What the hell?! Only 10 hours in?! Lego definitely needs to stock more GWPs for Australia and New Zealand. We are always the ones with the GWP stocks running out the quickest. (crying face)

So, I guess there is no point to make any purchase anymore without the Sea Serpent.

By in Belgium,

Got one

By in United States,

Except it's not available now in the USA, have to wait until the 7th. If they're going that fast in Australia i might have to get on a midnight rather than wait until morning.

By in United Kingdom,

Was planning on getting 10337 next time Argos had it reduced again, so grabbed it now on lego.com for £30 off. Fully expect Argos to have it for £50 off by tomorrow!

Probably not. Oceania really does get shafted on pretty much every promotion. I can’t speak for Europe, but it’s been a while since I saw a GWP sell out within 24 hours for the US market (not sure if Canada is rolled in with the US, or handled separately these days). I think the LotR Fell Beast might have been the last one I actually noticed sell out that fast, and that was two years ago. Both of the next two LotR GWPs had plenty of stock.

Yes, Australia seems to get bent over quite a bit but I've learned if you want something get it now. I recently bought the 40893 GWP as a presale from someone on flebay and they were supposed to ship it by June 15th. Well, they missed the order time for 11377 and it went out of stock and Lego doesn't ship the GWP until it comes back in stock so I ended up filing for a refund and I'm sure the seller didn't like that but I'm not losing what I paid for it waiting for him to get his GWP copy. Besides it's the perfect excuse to buy the Police Train. It isn't double VIP which I prefer but I should get two GWP's for the effort.

I’m just not that impressed. I really do like the sea serpent, but here in the USA I can’t put together any combination of sets I actually want and get any additional discounts, points, or gwps. It’s strictly $180 of full retail price LEGO and a free sea serpent. Not terrible, just not sure it’s enough to get me to part with the money right now.

Was planning on getting the Tintin rocket to get the Sea Serpent but then I saw Jaws with a small deal on it (only 20%) - still, the set is retiring soon and I kind of wanted it but not at full price. So I got that plus PaB plus small city sets not on amazon. At that pace, I might finish the year 2026 with my wishlist completely empty - which will make things significantly more manageable going forward - lately I had to scramble to get some sets before they retire.

By in United Kingdom,

I had three sets in mind to get to earn the sea serpent, 11505, 11511 and 60506. Then 60506 went temporarily out of stock, again, so I had to improvise and get 11514, 80120 instead.

It only gets me £8 worth of insiders points, but I'd rather do that then order the serpent off Ebay. I sell gwps there but I don't sell for outrageous amounts, I go by lego value, which is £19.99 for the sea serpent, not the amounts I've seen going.

I do wish lego would raise the point ratio though. £8 for £162 does not seem good value.

Not sure if you will keep this one but going from your second paragraph, that means £28 for £162 - which is nothing to go crazy about but fair I guess. You can probably sell it at £25 and still be well below most sellers. I also got a tiny amount (5% like everyone else!) for my order and one of my set is on backorder - so the spending for it will occur later.

By in Netherlands,

Lego spent so much money on the fifa worldcup that they didn't have anything left to celebrate their most faithful costumers. These deals are all rather lacking in my opinion

Inside Day: a way to find out what sets are overpriced and what sets sell poorly. Or both.

This is exactly the point why GWPs are predatory! If Lego only produces undesireable exclusives, they force you to buy those if you really want the GWP. (I say exclusives, because there really is no point in buying regular sets from Lego, when you can get most things at 30% discounts elsewhere.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

30% off 21356 was nice. No 40912 GWP, no 5010053 GWP either (only certain themes and not Ideas), it's always uncertain whether you will get a GWP so most of the time it doesn't matter to me. Having said that I was pleased (and lucky) to get 40712, 40767 and 40686 in the last couple of years.

