"AT LAST, SIR TERRY, WE MUST WALK TOGETHER"
Posted by glenbricker,Yesterday was a sad day for many FOLs with the passing of the literary great Sir Terry Pratchett.
Pratchett's Discworld series and other works bought pleasure to millions of readers and those works have inspired numerous MOCs from our community.
This article is a brief tribute to his works recreated in LEGO. Each image is a link to the builder.
I invite anyone to share links in the comments to other builds celebrating his legacy.
And here is a video on making Rincewind and the Luggage.

What a sad day... Terry was an excellent builder, and will be sorely missed... My condolences to anyone who got the privilege to meet this man... A true legend is his own right...
What a creative storyteller! A very sad day for all of us, that thanks to him had a chance to visit the Discworld. An amazing journey it was.
When I was a lot younger I wrote a letter to him, bemoaning the use of quotation marks around Death's speech in the short story "Theatre of Cruelty" in WH Smith's Bookcase magazine. He replied, as he did to so many people, agreeing that it was a deplorable thing - the editor was probably a literary graduate, or someone of that ilk.
He aten't dead though. He'll live on through his words.
Several years ago I had the pleasure to visit one of his 'readings', where obviously he didn't read a single word, claiming that this would be a really boring thing to do---particularly for him. Instead he told a lot of interesting stories, particularly about orang-utans.
You will surely be missed, Sir Terry!
Would be nice to have the Lego Ideas Discworld be chosen as a sort of commemoration of his death. Arguably, most the other sets that are up for choosing have little meaning to them when compared to that set now.
Either way, haven't had the pleasure of knowing him personally and have not read most of his books, however seen some of the film adaptions and enjoyed them immensely.
RIP Sir Terry. What an amazing legacy and body of work he leaves behind for us. The LEGO sets pictures are all awesome as well. A discworld MOC may be my 1st ever if Ideas doesnt pick one up.
The only fantasy author worth a damn. Thanks for the laughs, Terry.
It's such a shame. I just only started reading his books this past year. He had a great, yet bizarre, sense of humor, and his books were always entertaining. I find it even odder that I found out about his passing on Brickset, of all places. He will be missed.
I can only link to my minifig of him I made many years ago :

I was sooo proud when it got featured in the Discworld Monthly, it gives me a little hope that maybe He actually saw it at some point ^^
It has followed me everywhere I moved.
I always had this fantasy of one day meet him and have him sign a 2x4 tile to complete it but that won't ever happen, now :'(
Something from me Before I reread the Discworld Series https://flic.kr/p/rjquv9
I assume he had that series of tweets already prepared for his family to post when the time came; no one but him could have written his own ending quite like that.
A little plug for our Terry Pratchett minifigure auction for Alzheimers Research UK

^ Nice one, and what a sum it's raised already!
Yeah, it'd be a nice touch if Lego said 'yes' to the Discworld projects currently on Ideas.
^ I agree Zordboy.

Not as flash as the others, but I built this when I bought the bookends, a few years ago.
