Double DC today!

I almost bought this set back when it was out. I always thought it was kinda cool.

Ah, so Huwbot is having a classic Batman villain day.

Holy moly how time flies. Got this for my birthday back when I was a wee lad!
had such fond memories of the original batman game, and wanted a penguin figure really badly. I was over the moon with this

Still one of the coolest batman suits. We really need more

The robo penguins don't count as minifigs? That's rude.

The peak era of DC.

Double Batman, which is the same thing as far as Lego's concerned.

By in New Zealand,

This would go really well with the Otter Set 21366

By in United States,

Had to get this back in the day, for the Returns Duckboat and the VG penguins especially. Missed the OG theme when I was a kid, so anything harkening back to them is automatically a lil' special.

Double weird considering characters like the droidekas do. Are we sure Huwbot isn’t just part of the Separatist Alliance?

I see this is what’s keeping Batman so distracted that another of his rogues gallery snuck into fig of the day

Love this set! Still have it on display in my Batman section. The duck is a great little build.

By in Turkey,

Set is wacky but I like the figures.

Build something Batman.

I think I ended up with four copies of this. The last one was because they did a returning pair of promotions where buying _ANY_ DC product or _ANY_ TMNT product would net you a free Jor-El or Flashback Shredder, respectively. It ended up being a choice between keychains vs this and the Karai set to score the bonus minifigs, and I went with the sets. And then they sent me Minecraft’s The Cave instead of one of the sets (that was the first Minecraft addition to my hunger of zombies), so I had to call and get a replacement copy.

By in Netherlands,

I believe this was the second Penguin from DC Super Heroes and the third overall.

Thiscset was nice and affordable (still noticably more expensive than other themes though) but Batman and his vehicle are hyper specialized so it didn't interest me much back then.

Batman has a really cool face however if you like Sci-fi

It's not Huwbot's fault, he just gets his data from Bricklink. *They're* the one's who are under Dooku's thumb!

I remember that promotion, I got a Batgirl keychain. Hung it off of the backpack I carried my laptop in.

You know you’re old when you’re like I just bought this.

= “$35. Wait, I’m sorry? This isn’t right? Huh… must be $45. No?! Yikes, prices have really taken an upturn. Sheesh.

Don't think you've actually got those guys under your control, Mr. The Penguin, we all know Dreadflipper's minions when we see them. Mind control hats or not, they're gonna turn on you for their true master sooner or later...!

That said. Minus... you know, the *literal dynamite* they're carrying, those are actually pretty cute penguin builds; as a childhood fan of penguins, I rather like them!

The only Batman set that features a dark blue type 2 cowl.

Is a type 2 cowl just one where the eyes are lined up properly with the headband? My copy of 6858 came with the skinny-eared cowl, but the eyeholes are just a bit too low and you can see the black line at the bottom.

I believe you’re correct, but there’s definitely a TLBM Penguin missing from the tagged list. This was 2014, and the light purple pants was 2013. I don’t remember there being any in 2012, so that limits the window.

@THX1977:
2012 sets that originally came with Type 1 cowls were converted to Type 2a mid-run, so I don’t know that this is correct.

@RogueWhistler:
Type 1 had the giant ears that were nearly equilateral triangles. Type 2a had tall spiky ears, but the eyes frequently didn’t line up with the eyeband. Type 2b had an adjustment made that caused it to sit at the correct height where the eyeholes did line up properly, which unfortunately happened after Electrosuit Batman with his printed cowl.

What a great little set. I knew when I saw that that I had to buy it. That was my first Penguin minifigure, and I love that torso. It's nice to see that torso is rare (one other set has it). I love the whimsical duck and I think it's fantastic.

In my MOC Iceberg Lounge I have this minifig partying with guests and these little penguins stand guard outside.

Yes, the cowl is a bit tapered and does not touch the shoulders. It's possible that the head is incorrect.

I stand corrected!
