Summer Star Wars: The Force Awakens set names revealed

Posted by ,

Just2Good has revealed the names of two sets based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens which are scheduled for release this summer, 'Encounter on Jakku' and 'Resistance X-wing'.

I happen to have heard the same two set names already so am confident that they are correct. You can watch Just2Good's video on the subject, which features additional information and speculation, after the break. There are some minor spoilers ahead.

I know that an Unkar Plutt minifigure is planned so would not be at all surprised to see it appear in 'Encounter on Jakku' as Just2Good suggests.

^NRG77, hope you are not Bothan :D

Why? :D

Because no want wants our leaker to die. ;)

Oh i'm not a leaker ;)

By in United Kingdom,

I'd love to see a Finn in ST armour, with the three lines of blood on the ST helmet!

By in United States,

A blue-and-white X-wing is kind of a no brainer. Here's hoping they'll revise the design to match what's in the movie a little better this time.

Encounter on Jakku sounds like a cloth-and-aliens parts pack. If it ends up including neither of those things it'll be a complete waste.

By in United States,

I'm cool with exclusives as long as it isn't for TRU. I hate that they mark up all their sets 10-15%. Cool to see we're getting a third wave of buildable figures, I love those.

Text. In a video. Smart.

waiting for huge FO Star destroyer set.

By in United States,

I want an Unkar Plutt Minifig!

By in Puerto Rico,

If there is another Ep7 X-Wing at less cost than Poe Dameron X-Wing I will get it and be thankful I didn't spend $80 on a set if the Resistance model turns up to be cheaper. As for the rest of the sets, not a fan and a good thing also considering that my big spending will be at January and May, anyone know when the SW Battlefront BP are coming?

By in United States,

Just like police stations we need a XWing every year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It might be a little too soon to expect it but maybe the Resistance X-Wing will be in UCS form.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, I guess with these and the rumored Starkiller Base pretty much confirmed, all that's left to make to complete the movie's the Star Destroyer.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm curious what the new buildable figures are going to be, but glad we're getting more, regardless! The other two sets sound good, too, though I'm sure many people are going to be frustrated to get another X-Wing, esp. since it's maybe too soon to expect significant improvements on this year's design. I don't mind getting redesigns but it's nice to have some buffer time in between so the designers can approach each new version with plenty of fresh ideas for possible improvements.

By in Australia,

Oh cool. I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait too long to fork out way too much money for a T-70 in standard colours. (which in all seriousness, I fully intend to do)

By in United States,

I'm just going to throw out the vain hope that the A-Wing includes Poe's mom, who was an A-Wing pilot. I mean, just make the pilot a generic female pilot in a green suit who even looks like Poe's mom, and I'll be happy. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Shara_Bey

By in United States,

I hope that encounter on jakuu is based on the opening seen of TFA, but due to the name I'm guessing it's more likely to be the second option. I would love to get a helmet less Poe and a fin with blood stain

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, there's a large number of things Encounter on Jakku might be. But I really hope the Resistance X-Wing is blue and white and better-shaped than Poe's.

I have the last A-Wing, so that one's a pass, but Ani's Podracer for $25 sounds good.

Clone Turbo Tank had better be better than the last two.

Can't wait for buildable Boba Fett. ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definitely looking forward to the X-wing. I wonder what figures will be in it though.

BUILDABLE BOBA!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I imagine that the A-Wing will be a Rebels tie-in with a blue/grey color scheme as seen in the show. Although Poe's mom was a pilot, a comic tie-in would be a bit more obscure.

As far as other TFA sets, I guess that there are a few scenes from Jakku and inside the Starkiller Base that could be cool, but I'd like more than anything to get a larger build of Maz Kanata's castle. The Takodana set that we've seen is very small. Also, some trees and snow could be refreshing in a SW set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Excited to see the sets, but why did I just watch a video of text? Is that where we've gone? From oral history, to written text, to radio, video, online video, and now, online videos of just text?

