Mixels 2015 is just about to come to a close, so in my final review of the year, let's visit the last of the three tribes in Series 6.

The Weldos, who only occupied a screen-time of about one minute in the newest episode (their debut), are the headliner tribe of the series. They live on a construction site, which matches their motif. However, despite their important occupation on Planet Mixel, deconstruction is more their style.

But should you leave this crew on the shelves, or put them to work in your display? Click below to find out!

41545 Kramm

Kramm is the boss of the trio. Under his leadership, the city of Mixopolis was constructed by the Weldos. Although normally kindhearted, he can lose it if the others don't keep up with his efficient pace.

Weldos

Kramm's large jackhammer arm has a nice construction, as does his entire body. He also sports a hard-hat on his cycloptic eye, because of his status as a foreman. His foot build, consisting of half-boulder pieces, is also unique; due to the fact that it is hinged rather than ball-jointed.

Weldos

Kramm is my second favorite of the Weldos, because absolutely nothing could beat a chainsaw-themed Mixel.

41546 Forx

His mouth resembling a cement-mixer, Forx loves to destroy. This enthusiasm can unfortunately get the better of him, which causes him to go out of control smashing things. For some reason, he also has the ability of expelling traffic cones from his behind (which Waka has eaten, on one occasion).

Weldos

Forx is likely an elder, due to his beard, pronounced eyebrows (grey bananas, exclusive to this set), slippers, and hunchbacked position. He has a lot of useful elements, such as the aforementioned eyebrows, wheels, and a chain.

Weldos

While he is my least favorite Weldo, Forx still exhibits quite a bit of charm.

41547 Wuzzo

Here we go; my favorite Weldo, and one of the best Mixels of Series 6. I'm sure most of you will agree, as Wuzzo is based on nothing other than a chainsaw! His hinged top jaw is the center of the action, with grey studs used as the blades of the chainsaw. Also present are the half-closed 2x2 eye tiles that were present in Nurp-Naut, Kamzo and Turg.

Wuzzo also ends up as the tallest of his tribe, due to how his sloped feet are assembled.

Weldos

Awkward and lovable, Wuzzo has terrible coordination, which doesn't help when you're a living chainsaw. He always accidentally cuts things up, though he is quick to apologize.

Weldos

And as if Wuzzo on his own wasn't awesome enough, the set also includes...

King Nixel

The main antagonist of the Mixels franchise. He has arrived. Although fans used to think that Major Nixel was the leader of the Nixels swarm, this idea was disproven when the frightening monarch first appeared at Toy Fair this year, and at the end of the episode Mixel Moon Madness. In the game Mixels Rush and the recent episode A Quest for the Lost Mixamajig, King Nixel plays even more prominent roles.

Weldos

King Nixel is, in actuality, a normal-sized Nixel, as evidenced by his main form included with Wuzzo. But through his tall disguise, where many Nixel troops make up his limbs, he becomes a dark force full of uncreativity.

In August, instructions on how to build King Nixel's upgraded form were uploaded to the LEGO Club website. One can build it using the Nixels included in Series 4's Rokit, Flamzer and Vampos, Series 5's Gox, Krog and Turg, and Series 6's Slusho, Berp, and of course Wuzzo.

Weldos

King Nixel's upgraded form is a sight to behold. With articulation at the shoulders, head and waist, you'll have tons of fun commanding your Nixel army to break apart the Mixels!

My only con about this model is that it has golden elements, unlike his animated form, which makes use of silver. Also, there is no cloak to conceal the Nixels. Still, I appreciate LEGO's effort!

Verdict

Weldos

The Weldos are such a treat. Construction, being a popular subtheme in City, definitely had to make it into Mixels eventually. And I am totally thrilled with the way it has! They are my second favorite tribe of Series 6; only slightly beaten by the Munchos.

Final Thoughts

Series 6 is the best Mixels series yet. Every design in this series is inspired, and with these, we get a lot of pieces in new, awesome colors and so many interesting building techniques. Out of this series, we also get some of my favorite Mixels of all time. As this theme continues to grow in years to come, we can only hope that the creativity shown does not die.

Mixels Series 6 are available in all good shops and at shop.LEGO.com, so you can buy them all now to Mix, Max and Murp!

Thanks to Huw for the photos.

I like the idea of a large Nixel, something I think the theme has been lacking. I wonder how long it is until we get a Nixels wave...

Useful as a source of parts. Nothing more.
