The summer range is starting to arrive in North American Toys R Us stores as well as LEGOLAND parks. Our video reviewing partner JANGBRiCKS has been able to find some of them on sale in his area and has already produced a number of video reviews for your enjoyment, which can be found after the break.

Our own reviews will follow once the sets become available in the UK. Let us know in the comments if you find them in your local area.

Jangbricks is the greatest Lego set reviewer/MOC builder I have ever seen. Keep up the good work Jang!!

I Love "Fun in the Park"

By in Netherlands,

I love Jangbricks reviews, combined with the brickbuilder speedbuilds, it's pretty much all i need on that front.

Love his take-down on the price on 60132 (16:00 minute mark). I know its low-hanging fruit and cliche to b**** about pricing, but $90 for the gas station is absolute insanity.

By in Australia,

I never had a service station when I was young so was happy when I saw that this was coming but $90! AFOLs like me aside, for the same price as Prison Island I think I know what most parents will buy. Did I miss something and they now need to pay a 3rd party OCTAN royalties.

I cannot recall Jang being that harsh on pricing before, a gripe here or there but nothing like this. Saying something.

That gas station is beautiful, but the price should be $60-$70; not $90!

By in United Kingdom,

I am looking forward to finding out the UK price for 60132 Service Station as $89.99 in the US does seem pretty outrageous.

By in United States,

A big thank you to JANGBRiCKS for the high-quality, balanced/fair, & family-friendly reviews! I was so pleased to be able to recommend the channel & reviews to audiences at local LEGO presentations I did, with no qualms or qualifiers! THANK YOU!!!

By in Canada,

Love that you and Jangbricks work together! Two of my favourite places to read and watch about lego!

By in United States,

The fact you get three planes and a hanger for $90 vs a tiny gas station for the same price is completely insane. City is more outrageous than Star Wars. It's all very crazy.

By in United States,

JANG is very thorough and thoughtful in his reviews. He is my inspiration for starting a channel!

By in France,

Love Jangbricks and his perfect reviews :-D
By the way, The Brick Show has reviewed the Summer Star Wars sets :-p

I predict the Service Station will be on perpetual sale as I don't see how it'll move at that price. Jang is correct to say it is 50% overpriced (even $60 is a bit steep, and it's 50% over that). 30-50% off would make it about right, and at that price I'd even consider getting two to make the alternate build.

By in Netherlands,

Honestly I have trouble watching other Lego reviewers because of Jang. He's clear, well-spoken, funny and shows the set and it's features really well. I'm excited for the new SW sets but I think I'm gonna wait for Jang's reviews.

The price is on the 60132 is especially egregious when you consider it doesn't have a baseplate.

Just got People in the Park today and I can't wait to open it, though I'm saving it for my daughter's birthday. It's basically 15 minifigures (if you include the baby) for less than $3 a pop, plus accessories.

I found Fun in the Park at TRU in the Minneapolis area. I initially felt the price was a bit high, but I changed my mind after putting it together. I feel that the minifigs could have been part of a city focused CMF series. If you consider that a CMF costs $3.99, 14 of them would total more than Fun at the Park and you wouldn't get the extra stuff that comes in this set like the bench, table, hotdog cart, etc..
The last page of the instructions suggests swapping the parts around to make your own figures. With all the different wigs, torsos, and heads there must be at least a hundred unique combinations possible. (Someone else can do the math to get an exact number)
I'll probably buy Fun at the Park again, espescially if I see it on sale.
That gas station just doesn't seem worth $90 though.

I watched a couple of The Brick Show's new Star Wars reviews and struggled to get through them. They are positive to the extent that they hardly acknowledge any drawbacks while Brickset and Jang comment on the good and bad of each set which is part of the reason I enjoy them so much.

I'm really looking forward to LEGO City this summer!

^I totally agree about those Brick Show Star Wars reviews - they're gushing to a ludicrous extent. The worst case is with the Star Scavenger, which from the review just looked awful (particularly the loader thing). I was amazed when it received a 9.8 out of 10 on the ....? scale!

