Blocks Issue 141 goes inside the design of LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith

Discover the secrets behind the creation of the mighty new The Lord of the Rings LEGO set, 11377 Minas Tirith, in Issue 141 of Blocks – the monthly magazine for LEGO fans. The new edition also includes interviews on 77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler with Design Manager Henrik Rubin Saaby and Hero Factory with creative storyteller Christian Faber.

Issue 141 is available to order worldwide as part of a subscription or as a single issue at blocksmag.com and will be in UK stores from July 3.

Blocks subscriptions are better value than ever – a one-year print subscription in the UK is just £64.90, for a saving of £52.10. If you take one out before the end of June, you’ll get a FREE special ‘Leg godt’ minifigure.

If you take out a two-year print subscription, we’ll also throw in a Blocks t-shirt!

Every month there’s a prize to win for subscribers – and Blocks is giving away 11505 Woodland Mushrooms! To be in with a chance of winning, take out a subscription before July 2, 2026.

As one of the year’s most impressive models yet, 11377 Minas Tirith deserves attention – and LEGO Designers François Zapf and Nicola Belfiore take Blocks through the development process behind this awe-inspiring The Lord of the Rings set.

Fantasy fans will also enjoy the Reviews section, where Blocks builds and assesses the latest Harry Potter sets to see just how magical they are, before taking a look at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day sets and the sizeable 76354 S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

Builders who prefer sci-fi to fantasy can discover an exclusive interview with Design Manager Henrik Rubin Saaby, focusing on how he crafted 77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler to be four iconic versions of the classic vehicle in one box, as well as his passion for the dino-packed film franchise.

Christian Faber then presents a look at the concept art he created for Hero Factory, the short-lived constraction theme that followed BIONICLE. The lore was intended to be much larger than what was actually released and this inside glimpse provides a taste of what could have been.

Follow new build instructions to construct a mini version of 77080 KIT from Fortnite or a desk-sized Slinky Dog from Toy Story to celebrate the return of the Pixar series to the big screen. Elsewhere inside the 116 page magazine you’ll also find a beautiful brick-built Tiffany lamp, amazing summer creations, top 10 castles and much, much more.

When you visit LEGO House, be sure to check out Character Creator. You can put your own unique minifigure together and then make them a Blocks magazine cover star! Share your image with the hashtag #blocksinlegohouse and tag @blocksmagazine too.

Blocks is giving away 11505 Woodland Mushrooms! To be entered into the prize draw and to get Blocks magazine delivered every month – ahead of the shops – visit blocksmag.com and check out the money-saving subscription deals available.

For entry into the prize draw, you must have an active Blocks subscription at 5.00pm UK time August 6, 2026 (existing subscribers will automatically be entered into the prize draw).

Free minifigure and t-shirt promotion ends July 6, 2026, or while stock lasts.

By in Germany,

The set looks so much better when photoshopped like on that cover.
Unfortunately the set in real life doesn't look like that.

Maybe an airbrush artist could remedy that.

I was about to comment seeing this cover made me want to buy the set, but stock photos make me not want to spend the money.

Exactly! After all, Jang had pretty good results with the Sauron Helmet.

I have the first issue of Blocks magazine somewhere I think it has the original Tumbler on the cover but have never bought an issue since. I went to Barnes and Noble today and they want $17 for this.
