Modular Buildings normally feature in our annual poll for your favourite set of the year, although none have actually won in the seven years we have run polls in this format. That is testament to the outstanding quality of 10350 Tudor Corner, which many fans have identified as their favourite Modular Building to date, in a crowded field!
It is hard to pinpoint exactly why 10350 Tudor Corner stands out from the crowd. I wonder if it is because the set honestly feels close to perfection, which is always a very tricky thing to achieve and an extremely rare one. There are plenty of great sets released annually, but only one or two each year, if that, can truly be considered 'perfect'.
Speaking of which, many would say the same for 72046 Game Boy! This is an entirely different kind of model to 10350 Tudor Corner, but another fantastic one. It takes something truly special for a set with only 421 pieces to finish in second place, easily beating sets that comprise several thousand pieces and arguably have more opportunity to impress.
I think 43279 WALL-E & EVE should be acknowledged for the same reason. This is a relatively simple idea for a set and it is executed brilliantly, as a worthy successor to 21303 WALL-E, with excellent renditions of his robotic friends included too. Also, this set offers fantastic value, so the set definitely earns its fifth place.
Before finishing, I wanted to add a quick note regarding the comments. People love to criticise Brickset members and commenters for being wildly out of touch or blinded by nostalgia, utterly obsessed with a return to classic LEGO themes and unwilling to accept anything new. Certainly, there are comments like that sometimes.
However, I actually think Brickset has quite a diverse user base, including people who love the older LEGO themes, plus all other kinds of LEGO fans. For me, the results of these 2025 polls illustrate the diversity of opinions because so many themes were represented in the finals, with some unexpected sets and minifigures performing extremely well and even winning.
Anyway, what do you think of the results? Let us know in the comments and thank you for your votes.

Given the strong Lego fan base in the UK and their high engagement rate with Brickset, it should not come as a surprise that the pub has come out on top. xD
Predictable, but deserved win for the Tudor Corner.
I don't think I would keep any of these, if I would get them for free. Except for 31161 of course.
Some of them wouldn't make my top ten, but for sure the Tudor is a good 1. Big vote difference too.
With the analysis focusing on perfection, I look forward to the much cheaper 75436 – described as "essentially a perfect set" in its review – winning next year.
I strongly suspected Tudor Corner would win but ran the nominations thread through AI anyway and it predicted it as well. So no surprise. I didn’t vote for it - I voted for 31161 Medieval Dragon - but recognise the design quality of Tudor Corner. It deserved to take the top spot.
I think all these sets deserve to be in this list. All are excellent sets, even if some are not in my subjects of choice. I voted for 72046 Gameboy purely on how close it resembles the real McCoy - I was so astonished at how realistic it looked. 10350 Tudor Corner would have taken my vote otherwise.
I confess I haven't bought any of these, so my vote decision could only be based on the reviews, but both the top two sit on my wishlist. (I have to prioritise sets that are retiring first, so as not to pay extortionate prices down the line)
Everybody on here is wildly out of touch or blinded by nostalgia, utterly obsessed with a return to classic LEGO themes and unwilling to accept anything new!
Butttt, I'm fine with a list like this. I don't own a single one of them (although I would like to own some). I don't even know what my favourite set that I actually bought would be...

I bought that specifically to build the sea serpent. Then I tore the sea serpent apart with the intention of redesigning it so I can have it undulating in and out of the water, like 3300001 or 40019. And then it’s going to replace the somewhat awkward sea serpent from 31132.

Can’t, unless they raise the price above $50.

The keyword is essentially. And it is a very small and simple set. Some people also think it’s a polybag being sold for double the price it should be.

This was absolutely a big part of it. Not that it isn't a great set, but UK LEGO fans clearly felt very "seen" with this set.
A deserved winner, but a lot of AFOLs probably just saw the word "Tudor" and thought it was another castle so they voted for it.

Somehow I doubt it. It is relatively easy for a set of that size to be essentially perfect because it is not trying to do very much. Even then, it is not perfect, as I said in the review.
Very Glad 10365 ranked so highly. People seem to disregard it due to its price, but it's been on backorder since its release and is probably the best Lego sail-ship to date.
The last couple of paragraphs about the comments and users has really made me miss the Forum. There was a lot of great discussion, debate, and general fun to be had on there when it was up and running that the comments don't really replace.
Disappointed that the only one I own (21358) didn't place higher on the list, but it *was* up against some stiff competition!

