Forget the minidoll. Let's talk about how awkward that rowboat looks.

Lore!

Energetic Kate is always on the move. She loves planning adventures: from climbing the highest peaks in the Clearspring Mountains, to spending a night in the creepiest part of the Whispering Woods, Kate is ready for anything.

Kate's favourite place is Ambersands Beach. She loves jet-skiing, surfing and snorkelling, often with her friend, Stephanie.

She is related to the pirate dark eyed Kate.

I actually won the set this figure comes in during a trivia contest a few years ago (well, I didn’t win 41094 , but the way i got this set was related to that trivia contest)

While minifigures look always pleased (They used to when they all had smiley faces), minidolls look like they are always having fun. Nice.

Kate hasn't been seen in a while, it can be inferred that Ross just creeped her out.

Is it the colour or the two leg-holders in the middle that bother you?

I suppose it's just awkward that it exists, given that both minidolls seem perfectly able to just walk on water. Can all Friends do this? Does this mean Jesus isn't just your friend, but he's also a Friend?

Aww. So sweet.

Uhm, this would imply that any minidoll, minifig and, in fact, any brick-built thing can walk or stay on water, as long the water is made from bricks, but brick sets haven't come with any actual water to date.

If you go by the set picture connected to our minifig of the day, maybe they're standing on a white plane and the water is just in tiny puddles in front of the light house and around the rock formation.
In that case, the boat is awkward because it lacks wheels.

Well. Yes. That would make the boat awkward, I agree. It would also make the lighthouse a deathtrap, and it might mean that Stephanie and/or Kate are involved in shipwrecking, which I believe carries a $100k fine.

Mayor Stephanie, is this why you got into politics?

Please explain deathtrap and shipwrecking when there's basically no water...
But to be honest, I lost traction where we really have gotten with this c0.

Although sometimes they're provided with alternate heads, which can have expressions that imply something else. Take a look at 41701's official review to see what I mean. Two of the alt heads are fine, But Sebastian doesn't look to be having fun.

Well, that's the point. Shipwreckers, or "wrackers", were a type of bandit who would lead ships ashore with beacons or false lighthouses - because in the dead of night, before GPS-tracking, a ship's crew would rely on light-signals to spot where the coast (and/or treacherous shore) would be. A real lighthouse doesn't necessarily light the way, it just shows you that land is nearby, the rest is up to your navigator.

By relying on a false signal, the ship would run aground, the bandits would climb aboard and take the precious cargo. How this story ends, depends on how murderous your versions of Kate and/or Stephanie are that day.

In a way it's kind of cool that TLG would devote a set to this kind of piracy, it's just that I didn't expect to see it pop up in the Friends-line.

Take it up with Scylla, Charybdis, and all the Sirens.

"Shipwreckers, or "wrackers", were a type of bandit who would lead ships ashore with beacons or false lighthouses."

And that gets considerably more difficult in modern times, because lighthouses can be identified by their light patterns.

Even dude in hotdog suit is having fun in 41129. Something wrong with Sebastian.

Well, he's at a street food market. Maybe one of the vendors should be avoided?

Ok, I knew about wrecking, but I still can't see how you connect it to the set, other, that in both lighthouses are involved?
