A classic! Still one of my favorite smaller NINJAGO sets, to this day.

By in New Zealand,

I've got this one!

I missed when small Ninjago sets were fun like this.

Bit weird that the only figure is one of the ninja, not one of the Serpentine.

shout out to the snake head print on the top of the build, always loved that

I just turned a pair of those snakes in white into Opera Viking horns this past weekend.

Ooh, one of my favorite Ninjago sets. I think I first saw this wave of Ninjago sets when I was at a Barnes&Noble getting books for school. I wanted to get Kai's Blade Cycle 9441, but only had like $8 with me, so I had to settle for 9440 instead. I never was able to get 9441 and nowadays the Bricklink prices are a bit too steep (also I don't have a means of purchasing things on Bricklink, but that's another matter). I do like 9440 though; it's a nice, concise build with a Serpentine staff and one of those printed 4x4 slopes, plus a ZX Ninja (who has slightly yellowed by now, sadly) and a play function that actually works. And it's not a mech! Modern Ninjago would be shaken to its core if it saw this set.

I've always imagined that the two launchable snakes just sit there and bicker all day until the white Ninja comes along. One is dumb and talkative, and the other is less dumb and constantly irritated.

It’s “snake chutes” trap mechanism reminds me a little of 5919, but then I’ll take any excuse to remember Adventurers!

I built a much larger ruined jungle temple inspired by this set, it's one of my favorites from the early days of Ninjago. And I never even watched the show...

By in Netherlands,

A nice set, this one. You get a fully decked out Zane ZX, but the shrine itself is just nice in general. Printed slope, two snakes and two catapults to make the snakes jump up. Just fun. It also looks nice with its symmetry and the slight asymmetry of the drooping venom in trans neon green colors are fun too, if a bit muted. And you get a really nice staff.

This set was just good.

As well you should.

The day I got this set I also had my vision checked, therefore could not appreciate the box art fully.

Trans-neon green, my beloved.

My first (of many many) impulse purchases after my dark ages!

Aye, my vision was completely blurry and the set just looked like green and tan mixed together. It was the first time I ever had it checked, hence the funky feeling.

This was my second ninjago set after getting the Zane glider polybag 30080. I wanted to get him in his newer suit, but the only other remotely affordable set with him was 9445, and that was still too much. This set had a really fun play feature though, and as always I appreciated the inclusion of a properly armored figure. I ended up trading most of the shrine though with a neighbor. I kept the figure, staff, and probably one of the trans neon green rods.