That one just never had a huge amount of appeal for me, for whatever reason, although I do like the fact that it's green with red wings, like the original Lego dragon. If I had the space, I might get it, but I'd pick up the top three in this contest, as well as 10355, 10358, and 43279 first.
The Black Pearl sank...
A great list of sets. Definitely looking forward to buying the GameBoy at some point, on sale.
My view is that the Modular sets have been (and always will be) AFOL-bait so seeing one at the top of the tree every year is inevitable.
But the fact that it finally won this year is an expression to the fact that this year's one was particularly good thanks to its Tudor architecture. Truly amazing design. Well done to the designers involved!

wouldn't be the first time.... or the second!
Not that many sets released in 2025 that appealed to me personally. Tudor corner and the game boy are my top picks (not sure I’ll buy them though)
Given that Tudor Corner featured in the best set of the past 10 years polls earlier last year, it should have been a shoo-in. I was wondering how fickle we can be though!
"People love to criticise Brickset members and commenters for being wildly out of touch or blinded by nostalgia, utterly obsessed with a return to classic LEGO themes and unwilling to accept anything new."
When you consider that seven sets out of the top 10 are tied to properties that actively invoke a sense of nostalgia, I'd say that's a fair bit of criticism. :'-)
Not that there's anything wrong with that... I'm a sucker for nostalgia, as I'm sure most folks here are, but I'm also aware that those rose-tinted nostalgia goggles do tend to cloud people's judgement, often more than they themselves realise.
That said, Tudor Corner is a deserved winner, one I voted for as well, and also a set that didn't receive votes for any type of brand recognition or lore, but purely because it's an amazing build with great aesthetics. Indeed, close to perfection.
Contrary to the list of the favourite minifigs, I can totally get on board with this result. All of those sets are awesome in their own way.
I only have a few of them, but I do have the winner (as well as the third, sixth and seventh place).
It's my favourite Modular of the last couple of years by far. Only beaten by my absolute favourite, the Detective's Office.
I was delighted to see Tudor Corner win, particularly by such a margin, as I've seen Gameboy crowned best of 2025 in a couple of other online polls. I only own three of those twelve, with a further four that I was looking forward to on initial announcement only to reconsider when I saw the final version. Not one of LEGO's best years.
My opinions are very diverse- even in my own head. ;)
Very happy that smaller sets like the gameboy and medieval dragon are high in this list!
So glad to see Gameboy did so well. I received it unexpectedly for Christmas and was blown away by how good it is. The build experience is one of my favorites ever.
Really surprised that the Renegade is that high, considering it's rapid retirement and huge end of life sales suggest it was never doing as well.
Haberdashery for the win!!!!
I voted for the Renegade. I own the set and love it!
Very good/decent/proper results. I own the winner and a few more smaller sets of this list (4,5,7,8). I have no interest in some of the sets listed but it is just my personal taste; however, I can readily understand the appeal. Some more I don't have because it is a matter of resources allocation, if I had the money I would have them all but I have to prioritize like most people.
I am not of the era of the game boy but these kind of polls and the rave review it got made me look into it. I consulted the instructions and realized it was a very clever bit of kit. If I can find it on sale, I will try to get it.
I'm really happy the Game Boy did so well. The build was great, and the end result is phenomenal. It's so tactile and full of good, clicky feedback, and the designers did an incredible job representing the different bits with largely run of the mill LEGO pieces.
I prefer LEGO models to retain a good, visible degree of LEGO-ness, but the GB is just so... satisfying. It's probably one of my top favorite sets from the last several years.
I own 5 of the top 12 finishers - including the top 2 - and I plan to get at least 4 more of the top 12!
Game Boy may be the best, most clever, most perfect set i ever build - certainly of the smaller sets - and Tudor Corner (a worthy winner) is still in a sealed box, awaiting time to build it and space to display it!
Well I own the top 2 and one other, and have plans to get a few more. It's great to see some smaller sets do so well! Also great to see that the winner doesn't require selling a kidney to acquire..
I'm looking forward to the Game Boy, I've not built it yet and this has increased my anticipation somewhat.
I was always going to vote Tudor Corner though, I mean it's a modular pub, and as a Brit we have strong feelings about pubs!
Congratulations to the winner!
And thanks to Brickset for organising these awards.
I thought the Game Boy could be the surprise winner, but that's still a huge gap.
Happy that the dragon made it to the final selection.
OK this year's LOTR set did not win (unlike its predecessors in 2023 and 2024), but I already bet that Minas Tirith will get the crown in 2026 !

