LEGO Star Wars 75455 Boba Fett revealed!

Posted by ,

75455 Boba Fett has been announced as the latest of several large-scale Star Wars characters released lately and perhaps one of the most impressive.

This set will be available from August 1st, containing 1544 pieces and costing £149.99, $169.99 or €169.99. Similar to most figures of this size, the legs are static and attached to the base, but you can adjust the arms and head for different poses.

In addition, the set comes with the Boba Fett minifigure that was conspicuously absent from 75396 Desert Skiff & Sarlacc Pit and 75397 Jabba's Sail Barge, based on his appearance in Return of the Jedi.

More images are available after the break...

What do you think of the model? Let us know in the comments.

This looks amazing!

By in Ireland,

I've seen some discourse online about the figure having the wrong coloured arms but seems to have been from the life style pictures only.

I would safely assume it was using the previous torso and arms as a placeholder

Looks really good, the model is fantastic

By in United States,

On one hand I wish it were $25 less expensive, on the other it's beautiful. $20 away from the former UCS ship price is kinda insane, though.

By in United States,

I love so much about this model, but I can't help be bummed by the stickers. The visor really should have been printed.

By in United States,

Boba Fett? Boba Fett? Where?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is great! Much better than the previous "bipedal Star Wars character" models, and the minifig is perfect too.

The big question: is the Iron Man one even worth getting now that this is out? I like both characters, but I like Boba Fett a lot more and the builds seem reallyyyyyy similar.

By in United States,

The torso and legs are still not correct. Correct one with the tan bags and correct belt came in the 2017 Desert Skiff.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think it looks great, glad for a new ROTJ version minifig.

More expensive display slop but at least the fig is nice

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not into display-only sets that much, but this one looks really cool.

Lego fusing with Hot Toys, awesome.

This looks great! I’m loving the subtheme of large-scale character models. Darth Vader next….?

By in Belgium,

They absolutely refuse to make that helmet dark green as it should be. They even went as far as to make the big fig's helmet sand green even though it should be the same colour as his chest piece... that's dedication.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks like the best statue/figure they’ve made. I’m not sure I like it enough to get it, but kudos on their work!

Gravatar

They're still trying to make Firespray a thing this is hysterical

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, I think we can all agree on one thing. I am buying this.

There's a picture of the helmet right on the back of the box. Did you mean to say they should have made his armor lighter to match the helmet?

I mean, it always was a Firespray. If this was Han Solo, I'd expect them to list the class of starship, rather than identifying it by name.

By in United States,

Can’t get enough Bubba Feets. This looks really good, and gives me hope we’ll get a Samus set in her varia suit one day.

I mean why even have a partnership with Nintendo if we’re not going to make that happen?

Going by the latest action figures which are more accurate than the overlighted photo his torso is dark green, his helmet and codpiece are olive with dark green accents and his cape would be dark green.

I do not know how his helmet could be dark green when the stripes on his cheeks are the same dark green as the torso armor, black would be far too dark.

The main thing is that TESB Boba is the only one with sand green helmet, all other instances make it darker. Even if people want to debate about the ROTJ helmet not being olive, at least the BOBF helmet has to be olive.

And the more obvious mistake should be the jetpack. ROTJ Bobas Jetpack is dark blue, but of course the neck holder looks through the front. If a piece needed to be double molded it should be the Mandalorian and Clone Trooper jetpacks.

By in United States,

It’s fitting that this is a Star Wars set as it looks great from far, far away. K2SO and Iron Man earn the bounty here.

That being said, looking at the back of the box has me confused. In which film did Boba Fett line dance?

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I'll never understand the minifig with these sets. The Icons Model T doesn't have a plaque with a speed champion size Model T. Architecture Notre Dame doesn't have a tiny Notre Dame beside it. So why the minifig with the bigger Star Wars figures?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It looks better than the Frightening chewie version
Id buy it but at a slightly cheaper price.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

This looks so much like that one guy. You know, that sci-fi bounty-hunter.

VAVA/Vile, from Mega Man X, that's the one. What a rip-off!

Boba Fett: "Aaaah aaaaaaaaaaah!" [*Thud*] "Aaah!"
Sarlacc: [*Burp*]

[A few days later: Boba makes his way out of the Sarlacc]

Luke: "No one's ever really gone."
Mr. Plinkett: "Oh Boba, no one will ever let you really be gone."

Expensive? Yes. Display? Yes. But slop? I don't know how anyone could reasonably call a model this beautiful "slop."

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

A nice model, I guess, and a good example of what can be done with modern day Lego, but for me Boba Fett has been spoiled forever by the 'Book of' TV mini series. I just can't take him seriously anymore.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Needs a beer belly to fit with the TV series.

Gravatar

I was sure his starship had a name. Must be losing it.

Is it tho? It's the class designation of the ship that the manufacturer gave it.
It would be more hysterical for me to insist on you to call my hypothetical car "the name I gave it", vs simply calling it a Toyota Corolla.

No, in Irish dancing your arms are straight down by your side.

It looks a lot better than the Chewbacca that was released or the C3-PO with the weird eyes.

That's only because they aren’t holding a blaster.

Online YouTube personalities who make money off stoking the fires of outrage over [rolls the die] …toys will now whine about a good-looking Lego model for [rolls die] …the color of [rolls die] …the minifigure’s [rolls die] …arms.

He's exposed to the desert sun in that pic, his armour looks much darker under more neutral lighting. There aren't many options when it comes to green Lego colours and sand green wouldn't look too good on the torso imo. Here the difference in colours between the helmet and the rest of the armour is a little too jarring.

Hmm... Yeah, I think history would have looked different if the Irish had blasters.

Gravatar

Welp, I'll be having that day one!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

They almost got the minifigure right, but they had to cheap out and reuse the episode V torso :(

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

The most conflicted I have been with a set ever. It is genuinely masterful, beautiful work, but I am increasingly tired of buildable characters and having two styles for humanoids (Up-scaled and this) at the same time is even more excessive. But as long as this is the last one…

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is that a new modified plate for attaching his non-thumb fingers?
edit: no, it's an old one used in a way I didn't expect.

Another BS comment bites the dust.

Can't criticize the big boss. That won't help them get better.

Down with the LAN.

It's a press release. I think we can forgive the LAN this one time. :o)

P.S. I seem to be the only one not infatuated with the buildable Cobb Vanth.

By in Spain,

I prefer the 75533 Buildable figure. More poseable and cheaper..

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If the Model T had come with a miniaturised magazine cover mount or polybag sized Model T, it would have instantly gone to the top of my wish list. Adorable.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All display sets should come with minifig sized replicas. I say we make this happen.

If you don't want to see an Iron Man/Boba Fett duel (and maybe set one up on a display shelf), then you can't be helped.

There probably wouldn’t be any Irish people left.

I like the use of the black small Technic gears for the gun barrel. There is also more variety in full figures than just another helmet, hope they do more.
