Random minifig of the day: frnd0193
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random minifigure is frnd0193 Friends Naomi (Light Nougat) - Lime Halter Top with Dark Green Dots, Dark Purple Shorts, Sand Blue Shoes, a Friends figure that came in one set, 30400 Gymnastic Bar, released during 2017.
Our members collectively own a total of 2,391 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $0.90.

Hilarious that Lego would even think of making a gym based set with minidolls.
I saw "Gymnastic Bar" and thought, "I don't remember owning a set like that." But when I moused over the set number, I realized that it was a polybag set, and that I do own it. But then, I have almost two hundred polybag sets; I can't be expected to remember the name of every one of them.
I remember my sister really wanted this set because of that hair piece, which wasn’t super common at the time.

She might do better in Men's Gymnastics. A lot of those events require keeping your legs together.
Why is that figure photographed from up above?
Also is she wearing a sliced kiwi print shirt? That's... weird and cool at the same time somehow.
Brunnette Mia isn't real, she can't hurt you!
Brunnette Mia:
When I first read the set name, I was envisioning an actual bar for gymnasts to go after a hard day's work(smoothies being served of course). But it being a piece of equipment makes more sense. I have no recollection of this set, but I wasn't paying too much attention to Friends at the time. Also with polybag variability, it's possible it wasn't even sold in my area.

Haha, I know the feeling.
I often come across sets where I think "huh, I don't remember getting that one".
Then again, I'm getting old... ;-)
In any case, imho that's a really nice minidoll design, as far as these go.

Be careful, she is dressed in the traditional bad guy colours of purple and green. And has some serious core strength looking at the pose she’s pulling off in the set picture. Don’t make her mad!
The producers didn't see a point in adding Naom, so she was quickly written out.
I don't know any other Friends set that doesn't feature a minidoll that isn't one of the core characters.

I'm assuming Naomi is from Australia, and her shirt serves to let her competitors from New Zealand know what she thinks of them.

I feel like maybe you put one too many negatives in there. The way I'm reading it, you're saying you don't know of any sets that only feature main characters.
I see her outfit and I'm thinking that she's a fan of the Incredible Hulk.

Uhm, no, not quite. I wanted to say: I don't know any Friends sets that feature minidolls but don't feature Andrea, Olivia, Mia, Steph and/or Emma. I'm aware that there are Friends sets without minidolls (Magazine gifts, Flower polybags etc.) and Minidoll sets that aren't within the Friends line (Disney).

Yeah, I figured you were trying to say you didn’t know of any other sets that only featured supporting characters (human, so excluding any pet-only polybags), but the way it’s written it looks like you don’t know of any sets that only feature main characters. Pretty sure that would include almost every sub-$10 set they’ve ever released, again excluding the pet-only sets.

Yeah, I see, one too many negatives. My life is full of negatives. Look what it's doing to me! Neagtivity is leaking out everywhere!

It is cut out from the official image, and presumably this was taken from above to show the equipment clearly. The main box art could not be used as it is an action shot and so has other parts in the way. Sometimes the person cataloguing figures doesn't have the set or doesn't photograph the figures if there are already decent images from LEGO.
It is taken from this image ...

I think you mean negativity isn’t not leaking out everywhere.

It's the 0.5 selfie the kids are doing these days.

41000, 850967, and 11908 look like the only sub-100pc sets that only include supporting cast, unless you count Zobo, in which case 561906 and 561810 also count.