The pub is actually on the bottom floor though...

Imho the problem with the Renegade versus the Galaxy Explorer was that it was based on such an obscure set. Maybe they should have based their second remake/reverence on something more beloved or at least well known outside of the US.

Not too deeply, though, it's still number four, speaking of which...

It was five years, and Tudor Corner got knocked out in the fourth round, by 10305 (which went on to win the final round against 10497), so it only had so much of a hold on us. Though I did wonder then how it would do in the end-of-year poll. Question answered!

I don't know that I'd say that 10246 is my favorite modular, but it was my first (it wasn't the start ofd a huge collectio, as the only other ones I have are 10270 and 10312, but still), so it definitely holds a special place in my heart.
Overall, I think 2025 was a down year for LEGO. But these polls/discussions really gave me an opportunity to revisit some sets to which maybe I didn't pay enough attention. 31161 Medieval Dragon and 76968 T-Rex definitely deserve a second glance.

I too miss the forum and the community spirit I felt it helped breed. Whether it was our grassroots efforts to track bag counts, the collective chasing of sales and deals, or simply rampant pontification of all things LEGO, we had a good time and made friends. I even really liked the vanilla platform, though imperfect it was.

I don't know that I would equate great selling with favorite. Some of my favorite sets of all time didn't seem to move the needle much. I'm looking at you, 7628 Peril in Peru.

Make them fight!
voted for 1st and 4th. expected the game boy to do well. surprised by the enterprise, it looks a little bland to me
Yawn.
I’m a modular lover (have so many it’s alarming). While I like the overall aesthetic of it the Tudor Corner is the first one that I started and stopped and never picked up again. It’s just sitting partially built. LEGO is losing the plot a bit - hundreds of detail pieces with less “building blocks” year after year. It has Smaller, cramped interior space….I could go on
I don’t own the GameBoy but it is a vastly superior set in design, execution, price etc.

I imagine quite a lot of people voted for the Enterprise simply because they have wanted a Star Trek set for decades, and overlooked the obvious failings in the design. This was one of the sets I was most looking forward to but decided not to buy it when I saw the final model. The "D" is my least favourite Enterprise design but I would have bought it as a Star Trek fan if the shaping had been more accurate. Even with the best GWP of the year I couldn't justify it.
72046 Game Boy is honestly one of the most impressive sets I've ever built, and ive been building since 1990. I absolutely love it, and I recommend everyone to go out and pick up a copy while you can.

TNG is my favorite series, but the refit/A is my favorite design. It looks fast just sitting still."
Tudor Corner was easily one if if not the best modular for years, absolutely nailed it. This is why the 2026 modular is even more disappointing and for the first time in almost twenty years I have decided not to bother buying it.
Tudor Corner was the only set over 30$ I bought all year. It looked so good I rescinded my lego boycott for it. I'd be surprised if the 2026 modular cracks the top 10, huge downgrade from most of the recent ones.

I'm not sure if I understand this comment. How is last year's new modular set winning considered nostalgia, or indicative of an obsession to see the return of classic themes? Ignoring the Blacktron Renegade, the only sets on the list that reasonably could have been influenced by nostalgia are all sets tied to intellectual properties, like the Gameboy and Enterprise.
While I don't normally collect the modular sets, I still voted for Tudor Corner because...
1) It looks fantastic, as-is.
2) It can actually be played with--providing more value beyond just being a display piece.
3) It can be modified.
4) It otherwise has a good selection of parts that can be used for other projects.
Above all, I'm not sure why I keep seeing comments on the site using the word "nostalgia" to explain away things even when it's clearly not applicable. It's like when I see people describe their 3-minute song as epic. It makes no sense.

10355 is nostalgic because it's a re-imagining of a set from1987 (and can also build a re-imagining of a set from 1988), 21358 is nostalgic because a good chunk of the minifigs reference classic Lego themes, and 31161 is nostalgic because its colors reference the very first official Lego dragon.

Tip of the hat from the Haberdashery!
Pleasantly surprised by the variety of nominations and how most did quite well.My 5 year old loved building Wall-E at Christmas and he's very interactive and expressive too. Marvelous set.

Yeah, the minifigs were only part of the reason I bought it. I had a lot of fun putting that mechanism together, and I occasionally dispense one or two just for the fun of it.
Glad to see a dragon made the top 10, and the blacktron renegade, probably my top 2 sets of last year
