They need to bring back these type of gimmick sets for Ninjago, with the trading cards, and the amount of sets produced.

And the "stuff that gets tossed in a box, never to be touched again"? That includes the trading cards. I only ever bought them for the minifigs, and a little bit for the accessories.

I wonder why this photo doesn't include the mask when it's part of the set. Kind of feels like a spoiler without it.

QUICK LORE!!!

Nya wanted to join the Ninja. Thought it was a boy's club!

Made her own giant mech suit. Became a rival vigilante!

Eventually her identity was discovered and she joined the team!

QUIIICCKK LOOORRREEEE!!!!!

By in Turkey,

Color and armor looks nice. But as a set it has very few pieces. Play feature alone is not appealing to me.

The cards and the spinner game as a whole were a big part of the original Ninjago line’s success with kids. They don’t appeal to older AFOLs but the spinner sets sell for more with the cards on the secondary market and I distinctly remember the game being everywhere when I was a kid.

By in Netherlands,

I have quite a fondness for this one. It was my first 2012 spinner (Nya's had been my first 2011 spinner), because of the cool figure. It was the first time you could get Samurai X, as the mech only came out that summer. The mech was something I was hyped for ever since the toy fair pictures came online and it was great that this was already on the market.

Besides the cool new figure with dual expressions and then-new helmet and mask, it came with a decent selection of weapons too. The spear is another hint to the character's identity because it's a recolor of the blades from the Nya spinner but with a pole. The pearl dark silver spear was cool and useful too at the time. And although the katana wasn't too interesting, it is a must for a samurai character.

Even the spinner looks nice. Unlike the technicolor ones from the rest of the first 2012 wave it has a pearl dark gray base. But the contrast with that red top work, esecially compared to the 2011 spinners which couldn't do such a contrast because the tops were new.

Tl;dr: this set was great for if you wanted the figure.

By in Canada,

Got this, and her 'little' mech too...:)
Also, this was my first 'Lego Leak': saw a pic several month before this set and mech-set came out of a Lego Samurai, with a female face. Immediate thought was: Nya???...and I was right:).

They need to bring back that scimitar element, it's one of those unique classic-ish elements I love like the Adventurers cab (RIP BABY DINO ELEMENT, YOU ARE LOVED)

Looks like just a normal samurai, not quite the Iron Man stand in later ones seem to be

I was just thinking about that for the sword myself! I loved it and thought it was an incredible accessory as a kid.

I think this is still one of the coolest-looking spinners from that era of Ninjago.

I'm dead certain they will bring back that element for the impending Indiana Jones CMF (Come on, a guy can dream)

I just love the simplicity to the old Ninjago spinner and card sets.

You mean https://brickset.com/parts/design-30464? Sure, they've done more realistic dinosaurs since then, but I still wish I'd gotten my hands on one of those. I love the way they used it in 7623.

These spinners spun well but did it ever bother anyone who purchased this that the rendered photos show the mini-fig and spear as dark red, but the actual figure and spear are the standard medium red color?

Got green, dark-bley, and metallic gold. Just missing red. I also used one of the green ones to represent Rex in my Toy Story 2 Pizza Planet truck (which has scale representations of all five of the toys who took it for a drive, chasing a bespectacled dude in a chicken suit).

I have only the Green and Dark Grey versions, will always kick myself for not asking for the Agents set with the beautiful beautiful Metallic Gold one.... Red is like insanely expensive I believe so I doubt I'll get my hands on one :(
Speaking of Indiana Jones temples, they also appear in 7627... But sideways to represent serpent heads (I assume).

It's my favourite element, okay?
