Probably not, since that one had a driver.

By in Canada,

@Maxbricks14: I'm more concerned with the lack of a driver...specking thereof:

Here (confused)...it come

You never seen one of those on the streets?

That one in the lower left corner is like a Droideka reject.

I’m not sure it could win in a solo time trial. Somehow, something would conspire to beat it across the finish line. Maybe the guy carrying the big, heavy, shoulder-mounted, non-stabilized camera on foot, who’s been working all day, is dead tired, and just wants to clock out and go home before he collapses from exhaustion. He’s still going to cross the finish line first, while walking backwards, so he can get a good shot of the driver’s face.

"Disclaimer: These VEHICLE REPLICAS does not seat a driver and cannot be made to seat a driver..."

The one in the lower-left looks like a mix of D-O, a Segway and those scared-out tractors from "Cars". The one in the lower-right looks like it was made for people who ride stand-up jet skis, so they could enjoy the same feeling on land.

Well, no, because it's apparently trying to drive up the side of the photo.

By in Netherlands,

I'm not sure what is worse, the design of the models or the phone-in photoshopping.

By in United States,

I never knew Znap existed. In the 90s I had tons of Lego but I did get into K'nex for a while.

VROOOM!!!

It appears to always be a struggle to come up with designs using these weird and limited shaped pieces. The art designers even had to add lots of colored stripes to give the impression of movement to make more interesting.

By in Netherlands,

You know, I always say I like that ZNAP of all themes introduced a part that would somehow stand the test of time; the 5L-ish length technic axle with stop 1L from the end.

But in this case... why!? The frictionless pin/axle was available and plenty of other sets from the theme used them. Yet, here they opted to use those axles and they stick out a lot! If the car's wheels are flipped they will stick out underneath. Is it to make it look like it hovers above the ground? Was it to make the rear wheels more secure?

Who knows! But it sure makes it look even uglier than usual. If it was for the scooter build, I'm not sure that's worth it.

I guess it went like every time: Designers asked for a new piece and management granted it on the condition that it will be shoved into every set being released in the following two years. The oh-so-expensive new mold has to pay!

But wait... this is 1999, at the beginning of LEGOs malaise era. Which was started* by too many new molds...

*partially

And have a Scala figure driving it. Possibly chasing or being chased by a Galidor figure driving a Jack Stone set. (To any toy photographers out there: feel free to use that idea.)

Znap was TLG's answer to K'nex.

Spoiler alert, it bombed.

By in Italy,

Znap is when you are having a nap, and you have a "Z" above your head in a bubble.
If you live in a comic book.

Znap was cloned from K’Nex, sure, but in order to maintain compatibility with existing Technic parts (which saw use in the sets), they had to change the scale such that Znap is incompatible with K’Nex. That may have helped spell its doom.

If you get to visit Lego House in Billund, you’ll find that Znap is missing from the History Collection. I can’t think why.

If you forget history you are doomed to repeat it.
Or something like that.

By in United States,

The funny thing about Znap is that, in attempting to knock K'Nex off, Lego crated a system more similar to Construx.

But do they acknowledge Bionicle? I’ve seen too many history lists where they just skip the theme that saved the company, and say, “Here’s one of the other things we did in 2001, which wasn’t very impactful, but thats the one we chose to mention.” Or, you know, something along those lines.

This week, I sat down and read "Brick by Brick", which was really interesting.

The book devotes a significant number of pages to talking about both Galidor and Jack Stone, and what terrible ideas they both were.

But I don't remember the book even mentioning Znap. It's like, *this* is the thing that Lego just wants to forget ever happened.

I'm reminded of The Lego Movie, in which, as Wyldstyle is saying, "A bunch of places we don't talk about," pictures of Bionicle and Fabuland show up. Made funnier in retrospect when Fabuland figures showed up in the sequel.

Doesn’t that make it a K’nockoff?
