Top of the morning to ye, happy Saint Patrick's Day! Whether you are Irish or not, I bet you are finding a way to celebrate today. Going to a parade? Wearing green?

Whatever the case, I bet you are interested in reading some information on Irish or green-related LEGO sets and events right now; am I right? If you are curious, take a look after the break...

First off, the minifigure pictured above, the Leprechaun, was a part of Collectable Minifigures Series 6 in 2012. He came with a pot of gold, not shown. I'm a huge fan of this minifig. Are you?

LEGO Brand Stores have also celebrated Saint Patrick's Day in big ways.

A Monthly Mini Model Build in March 2009 included a leprechaun and pot of gold. There are a lot of interesting pieces which created an overall nice model.

On multiple Saint Patrick's Days in previous years, if somebody found the four-leaf clover hidden in the store, they would receive "surprise savings". One could also have entered into a draw to win a "LEGO pot of gold".

No one can forget the simple and classic green brick separator! No one really makes a fuss about the color, but its inclusion in this article is logical as it has helped builders time and time again. This first version of the brick separator has since been replaced with a new mold, which is orange.

Another green utility that many have cherished is the legendary baseplate.

BIONICLE has given us many green Toa of Air/Jungle. Flash back to 2002, 8567 Lewa Nuva was released.

This version of the cheerful Toa was portrayed with an Irish accent in the 2003 film Mask of Light.

LEGO has had plenty of direct-to-consumer sets that let their green shine; 10185 Green Grocer, 10194 Emerald Night and 10242 Mini Cooper MK VII, just to name a few.

Two of which even have variations of names for the color in their own names!

Many were overjoyed when LEGO announced they had acquired the Toy Story license from Disney, and even more so when the sets were released in 2010. One set that had fans especially happy was 7595 Army Men on Patrol. Not only did we get to see the famous toy soldiers recreated in minifigure form, but practically all of the 90 pieces included were in green!

Also from an animated license, many green pieces appeared in the SpongeBob SquarePants set 3817 The Flying Dutchman, featuring the titular green pirate ghost himself!

In another completely different license, 79003 An Unexpected Gathering from The Hobbit may take the prize for the most amount of green pieces in a licensed set.

Ninjago has also had its fair share of green sets; due to the Serpentine and a very important character (Lloyd Garmadon!) being green, with their vehicles to match.

My highlights are 9443 Rattlecoptor and 9450 Epic Dragon Battle (Great Devourer) for the Serpentine and 70722 OverBorg Attack and 70755 Jungle Raider for Lloyd.

The ghost villains faction in the 2015 Possession storyline also had plenty of green in their sets, with 70736 Attack of the Morro Dragon and 70743 Airjitzu Morro Flyer.

Constraction fans rejoiced when DC Super Heroes constraction figures, such as 4527 The Joker and 4528 Green Lantern, introduced a new shade of green (bright) for CCBS shells in 2012.

This color is now being used in the BIONICLE reboot, in sets such as 70784 Lewa - Master of Jungle and 71305 Lewa - Uniter of Jungle. I wonder where it will show up next!

Classic spacemen may have been around since the 1980's, but it took until August 2014 for there to be a green variant, with 21109 Ideas Exo-Suit. For some, the minifigs were the majority of the reason why they purchased this spectacular set!

Ironically, with the exception of the minifigures, there was no other green included.

Into Mixels? The theme, in its first three years, has given us two branches of the green Glorp Corp, three Orbitons in Series 4 and soon, the Trashoz in Series 9. These provide a plethora of green pieces to use in MOCs.

41520 Torts is probably the most "St. Patrick-y" of the bunch, with starfish hands that look like clovers!

Any important sets that I missed? Leave a comment below and let me know!

^ How could I forget!

By in United States,

Was Lewa in Mask of Light Irish? I thought of him more as a hippie in that film... But it has been years since I have seen it.

I doubt Lego is ever going to give us U2 and Guinness in a set someday...

By in United Kingdom,

Great article! I'm actually in Ireland at the moment. I'm just about the only person not dressed in green :-)

The original forestmen would make a good addition. They are among the coolest minifigs ever...

Gravatar
By in United States,

really guys? Does anyone remember Lego 3450 Statue of Liberty Sculpture?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not the right shade...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Plus Statue of Liberty yells "AMERICA (and France too...)".

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah, there are MULTIPLE reasons why that wasn't a contender for the list. XD

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Leprachaun was in series 6, not 9.....

By in United States,

^ I corrected that right after you commented, actually; not seeing your comment until just now.

By in United States,

What about Green Lantern vs. Sinestro? That set contained 6 different (depending on how you count the trans colors) shades of green.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I find it odd that people say "happy saint patricks day!" Im not irish. Its like going up to an atheist and saying "happy Holy Thursday!"

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Panda Hero It's like going up to an atheist and saying Happy Christmas...

I'd completely forgotten today was St Patrick's Day, doesn't mean anything to me really. Cute article though.

So who is going to write an article for St George's Day? Not much George related material but St George is famous for his battle with the dragon so I vote we make April 23rd Lego Dragon Day :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

THATS A WONDERFUL IDEA! WE ARE GOING TO CELEBRATE FORGIVE MOM AND DAD DAY TOMORROW!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^^ Seconded!

Talking of dragons, you don't get much greener than Set 3724 LEGO Dragon - one of my personal favourites.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

^ LostInTranslation Seconded (again)! or should that be Thirded? does this mean motion carried?

