What happened to the Youtube announcement?
I'm going to say I have no clue as to what you are referring to as it seems I missed something along the way however I think there is no need for a YouTube channel. I like to come and read articles here. Brickset has a good arrangement with a top notch Lego video reviewer in Jangbricks. I don't think many folks can compete with his delivery, content or style in this format. At least in my opinion.
I deleted the announcement. I do think it's a good idea that we look into having a YouTube channel but before we launch it we need to be clear on what we want it to achieve and be sure that we can produce content of a quality that you would expect from the Brickset brand, and which is worthwhile producing.
At the moment I am not clear on our goals and and not sure we can produce worthwhile content so its launch has been postponed.
But, as you ^ rightly say, perhaps we should leave it to the experts and concentrate on what we are good at...
Thanks for the response @Huw and thanks for all you and your team do here for all of us that come here for Lego related stuff.
Well honestly i am a bit disappointed, but i completely agree with postponing until you have an idea of whats to come. tallblocktoo: i agree with you as well. the need for a Youtube channel isnt completely necessary, but it would be nice if they did produce content on there. since i use Youtube a fair bit, it would be nice to not have to switch back and forth from brickset and Youtube. I do like the format and all that, and there really isnt anything that can be done to improve
I was sad to see it taken down however I do understand. I don't think there is a need to review via videos as you already partner with Jang. I was hoping it would be regular news via video, perhaps you can partner with someone who does LEGO news? I often miss the news articles on Brickset as I primary use it for set information and reading reviews. I turn to YouTube for news but with The Brick Show not uploading regularly with the news as much as they did in the past I don't always catch some of the less "popular" news. It would be nice to see a dedicated channel for LEGO News. I would offer to help but my YouTube content is not great and certainly not Brickset Brand worthy.
