buy the latest overpriced products of increasingly dubious quality. Both weaponize nostalgia and FOMO. Both even now have got into the theme park and movie business. Both have since collaborated with their biggest historical competitor, having finally buried the hatchet with Hasbro and SEGA.

So cool! I hope to see every villager transforms into their minifigure form in the game one day XD No need exclusive redeem codes obtained from the actual Lego sets like in Fortnite XDD

I like some of those builds, but not in the rodeo-clown colour-schemes that are presented in the screenshots. It does make me want to set fire to that fireplace, but not as Miyamoto intended. And it wouldn't even work, thanks to the bromine that's used as a fire-retardant in Lego-pieces.

Also - a yellow toolbox? We don't have physical yellow Lego toolboxes. You sit on a multicoloured and hard-edged plastic throne of LIES.

Most of the times you can recolor it by the llamas. So i wouldn’t worry.
I am just glad they are doing an update. Reasons to visit my island again.

Now I know what's replacing the easter room.

I'd like to see Redd & his trawler as a set - maybe with some dodgy paintings

By in Ireland,

I'm really looking forward to this. I've gotten all the actual sets too so will have to make real life versions of the furniture to add to a house.

I'd still like to see Lego release a "your villager's house" type set that's like 77057 but with more furniture and a few different torsos and hair pieces to apply to your villager. With the Animal Crossing sets turning up in the sale sets recently, it seems the range might not have sold well. If it was more popular, I'd like to see more small sets that were just new furniture to include in your house. A bit like how dolls house stuff is sold.

We need moar squirrels! Considering the Splatoon content in the upcoming update, I'm hoping for Cece and Viché.

Before I had my stroke *and thus lost most use of my left arm and hand), I'd been thinking of getting into Animal Crossing. If I were still fully able-bodied (or at least had full use of my left arm and hand), I'd definitely be picking it up now, if I hadn't already.

I recall hearing about 3D-printed grips that enable people with one (working) hand to be able to hold and use both halves of the Joycon, you may want to look into that!

Now all we need is super Mario Lego Content (I'm joking of course. Please don't do that, LEgo Mario... What's that knife you're holding?! Please NOO!)

By in France,

This is really exciting, and gets me eager to see new sets featuring all those new game characters -- desperately hoping that Mipha & Sidon from the Zelda series are featured in the game, and end up as minifigs as well down the line! One can dream!

Not a single Fabuland reference, what a missed opportunity

This is awesome! We really need a LEGO Nintendo game, either LEGO Mario or LEGO The Legend of Zelda.

By in United States,

I believe there were some LEGO Dots patterns available a few years ago as well, so this would be the second in-game collaboration.

Also, LEGO please make Raymond and/or Lolly minifigures.

I was looking all over for it, but I couldn't see it. I don't know how many times I had to look at the pictures before I saw it. The problem is that I thought I saw the word "mug," not "rug."

Hah! My bad, i didn’t know you were from the
llama police, or alpaca police. But Cyrus and Reese indeed! I did make pictures at their wedding, but totally forgot their names.
I do hope they will appear in a physical set one day though.
Extra addition to my post: I saw three alpacas today. A white, black and brown one. Thumbs up!

I saw the video a few hours after it was uploaded and was busy for the rest of the day, so I only got the chance to post about it late last night, unfortunately. But I definitely would have done so earlier if I could!
