Batzarro minifig now in Asda

Posted by ,

The straight-to-video Warner Brothers film Justice League vs Bizarro League is now readily available in the UK. Asda has an exclusive on the Blu-ray version which comes with the free Batzarro minifig and, in my branch at least, has a huge stand of them next to the tills at the moment. It costs £8 and although I don't have high hopes for the film, it's just about worth buying it for the exclusive minifig, especially if you're a Super Heroes fan. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised...

So, who is Batzarro? According to Wikipedia, "Batzarro (Wayne Bruce) is a supervillain in the DC Comics Universe. He is a twisted doppelgänger of Batman, in the same vein as Bizarro, the similar doppelgänger to Superman." Also, "Just as Bizarro has a reversed "S" on his chest, Batzarro has Batman's bat-logo on his chest, but it is upside-down. He also wears a utility belt like Batman's. However, he wears it upside-down as well with the pockets open. He calls himself the 'World's Worst Detective.' "

Like most minifigs that come with videos and games, it comes pre-assembled packaged in a blister pack. Components are manufactured in Mexico and China.

The medium lavender torso has a crisp print of the upside-down Batman logo and utility belt.

The Minifig, Cape Cloth, Holes and Tattered Edges has been used for Castle and Chima minifigs previously, although this is its first appearance in black.

The white head is printed on both sides, a menacing grimace on one side and...

...an even more menacing one on the other. Although hidden by the cape, the back of the torso is printed with the upside-down utility belt.

So, there you have it. A nice minfig and one Super Heroes minifig collectors will no doubt be salivating over.

I don't think you can order Blu-rays from Asda, so if you're in the market for it, you'll have to head on to your local branch to pick one up.

If you're In the USA, this will be old news to you as the movie has been out for six weeks or so. If you don't have it yet you can get it at Amazon for $15 for the DVD, $18 for the Blu-ray.

By in United Kingdom,

I've been wondering if this would be reviewed...

I'll see if I can get it on Amazon for cheap (with the fig, of course).

The fig's going straight onto my Minifigure Shelves. :)

By in Australia,

My two year old loved the movie. I thought the other batman one was better.

Great...I have no idea where my nearest Asda is, but it isn't close (

The movie is clearly targeted to smaller children. In Germany you can get it at real.

hi
I bought 2 of these yesterday and as you say asda had a big stand with these on
and also other lego items and the Blu-ray version was running low

By in United States,

So...I actually watched the movie just to kill some time. And it's obviously not going to take prizes at any film festivals but it was actually pretty entertaining and, amazingly, not infantile. There was actually more than one reference to an obscure DC storyline that was used as a throwaway joke.

Also I want a Giganta maco-macro-macrofigure.

Your figure in the blister pack looks to have a broken chinstrap? Perhaps this is Benny Batzarro?

By in United Kingdom,

Pick this up yesterday and sold the Blu-ray to CEX for £6, cool fig for £2

I don't see a broken chinstrap..

I have the figure too. Looks good. A nice addition even though I had no idea who it was. But because it was Batman related, I had to own it. Thanks LEGO...

I toss the movie with the rest of the dvds I own, but have yet to watch it. This is like Hobbit. I bought it for the figures..

By in Canada,

I liked the "hidden" movie in the special features better then the actual film.

That's... um... hmmm. It seems at the same time overdetailed and too simple, and I really don't like that application of lavender. Yep, I'm going to pass on this one.

Perfect ... not far to travel since I work at Asda, and I'll get a 10% discount :-)
I guess we'll see the ridiculous prices on BrickLink fall now it's in the UK.

Dang it, I really want this figure, but I'm not sure where to get the movie from in Australia ...

@Zordboy
I have no interest in the figure itself. If they have them in my store I'll send the figure to you. I'll PM you when I'm next in work.

@Giogiogio
Yes, of course. But please let me check we have some left when I go into work first.
If anyone else outside the UK would like me to help out, drop me a PM by Wednesday evening. Please note that the Blu-Ray is likely to be Region B only.
