The announcement of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens video game has finally confirmed that 30605 Finn (FN-2187) will be available with purchases of the Deluxe Edition of the game on certain platforms.

We have been able to acquire this exclusive polybag several months in advance so we can bring you an early review!

Minifigure

Finn is one of the most interesting new characters from The Force Awakens in my opinion, due in no small part to his origins as a First Order Stormtrooper.

30605 Finn (FN-2187)

The printed designs on his torso, hips and legs are very similar to those on the standard First Order Stormtrooper minifigure but some additional sandy details are included to reflect the conditions on Jakku. These dirty patterns continue onto the back of the torso and look very authentic.

30605 Finn (FN-2187)

Finn's head and hair are the same as on the minifigure which has appeared in 75105 Millennium Falcon and 75139 Battle on Takodana. Two expressions are included, one frowning and the other fearful, both of which are appropriate given his desperate situation at this point in the film.

30605 Finn (FN-2187)

Finn is armed with a blaster rifle. It might have been nice to see his bloodstained helmet included too, although the argument could be made that this minifigure is based on Finn after he crash lands on Jakku and following the loss of his helmet onboard the TIE Fighter. On the other hand, the same could be said of his blaster as it is mentioned in the movie that Finn is unarmed upon arriving at Tuanal Village.

Overall

There are very few significant characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet to be represented in minifigure form and some of the gaps will be filled in the summer. As a result I think this alternate version of Finn is an excellent offering as the character only appears in two other sets and this polybag allows you to recreate some of the early scenes on Jakku as Finn flees from the First Order.

30605 Finn (FN-2187)

30605 Finn (FN-2187) will be available with purchases of the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens video game when it is released in June. We do not yet know the precise purpose of the code shown on the front of the polybag for certain, but presumably it will unlock some exclusive content in the game.

Looks good! I don't plan to get the game, so I hope he doesn't become as expensive as 5002946 Silver Centurion...

Did you make that Poe yourself with superman's new hairpiece and Fin's torso with different hands, or is that actually the one that will appear in 75149?

@pagani88 - It is a combination of current elements. I believe the minifigure in 75149 Resistance X-wing Fighter will consist of the same pieces, although the torso printing may be slightly different.

@CapnRex101 If the code is like the one for the Silver Centurion it will unlock Finn in the game. The game is up on gamestop.com in the USA, but only the $70 deluxe edition for the PS4 and Xbox One is showing the Finn polybag.

I want one! But...not buying the game. Lol.

@CapnRex101: Oh right. That's quite good, because I'm hoping the one in 75149 has a jacket that is zipped up, because that will make it more realistic.

^^ Same here. XD

Not a bad figure but a bit underwhelming compared to some of the past video game minifigures. Though I guess I was hoping for Jedi Master Luke, which was a bit unrealistic.

I guess the blood-stained helmet was a bit too much to hope for...

It's not a bad little minifig. BUT... nobody ever packages these with PC games. :(

Spend $70 for a Stormtrooper? Pass.... I hope he'll be a cheap purchase elsewhere.

Also on Amazon.com so might not be an exclusive. Hopefully the polybags come packed with the game from now on. Just hope they aren't $70 from now on.

I agree with Duq. I was really hoping this poly would include the blood-stained helmet. :-\

By in United Kingdom,

would have been cool if his helmet with the blood stain was included

No helmet? Well he an be useful still.

By in United Kingdom,

the code on the front unlocks the character within the game. I have LEGO Avengers the video game and the Silver Centurion was the poly bag with the game and the code on that bag unlocked the character in the game.

I love how people want a blood-stained helmet despite how extremely morbid that would be for a kids toy. Just... why?
Also what's the big deal? They just put some dirt on the armor. It's not worth paying the full price of a game that only covers one movie in a typical LEGO fashion. They are inevitably going to adapt more Star Wars movies into games.

Cool minifig, too bad though he does not come with a helmet with some dust on it. I don't care about blood stains, but a helmet to match his armour would have made him an even better minifig IMO.
@CapnRex101 thanx for the review!

Still feel this minifig should've been included with the First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter set (along with Poe), and not as an exclusive polybag. Since I dread the price of the Deluxe Edition, buying the Takodana set to customize a Finn stormtrooper would be a far worthy investment IMO. The weathered stormtrooper suit is just minor detail to me.

Poe's shirt wasn't black in the film (khaki I guess), so his torso printing should be different in the Resistance X-wing set.

Cool minifigure and thanks for the review. Can't wait for the game.

I'll pass. Switching heads from the other sets will achieve the same look... Just no "dust". After paying for Dimensions and finding out I needed Xbox Live just to use my new packs. I've lost a lot of enthusiasm for LEGO video games.

Good chance that these will show up at Toys R Us. The seem to get some rare polybags, at least at mine.

@redtrooper27, This is exclusive to the video game.

Is there a precedent for blood-stained LEGO characters? Where are all these nonsensical "I wish the blood was on there" comments coming from. I don't think LEGO could get away with cute figures with spilled blood on them the way Hasbro could. C'mon guys.

There is nothing wrong with lego putting blood on his helmet as the kids that buy STAR WARS sets obviously would've seen the new STAR WARS film so would've seen the far more realistic blood on screen. If they can see that they can see 3 red lines of printing on a PLASTIC toy I mean seriously!!!!!!

A little blood printing on Finn's helmet would be morbid to include? It would only look authentic to the film, not morbid IMO. Obviously some people have forgotten about the Darth Vader's Apprentice/ Galen Marek minifigure from the Rogue Shadow set, which shows blood stained bandages printed on it's torso: http://brickset.com/minifigs/sw181

I too hope for another way of getting this version of the Finn minifigure. Especially since in our country we hardly ever get a bonus item included with a special edition of a game or DVD / Blu-ray... (The only time I can remember we got something like this in Holland was the inclusion of a Vitruvius minifig with the Blu-ray / DVD combo of The LEGO Movie and then only at one certain retailer.)

Thanks for the review CapnRex101 and a nice minifig nevertheless!

While I understand that I don't have the "right" to be able to easily collect them all, I'm a tad bit disappointed that the polybag figure isn't available with non-PS4/XboxOne versions of the game.

I just got Lego Avengers for the PS3 and that included the Silver Centurion and I happily added the Season Pass for all DLC content for $10 more when I bought it. And that's all the special edition of the game is - you get the game, the polybag and the season pass.

Maybe the issue is that they don't plan on having DLCs for the previous console versions?

Here's hoping that there are some other means of getting this game that includes getting the Finn polybag.

You don't need to pay for Xbox Live, you "just" need to have your console hooked up to the Internet to download the new content. And the starter set had a big fat "INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED" on the front of the box, so it's not like you weren't warned.

By in United States,

What set is that Poe Dameron minifig from?

Gravatar
By in United States,

It would have been cool if he had the helmet with the blood streaks down the front like in the movie.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@gmonkey76: Yeah, that is my concern that the figure only comes with the 'deluxe' game. The good news is if you have an Amazon prime account I think you get 20% off of pre-order and 'new' video games, so that would help I think. But not sure I want to pay a huge amount for a game.

It would be good though if the manufacturer directly adds the figures into the package at the factory now.

Anyone know if this body is same as trooper bodies from the old droid escape set?
