Lots of new LEGO Friends sets will be released on January 1st and we covered most in a previous article.

However, another set was added to LEGO.com after that article was published and it is probably the standout: 42691 Garden Restaurant! I think this 1465-piece looks spectacular, making great use of colour and capturing lovely architectural detail.

The set will cost £119.99, $129.99 or €129.99 and you can find some more images below...

Love that the cast evolved into a new generation.

Friends buildings > City buildings. Every. Single. Year.

Gorgeous Friends sets of this caliber almost feel like a yearly tradition now. I’m so glad Friends hit the ground running with 2026’s new colors.

By in United States,

Really cool set! North African architecture/cuisine is something that's not exactly common in Lego, and this take on it is absolutely gorgeous. Maybe the best use of the new warm pink color so far, too.

Fancy restaurant, has its own pool.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Looks like something you'd see in an African oasis

Gravatar
By in United States,

They did it. It’s a Casa Bonita Lego set

Paradisa is back, baby!

Very red city Morocco.

By in United States,

Love the build (out of my price range probably) but one thing sticks out like a sore thumb: This seems less like a restaurant and more like a hotel that ignores the bedrooms. There's a whole poolside and fireplace common area that aren't dining areas lol.

I've been wanting Friends to do a Paradisa homage for a while. This isn't that *exactly,* but it *does* have some of the same vibes.

By in Australia,

I love it, but I'm a little confused about the ground floor. Is that a living space? Is someone living on the ground flood, and the restaurant is the second floor and roof?

The shallow pool at the front gives it spa vibes.

By in Philippines,

Loving the Moroccan vibe and architecture of the Garden Restaurant!

By in Finland,

The set is really gorgeous, but the interior choices are really weird when you look closer.

For a restaurant, there's no kitchen but a buffet of some sorts - right next to the toilet that has no doors.

There's also a lounge with a pool right outside of it, with no showers or anything hinting of a dressing room.

I just have to question the hygiene level of this so-called restaurant! XD

I've seen restaurants that had open-air pools before, but usually the only things swimming in them are fish. And occasionally the arm candy of the guy who's writing a check to buy the building.

The real Lego Architecture was the Friends we made along the way.

With tagines to boot.

By in Germany,

I thought it was a Disney Aladdin set.

Doesn't look like Friends to me at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The new old looking pink is great. Hopefully Paradisa mocs can truly thrive going forward.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This is a very well trained cat as it uses the toilet just like humans. Nice set. Those tagine bowls will be repurposed as old style speakers soon enough.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Here's the bigger friends set I was missing! weeee! Looks lovely!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Pretty good, although - those roof-tiles, is that supposed to be algae?

This is a deathtrap. A beautiful deathtrap.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Marvellous! I need more money. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The set looks really cool, but it’s more a house than a restaurant. There’s a living room and a pool. The kitchen is hardly that. There is no stove, sink, or refrigerator.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Guess the restaurant title is because there are no bedrooms or bathroom to make it into a Marrakesh holiday retreat, although you don't usually sit in the restaurant pond?

Gravatar
By in United States,

If it was blue and white, it would look like a Moroccan restaurant. It's pretty neat.

Please. That cat is so overweight it was probably set down there by a human, and it’s afraid to jump down lest it shatter a bone on landing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Like this, and Friends is absolutely not one of my themes. Interesting to see and feels like it could have the same crossover appeal as 41757 Botanical Garden and opportunities for MoCs and playing around with Modularity options, while setting the Minidolls to one side and adapting it for Minifigs. While it is the usual eye popping Friends colour there's a consistency (even a conservatism) with it which makes it definitely work across themes. One to keep an eye on (for future discounts).

I think it's a British Shorthair, so they are rather chunky!! I say that my cat is not fat, just 'big furred'!!

I will definitely get this set, but £120 is a little steep. Will wait for a discount.

It's fluff! The cat insists that it is fluff, not fat! Also, you should feed him. He's hungry.

Ooh I didn't even notice those! I was distracted by the lamps and tea service.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m not digging the color, but the build is very nice!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It sucks that for a company that talks so much about not pigeonholing boys and girls into stereotypes, they continue to do so.

As Lego seems to see it, girls like houses. And boys like vehicles.

Friends has the coolest buildings. City barely gets any, mostly just vehicles - rehashes of Police cars, Fire trucks, Coastguard boats, etc.

Well, City fans want amazing looking buildings too! And that is exactly what this is - an amazing building. Just like most of the other Friends line!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Friends is proving time and time again the wonders of diversity! Love the morrocan influences and the Tin Man hat as tajines is amazing part usage!

Nonsense! There are three felines in this set: a kitten, a cat, and a basketball.

Gravatar

Wizard of Oz Tin Man hat has been recolored to dark orange. What is the item on the table, some kind of food?

Gravatar

This really is the Friends take on 6376 Breezeway Café

Tagines! A Maghrebi dish cooked and served in that style of earthenware pot. Really clever parts usage for that!

Gravatar

it's crazy how much better the friends buildings are than the city ones

If you've ever been to Marrakech, you know it's spot on with the riad vibe. Amazing work.

Judging from the ultrasound in https://brickset.com/sets/42696-1/Animal-Vet-Clinic, it's neither fluff nor fat — the cat is in fact pregnant!

Well, that's just rude. Just because that cat may or may not be pregnant doesn't mean it can't be hairy and/or fat.

With what, a basketball?

By in United Kingdom,

The use of floral pieces at the top of the columns is inspired. Great design work.

And to echo what someone else said - why can't the City range have nice buildings mixed in with the 17 vehicle remakes?

Does the Friends universe have a Police station?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Who designed this set? It is sooo beautiful.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Also reminds me of 6416 Poolside Paradise, which also has restaurant dining on the upper floor and a swimming pool with lounge area on the ground floor. Love it!

No police station, but a police officer: https://brickset.com/minifigs/frnd0575/friends-isabella-(nougat)-dark-azure-uniform-dark-blue-trousers-dark-blue-police-hat

Would be an instant-buy if it had more naturalistic colors. I can't use this for anything in pink.
