Star Wars Celebration Europe begins today

Posted by ,

Star Wars Celebration Europe opens to the public today and a number of LEGO events are being run over the three days of the show. These include a panel about the making of The Freemaker Adventures and a discussion of LEGO Star Wars and its impact on the toy industry led by James Burns and Duncan Jenkins.

I will be in attendance on behalf of Brickset and will be publishing a report from the show next week. If you are unable to attend but are interested in keeping up with all the news from the event as it emerges then I would recommend visiting Jedi News and keeping an eye on their Facebook and Instagram pages where images and videos are being posted live.

By in United Kingdom,

Lego are giving out poly bags of Kylo ren's shuttle, new order tie fighter, awing, and finalizer if you build an X wing or a tie fighter at their stand. Great to get these, but shame there is no unique set like at previous events.

Really wish I could be there. I also just wanted to let all of our fellow Lego fans, all of our fellow humanity, living in France and everywhere in the world know that our prayers are with them in these difficult times. Love will always conquer hate, and we are sending all of our love to you.

By in United States,

I really enjoyed the freemaker adventures panel, and it made me go back to see the sets - even to decide that I will pick them up when they go down in price. The lego collectors panel did not really mention much lego at all - neither the latest sets already out or the rogue one sets (we expect or have glimpsed online) were even mentioned. Just a trip around Billund (why would we need to hear about that when the idea of the talk is collecting SW lego?) and generally collecting Lego related articles. Very disconnected and boring in my view. At the end i thought - is that it? Good answer to thoughts on the latest Hoth set. The Blocks magazine is amazing.

By in Australia,

Attended yesterday.
The little one enjoyed the building of the little x-wing and little tie fighter, and the polybags on exit.
I enjoyed that too, and enjoyed seeing her happy.
I was hoping to see a peek of future sets or ideas at least, sadly not,
The sales and availability of Lego sets was really quite poor, a few stores selling a few pieces but not a lot and not too many exciting sets.
After seeing the model AT-ACT, I really hope there is a future set of this one.

^^ Unfortunately, we are not allowed to talk about future sets at all - as is the policy of LEGO, and we have to respect that. We've been doing the LEGO SW Collectors Panel for many years and we thought people would like to hear about the factory as it's something that's not talked about much. We had a lot of positive feedback on that and the evolution of the minifigure. Big thanks to Kim on the LEGO CEE Team for kindly giving us a poly bag for each attendee. We'll take your comments on board for next time though ;-)