By in Belgium,

It’s ironic that the plane gwp is not included with purchasing 11378 Douglas DC-3

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Thankfully I don't have nostalgia for the Sea Serpent, and the plane just looks like a poor man's version of 6368.
Coupled with the fact that I would have a hard time finding any exclusive sets that interest me at the moment, I am happy to miss out this time round.
Seems I'm not the only one as both GWPs still seem to be readily available over here.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I managed to get just over £160 without too much difficulty so the Sea Serpent is sailing towards me. I might have picked it up from my local Lego store but my major items were apparently out of stock - and I’m reluctant to roll the dice on GWPs, especially ones as sought after as this one.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

The discounts aren't really worth it for me, and 2x Points only on select sets sucks. If the Sea Serpent is gone already, I'm skipping this Insiders Weekend

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

So.... Pretty much what everybody expected, right?

Gravatar
By in United States,

That stinks as I was hoping to get Willy Wonka at a discount here in the US.

Gravatar
By in Japan,

Is it me or is the Insiders Week earlier this year? I did a good haul for my birthday/Christmas last year when it was in November (managed to get 40776) but that was after saving up through the year... :S

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Placed an order early this morning…

Gravatar
By in United States,

Never did get the Transformers sets but they still had Optimus so got that and Bumblebee at big discounts. And with the Serpent not a bad deal at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anybody else having trouble with their orders processing? I made an order earlier this morning (several hours ago) but instead of the order processing normally it gave me a screen with the order number saying that it's still processing and would show up in my orders and send me an email when it was done. But so far, neither has happened. Kind of worried and don't know whether the order actually went through.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was planning on pre-ordering the twin Titan mechs to get the GWP, but it looks like you can’t do that anymore.

I would suggest contacting LEGO CS about this issue if you haven't already!

I got partway into the checkout process, and then it told me my cart was empty. I could still see there were four items showing in the corner, but it wouldn’t let me back into my cart. Eventually, I opened a new tab as was able to get a confirmation number the first attempt. And this was after getting hit with a queue at 9am EDT.

And I second making a call, if you haven’t seen a confirmation page, a confirmation e-mail, or a payment processed through your weapon of choice.

By in Japan,

Here in Japan was gone after 35 min... I couldn't get one due my work time... Clearly there is a huge demand for Castle Theme that TLG insist in ignore.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Sea Serpent still readily available over here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Escaped from my dark ages during the pandemic, and I have yet to see an Insiders Weekend with anything exciting.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Their prices are so bad. They are trying to sell the 3-in-1 Majestic Rhino for $64CAD as if that's a sale. I got it for $36CAD on Amazon back in December. They aren't even trying.

By in United States,

I'm here in the US and everything seems to be on backorder or OOS on the website. Only things available to buy are the sets that do not sell at all. The Batman BatSymbol set has been on Back Order now for 2 months and has an expected shipping date in 60 days from now(so early Sept) and every time I have the $$ to get Arkham Asylum, that goes on back order as well. But I did manage to pick up 3 sets to get the Sea Serpent.

Sea Serpent is sold out in Hungary

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Well the Sea Serpent GWP was sold out in Switzerland after a few Hours while I was at Work (No I can not go online during Work). When I was coming Home it was gone from my LEGO Shop Basket.

Thank you very much LEGO for Nothing and another Disappointment during the Insiders Days.

Why they not produce more of these GWP is beyond me. They knew how high the Demand will be with such a GWP from the Castle Line.

At least we know that the LEGO Marketing Team will fail again and again and again and will never ever learn

Gravatar
By in United States,

IMO, Lego Insider Days is an insult to Lego Insiders. Real crappy offers and sales.

I seem to remember having something like that happening to me a while back, and I never got a confirmation email, but when I later checked my Orders page, the order had gone through. Have you looked there?

Sea Serpent sold out in UK?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Seems so, it's not in the offer banner at the top anymore.

I'm keeping mine, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered, given the amount I've spent recently, on back orders and bricklink preorder.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yeah Sea Serpent gone in the UK. I missed out but not too fussed. I wouldn't be surprised to see it come back.