Really looking forward to Jang's reviews though... as always.

I am only interested in the first two, but that hangar is interesting to say the least.

By in United States,

When I saw that gas station, I thought "maybe $40-50 at MAX" but when I saw that price I nearly fainted!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Thanks for the great reviews Jang, I really enjoy them. The gas station, fun in the park and Creator RV is multiple buys for sure!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice article! Speaking of new sets, there are pictures of Big Ben out now!

By in United States,

Great stuff.

By in United States,

Has to be a mistake on the gas station price. Absolutely nothing to justify what should a $49.99 set. On a non-related note *** LEGO Big Ben 10253 Creator Expert Set pics are out. 4000+ pcs - mostly tan

By in France,

I really appreciate JangBricks and I watch every review he does. He's very a good guy. All of his reveiws are in HD and very well filmed and evplained, without never being boring. Thanks JangBricks ! :)

My Shell Station from the mid 80's (a personal favorite) costs me $40 back then. At $90, I cant see anyone actually enjoying it. Maybe its a miss print? or inaccurate??

God I miss those old front flap yellow boxes with the blue cardboard trays.

^^^ We know. We can't post anything about it until tomorrow, when the press release is due; which is good, because the images then will be much better quality. :-)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Deyorew: While I definitely agree with everyone that the set is waaaay too expensive, you should take a look at how much inflation changes the $40 from the 80s.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Prison Island released at the start of 2016 has 700+ pieces and has an MSRP of 89.99$ US. The Service station has 500+ pieces, fewer Minifigures and costs the exact same. Somebody has made a serious mistake in pricing for this LEGO City set, because there is no way that a 2-1 City set with 200 fewer pieces should cost the same price as the flagship Police Station/Jail set of the Theme for this year.

Jang is right to caution anyone on dropping their hard earned dollars on that set. And the fact that this happened fills me with alarming concern for future MSRP 500 piece sets, because if it can happen once than it will happen again.

Jang is a great visual reviewer and I enjoy his work, especially as he isn't quite as, shall we say, energetic as The Brick Show. I find their more recent reviews to be rather hit or miss in filling you in on the details of the set and what's good or bad about it. They seemed to have a lot better reviewing strategies in the past. I may have to switch over to Jang for my go-to visual reviews.

By in United States,

I would love to buy 2 of the service/petrol/gas stations. But the cost of $90 is not justified. Most Lego sets today still cost about $0.10/piece, and by that metric, this set should cost between $50 and $60. There are no large pieces, or special molds in this set to justify the inflated cost. So, as many others have eluded to, I will wait until this set is about 40% off on Amazon before I considering buying (2 of them :)).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Nice reviews. I like the airport sets. That petrol station is a little on-the-nose, though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Its funny; I started looking a bit more at Jang's other stuff and found out he has another channel that reviews, Pocketknifes and has Halo gameplay videos? Man's got a lot of hobbies I say. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKb2cOyWjNU

By in Malaysia,

Always love Jang's good work in reviewing sets. He has 'poisoned' me many many times before to buy the sets which sometimes I don't think I really need it. Keep up the good job Jang... you're the best Lego sets reviewer so far and you've set high benchmark for others to follow. On this Service Station set.. yeah its impressive to have alternate built for a City set but that price is too steep. For a $90 sets, here in my country the converted price would reach MYR400 which would be very very expensive for a medium large City set.

JANGBRiCKS is the greatest and honestest video reviewer!!! Please go on. Patryk

By in United Kingdom,

The planes in the air show set look great, especially the biplane. It's like three Creator sets in one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That's over $100USD for the gas station when you convert it.

I get LEGO prices go up, and the Train Station was overpriced too, but sheesh, can we get a nice police station for $90-$100 with hundreds more pieces than that TINY gas station.

We need to b---- about it so LEGO corrects that outrageous mistake. LEGO brought down the price of some ELVES sets and this one needs to be next because it's a decent set at $60.

By in United Kingdom,

I appreciate the loving attention to detail but am now tempted to buy sets I would not otherwise have considered! ;)
