Quick Look: 40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico

Posted by ,

40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico is the gift with purchase at LEGO.com at the moment, free with purchases exceeding $180/€180/£160.

It's the second in a collection of four similar models that'll be available at various times during 2026.

40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan set a high bar. Can this one match it?

Summary

40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico, 326 pieces.

On a par with the Japanese restaurant and a must-have GWP

  • Minifigure-scale
  • Unique minifigure
  • Lovely details inside
  • Only available as a GWP

The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author.

The tiny establishment sits on a baseplate sized 8x12 and oozes Mexican vibes, such as the sun-bleached walls, terracotta tiles, and cacti growing outside.

Under the colourfully decorated eaves of the roof there's room for two covers and, like all LEGO City vendors, there's a massive version of the product being sold above it.

The table is set with tacos, colourful drinks, a slice of lime, and a bowl of guacamole. There's a variety of vegetables and a pile of tortillas in the food preparation area behind it, as well as a trompo being heated from the side, and a huge knife with which to carve it.

The taquera is wearing an apron with the establishment's logo on the chest and, despite the mismatch between the brown printing on her torso and legs, it's still a lovely figure.

The oversized taco can be removed from roof should you wish to display something more realistic, but definitely not as fun!

The restaurants are shaping up to be must-have GWPs, arguably the best series that has been made in recent years. So, do not delay placing your order to secure one!

By in United Kingdom,

They’re very charming, and a great addition to larger Lego scenes. I’m very interested to see the next two.

Could customize this to be the bar Eddie brock visits in No Way Home

The threshold is quite high in Canada. I had to upgrade my PaB order a little bit to qualify. Those will be perfect for a fair "tastes of the world". Looking forward for the other two.

Would be nice if we got City sets like this. Don't know why this couldn't come with another minifig and be sold for $25.

Why not a Belgian 'French' fries stall? And if not, one with Belgian waffles, but that wouldn't qualify as a restaurant i guess...

A female taquero would be a taquera :P

It's a shame its just a GWP :(

Ugh, I don't like how much I like this. I have the sushi one, and with the details, this also looks like one I'll need. I wonder what modular is on my wishlist for this...

I would be happy with either of those - but probably more with the waffles as Lego has already done the 'French' fries truck recently.

By in Switzerland,

These two sets remind me of 41701.

I think I’m going to try to put this one together from my collection, it’s such a cute little model

Should of came with a Trump minifigure

Excellent freebie. GWPs back to form. I think sets based on buildings, like this, are more effective than the landscape diorama ones, that were a good idea in theory but a bit messy in practice.

I would've liked some of this series but this year's been real rough on me. I haven't picked up any 2026 sets outside the yearly City sportscar (because I saw it in stores and it's cheap)... yeouch

Why add a 2nd minifigure and only make $25 when we can sell them $155 worth of Lego for $180 that most of them probably didn’t previously want some of anyways, “give” them the GWP with 1 minifigure, and keep the 2nd minifigure for ourselves? -Lego Board of Directors

I believe the GOP is now trying to use "NACHO" as some sort of feeble answer to TACO. I don't remember what they want that backronym to stand for, but fine, okay. Nacho, Trump. I'm game.

Greenland? It's nacho country. Europe? Just nacho business. Killing the old Pope, making an enemy of the new one? Nacho sure that was a good idea.

There was a movement that claimed that "Trump Always Chickens Out", hence the TACO. I don't know why, he may have gone back on some tariffs to some select countries, but he's still destroying the world order and ignoring all legal steps to do what he wants.

He's also gonna pour acetone on all of our LEGO and run away shouting "Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

Bad design, somewhat good details (such as the meat and the colorful 'perforated' paper), but that's not usually how taquerias are, especially not the sign.

@Huw should that "two covers" actually be "two customers"?

I was going to try and ignore this GWP, but if they are serving Tacos al Pastor... dang-it, I have to get it now.
