Huw, has your money in your Brickset bank account increased a lot since you introduced this feature? :)
I really dont get this feature as it keeps repeating the same products...
^ Prices on Amazon fluctuate dramatically based on a number of factors; what the system does is compare current price with the price at the previous update (6 hours previously). If a set is discounted by 30% or more currently, and was discounted by less than 30% at the previous update, then the set is flagged by Huwbot (!).
So if you want to know why the system keeps flagging the same products, I suggest you ask Amazon who are responsible for the yo-yo prices on these sets !
^ Ok thanks didn't mean to be rude if I sounded it.
^ No problem !
Thanks DrDave!
I was just going to ask the same thing JohnnyRonny asked, but it had been asked and answered already.
Q: Do you guys at Brickset get money for having links from amazon?
A:
Q: If, you do, does it go to funding Brickset, or is it for you? :{)

LEGOSLUG
@LEGOSLUG: I can answer the first one. If you buy anything from Amazon (even expensive watches. :P) through Brickset, Brickset gets a percentage of the money. Brickset doesn't get any money from just displaying links, in short. :P
Huwbot? Is this Huw 2.0? or someone else?
Wow! Great savings!
@ceroknight: It's a robot Huw. :) These messages are automated; Huwbot is the author of them. :)
Alemas- Yeah, his messages are very original :P
LEGOSLUG- I think I can answer the second one. Yes, the money goes to brickset. I think...
@Huw; I was scrolling through the main Amazon page and was wondering whether it would be possible to have an extra sorting feature of themes i.e. only show a specific theme. Or would this be too difficult as I think the sets are linked from Amazon and not Brickset. Just an idea :)
Amazon and Lego commissions work out at around 4/5% of the basket value.
Considering the amount of members/traffic this site gets, I'm guessing huw et al are making a sizeable income each month and especially around Christmas.
Alternately you could use a cashback site eg quidco, to get this commission % yourself.
I prefer to click through brickset as I think huw does a great job.