A LEGO St. George's/ Dragon Day sounds great! And the dragon from the Elves 41176 Secret Marketplace set can do double duty: St Patrick's Day because it's primarily green & has a treasure chest on its back, and for St. George's Day because it's a dragon :)

Wow, I really forgot some obvious ones! Updating, thanks everyone!

Gravatar
By in United States,

We must include the two version of ol' Brickley then dragon, 4400001 and 40019.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Good evening from the Emerald Isle. We had unusually good weather for the parade in Dublin this morning.
You missed another REALLY obvious one: the Emerald Night!
Oh, and yes, I like the leprechaun minifig; he's the mascotte of my Bricklink shop.

By in United States,

I am not Irish, so why should I or the vast majority of the planet celebrate or care that it is St Patrick's Day. I assume, in the interests of fairness, that St Georges Day will be celebrated. After all many more people are English than Irish.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Couple thing missing, primarily other Toa of air like Matau, Kongu & Lesovikk. Matoran of air, various green coloured villains from canisters & other green boxed set figures (mainly villains). Along with a couple from Hero Factory

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Can't believe how offended some people get about a throwaway article! The Leprechaun was my first CMF, bought by an Irish friend of mine for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Almost every holiday has some sort of background that you could say "Why should i celebrate it" Almost every american celebrates Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Valentines day. Those all have Christian backgrounds, yet non-Christians and atheists celebrate them

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ah, but we missed St David's Day! Which'd be a... list of daffodil-like builds and dragons I guess. And red.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What about the ghost wave from Ninjago or even any of Lloyds vehicles

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ Lucy and DrDave.
In that case, I've got you both covered- just wait and watch.

Gravatar
By in United States,

DJLeo - yoy have a point. However many more people are Christian than are Irish. Plus it is people putting on fake accents and pretending to be Irish when they are not.

Gravatar
By in United States,

How about An Unexpected Gathering, 79003-1? That set easily had a ton of green. And a word from across the pond, Happy St. Patrick's Day y'all. And since we are talking about different Catholic, Orthodox, and (Anglican?) Holidays, let's not forget the good ol' Southern Baptist tradition of Feasting. (No lie, any reason to eat is capitalized on.) I say we have an article on the evolution of the minifigures diet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The moment they revealed the green Classic Space figs in Exosuit was a great moment in Lego history--never has a company shown so much love for its long time fans than at that moment!

Gravatar
By in United States,

You miss Ninjago sets that are green and include Lloyd as the Green Ninja!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

One word... BASEPLATES

Gravatar
By in United States,

How about 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship? Probably the greenest set to come out of the Star Wars line...

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

We haven't had much luck getting a lego store here in Ireland...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Another vote here for the Emerald Night and the Mini Cooper.

And any set with a Hulk bigfig!

I've actually got a shelf on my Lego display with those three items, as well as Eve from the Exi Suit and the green Unimog-esque snow plow from last years City range. Soo green.

By in United Kingdom,

Why the fuss about St Paddy's? Did I miss the article on St. David's day on the 1st?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yes, I wish TLG would give us a Lego store!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why all the negativity? I did this article because I had the idea and couldn't get it out of my head, and a lot of people enjoy articles like this. Not every article will be tailored for everyone; I don't expect them to be. But that doesn't mean you can to and complain.

And just because St. Patrick's Day came out of Ireland doesn't mean non-Irish people are prohibited from celebrating it. I only have a teeny tiny little bit of Irish in me, and yet my family goes all out. AND I live in the United States. And since I've never even HEARD of St. George's Day, I assume it's not as a big a deal as St. Patrick's. They can have their historical article too,, of course, to be fair; but I won't be the one to write it.

Bottom line, let everyone have their fun. It seems hypocritical to me for others to want more diversity in articles on Brickset, then we try to give you that and yet we still get complaints. No winning, I guess.

On another note, I'll be adding all of these suggestions throughout today!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have the dark-grey version of the green separator. In many ways the old dark-grey or green separator is superior to the new smaller orange one, and I use both all the time. A green one would be easier to find than the dark grey.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ I second @bezley's mention of Technic 8479 - I just acquired this set last week mainly for the green technic parts. Also tossing in a mention for Technic 42039 24 Hours Race Car.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Cool article! I hadn't an idea about green seperator, even though I still have one in grey ;)

On the sidenote, guys, what about our Super Heroes month? I'm checking every day for new Marvel/DC sets' reviews! Where's Cap'n?!?

Gravatar
By in United States,

So much green, omg lego's new theme color is green! ;)

By in United Kingdom,

@LostInTranslation,

The place I most associate with western dragons isn't England, it's Wales. They love (red) dragons there. They even have one on their national flag!

As someone who is a bit of a fan of dragons and who lives in Surrey, I wish England were the cultural centre of all things draconic, but it just isn't so.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Thank you for some people remembering St. David. Yes the flag of Wales does have a red dragon on it, so more appropriate for a "Dragon Day" (after all St. George killed a dragon, so not such a good one for Dragon day)... Though England is sometimes associated with a white dragon...

Or, since that one has been missed, China's national day is the first of October, and they are heavily in dragons... Might this be an upcoming potential Dragon Day??

Anyway, for green sets, what about the first 3 MBA sets, or is the lime green the wrong shade??

What about 42008 Service Truck?