By in Australia,

Yes, Episode VI A-wing has been done in minifig size and polybag fairly recently. the A-wing listed above is I think another polybag, and given that there was a 2015 A-wing polybag, it's safe to say it will be a Star Wars Rebels R-22 Spearhead, commonly also referred to as an A-Wing, from Phoenix Squadron, in blue and white. Note that this is a different craft to the Return of the Jedi one. The differences are subtle, but they're there.

By in United States,

Hope the constractions include some REBELS! Much like Obi in wave 1, these animated folks seem to transition well. Would love to get Sabine, Kanan, Herra, Zeb, Ezra. . . ok so yeah, REBELS! :D

By in Singapore,

Hope this new Resistance X-wing is not UCS, but I'm pretty sure Lego doesn't want Poe's X-wing to be obsolete so soon. If I'm going to pay such a costly amount, they should've came up with a design closely accurate to the source material, and they didn't. My biggest issue are the wings when in closed position. Poe's pilot suit is supposed to be red as seen in the movie, but that's a minor detail I can overlook.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

People are moaning about the new x-wing... Why???
It won't be another version of Poe's!
It'll be white and blue! (and probably have revised wings) what's not to like?

I hope it's not UCS, however.

By in Germany,

I read that A-wing should be a Walmart exclusive. I don't know Walmart, and I think I won't buy in its shops in next months, but does this "exclusive" mean that the set won't be available on Lego.com's shop or Amazon or other online shops? Please save me!

By in United Kingdom,

@yuffie
Yes, I think you're right about that. I don't think I'd link such a video to a news article on here, but just reference from whom the leak came. But I vaguely remember Huw getting some stick for that in the past...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I was hoping for a minifig scale classic X-wing (with the new canopy piece). Now if the Resistance X-wing is going to be in minifig scale, there is probably no chance to get one in the next 2 years..

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Henry_D: You do realise that it won't be a revised version of Poe's. It will be a normal white and blue one. That means that you haven't wasted your money, because technically, they are different ships.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nuruodo, to answer your question, it does not mean it won't be available in lego shops, Lego.com, or Amazon. It just means that Walmart is the only retailer you can get it from. Consider yourself saved!:)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Many Bothans died to bring us this information.

Gravatar
By in France,

The prices could be also good indicators of what the sets promise.
Any hints?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Another pod racer and A-wing?! Why!? I'm tired of these remakes that are 3-4 years apart. Do something you haven't done for a while, or even ever. Jango's slave I maybe. But hey, a clone turbo tank! Yes! Ive been waiting for one of those.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll believe these when I see proof.

Gravatar
By in United States,

nice another clone turbo tank and x-wing

Gravatar
By in United States,

LOL Krollins! Looking forward to these as I haven't really been motivated to get many Star Wars sets lately.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Another Clone Turbo Tank? Why would they make this again?

Doesn't seem to be a lot of newness or variety in these sets. I've got Poe's X-Wing, so the Blue and White version may look good next to it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The current UCS Red Five Xwing is retiring soon so this new X wing could be a update of this, I would rather it wasn't ucs as would like something new for that range.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

UCS Red Five is already retired, at least in the Swedish part of shop @home. Same with the Death Star UCS.

Gravatar
By in {Unknown country},

I think/hope the X-wing is the one we see at the beginning of the movie on Jakku. If that's true, there's a chance that set will contain a Finn-with-blood-on-helmet minifigure, as the Encounter on Jakku set will most likely represent the scenes with Finn and Rey.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Maybe this new x-wing is just a microfighter...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@fabiano: Not really, because there already is a Resistance X-wing microfighter.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Guess it's time to buy my first pod racer!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is this the same A-wing that has the number 75143? I thought it was going to be an exclusive to go along with Kanan's Speeder Bike and the Homing Spider Droid in the Jan 2016 releases. Guess not, but if it is that one, it seems out of place.

By in United States,

I'm interested to know what the next line of buildable figures will be. I'm hoping for a Darth Maul and Boba Fett. I could see them doing a Qui Gonn, Dooku, ROTS Anakin, ESB Luke, Han Solo, or maybe even a Lando in his ROTJ disguise. I have my doubts they'll do any more TFA figures, but you never know.
