Announcing Bricks LA
Posted by CapnRex101,
We have received details of a new LEGO convention being held in California a little later this year:
"Bricks LA is excited to announce the first annual LEGO fan convention at the Pasadena Convention Centre (300 E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91101) May 16th and 17th, 2015! Brick fans of all ages are welcome to join the festivities with over 6000 square feet of custom made models, vendors selling sets and accessories, and a free build area for the kids!
"With fan built LEGO models inspired by comics, movies, pop culture and classic themes such as space and town, there is something for the whole family to enjoy! Admission is only $5.00 and kids aged 12 and under are free! Public exhibition hours are Saturday May 16th from 10am to 6pm and Sunday May 17th from 10am to 5pm.
"Attendee registration is open for AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO) who would like to participate in the private portion of the event and display their LEGO creations for the public. Registering as an attendee allows exclusive access to participate in the private events, games and giveaways throughout the weekend! Plus, you can meet, hang out with and become friends with fellow LEGO enthusiasts from all over the Southern California region and beyond!
"Please visit BricksLA.com for more information and follow Bricks LA on Twitter @BricksLA and Facebook.com/BricksLA for updates!"
I was surprised to hear that this is the first AFOL convention held in the Los Angeles region, so I'm sure many readers will be excited to attend!

FINALLY, a big Lego event in Los Angeles. Those Lego fests in small German towns are great and all, but my family has been waiting years for something to take place in one of the largest metropolises on the planet. We are very happy and excited!
I'm surprised it took this long for an LA-area LEGO convention to be established, considering southern California is one of the most densely populated areas of the country. I wonder how much overlap there will be between Bricks LA and Bricks by the Bay attendees?
I was waiting for this kind of event!!
This is wonderful! I live in southern California and there are lots of AFOLs here. Other Lego conventions are too far/expensive/complicated for me to attend. But Pasadena is a day trip.
That's interesting - this is the same venue Brick Boutique has regularly operated out of. And that is just a week later.
Yea! We finally got our own L.A. brick con! Why should all the Borgs up in Unimatrix One (Silicon Valley) have all the fun? :)
