By in Australia,

Yes it is, just make sure you are logged in to your VIP account. I placed my order an hour ago.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

1st day order for me.. And it's on it's way.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I'm waiting for reviews, but I just can't be disappointed with this. It's so great they made a huge, finished Castle instead of adding various subbuilds to increase play value. It screams AFOL to me, there seems so be no compromise on this one. Just build it and admire.

I'll wait for double VIP points though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll wait for a better promotion or double VIP points... The police chase promo is awful! The london bus would have made this a day one purchase, but dammit I want a freebie! And the chase does not cut it!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Unfortunately I can't afford this and the death star.
I just hope the death star includes a canteen(if you don't know what I am talking about look it up)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

According to a Eurobricks thread the death star looks like an update of the old one, so you'll have to make your own... Mine is in the dead space above the base.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm a VIP, but I am going to wait. I will buy it, just not now. Why spend the money, now, with such a poor premium w/purchase polybag? Shame on LEGO. There should have been an exclusive Disney polybag with this. Do you agree? While the castle itself is nice, the minifigure selection is poor. First Hoth, now this...and even though I will buy the new Death Star, shame if reports are true that it's just with the minor tweaks / updates to the original. Suppose these sets are opposites, one is a minor revision with possibly 24 new figures, the other is all-new with basically what we got in polybags plus one. Odd marketing strategy from the World's best Omni channel retailer?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm going to wait for double VIP points

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's so beautiful... I doubt if I'll ever be able to afford the thing, but I'm happy it exists; I love that they obviously pulled out all the stops for this one...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ronvining
I see the reasoning behind those figs in the castle and it is absolutely not odd. This set will be on sale for many years to come, while the Minifigures series has a relatively short life.

The characters included are the most staple Disneyland mascots and this set will be the only source to get them. Without them, the people who wanted to fill it with the iconic figures would be condemned to hunt them on the aftermarket. This way LEGO ensures that everybody can reliably get Mickey et al at least.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

That´s a true masterpiece! Gonna buy it when it´s 50% off (:

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This, or a new graphics card?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll just wait for the Death Star

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

No double points and the police promo is really bad, we'll have to wait :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

That is one big castle.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^^ This or a fridge and a washing machine....

Clearly LEGO is targeting consumers who have the basics covered and a lot of disposable income...

Gravatar
By in South Africa,

Love it! Can't wait for this to be released in South Africa. Will buy it the day it's available here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yep, Disney Castle is still a gorgeous model. Wish I could afford it... now for the reviews to come in. :D

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

@Huw : I disagree. Clearly LEGO is targetting anyone who isn't prepared to wait for a big discount. ;-)

Yep. My usual rant about pricing.

There's absolutely NO WAY that I (and a number of other AFOLs I know) will be buying this at the RRP - it's almost a 25% mark-up in NZ$ versus the US$ price. By comparison, GB£ pays 8% more than US$, and EU€ pays 13% more than US$.

So until it's heavily discounted - locally, or online - LEGO can simply take this wonderful castle and stick the pointy bit where the sun don't shine ... :-D

Looking forward to the reviews to start coming in so that we can see what we're waiting for!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Inversion
I never said that I didn't understand the reasoning behind the included minifigures, I stated that the selection (variety) is poor. I expect a minimum of 12 or more minifigures from a set of this size / price. Clearly LEGO is counting on fans to buy the collectible Disney minifigures series 1 and likely a 2017 series 2, to compensate for what was oddly omitted from this set: namely Goofy & Pluto...come to mind.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definitely buying this, but I'll be waiting for a better promo (Double VIP points!!).

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

^ Just so you know, with your price rant: It's more expensive in Denmark, where it costs 2.999 Danish kroner, the equivalent of NZ$ 629.79... (whereas it's basically a steal here in Norway, at NZ$ 587.83)

Not saying it's not expensive in New Zealand. But it's more expensive in the country where the bricks are produced ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have $120 in VIP points that I think will be going toward this...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Block-n-Roll do not forget that in the U.S. sales tax is added to the price when purchased. So depending on where you live in the U.S. you can pay anywhere form 0% to what I have to pay of 10% or in some places even more.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I don't know. I think it looks great. Although I don't normally complain about stickers it seems to me from some folks that they may be difficult to place in order to look great! In fact I often don't even place stickers on some sets as it doesn't really bother me to leave them off and I save them in case I do decided to use them or pass the set on to someone else. I don't think this set would look so good without the stickers though.

In the end I think price and size are both an issue. Only so much space for all the large sets. Look forward to the review and will perhaps decide from there. Holding off for now.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks cool, but at this price you know they will still be available when double points go live in October and/or they have better purchase premium during the holiday sales.

But THEY COULD HAVE made this an awesome buy-early purchase if they had managed their premiums right, such as an exclusive Disney minifig.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well folks this IS just the VIP pre sale. Maybe when it goes on sale to public it will have a better incentive to buy before 2x points comes in October.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think they're banking on both the fact that hardcore Lego fans have been conditioned to spend more on the real 5-star sets (what's the Sandcrawler, £249.99 or something?), and the fact that Disney has many collectors who are used to spending big money.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Another must-buy that will have to wait for a 2x VIP sale. I felt a bit burned by Lego's recent out-of-nowhere 2x VIP sale in the US during the London bus promo period, so I'll play this one absolutely safe. I understand that buying a set early comes with the risk of missing out on potential promos, but you'd think Lego would want to reward its VIP customers by announcing those sudden 2x VIP sales ahead of time since they're going to be getting our money anyway.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

My daughter and I are promoting this as the family Christmas present this year.......the wife doesn't know this yet

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not gonna get it. I don't like the big pieces in it. Want to see more bricks like the mod that someone made. It's big enough just don't like the walls already made. It could have been bricks instead.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wish I had the patience and discipline to wait for double points, but I also have a brother with whom I can share the cost of such an expensive set. I'm not a big Disney fan at all and when a castle is 29" tall, I couldn't care less which minifigs come with it. After spending the past year and a half regretting the fact that we didn't get back into LEGO just a few years earlier (for the Town Hall, Green Grocer, etc.), there was NO WAY we were going to risk missing out on this set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Guess I screwed myself. I ordered, and threw in my whopping $10 off in VIP Points. It's a must have for me, as I love Disney (particularly the Magic Kingdom), and Legos. Oh well. 339 more VIP points for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's really easy to get the instructions and the bricks. I missed out on green grocer, cafe corner, and market street. I got the inventory list, instructions and bought the bricks myself and have all three, just not the boxes. It was way cheaper too. Takes time but was worth and I'm super happy!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ordered!
My moniker isn't Disneylegolands for nothing ;)

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Any way how to order from Lego and not to get the awful police promo? :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm holding off hope that it is sold inside Disneyland so I can use my 20% pass discount. Otherwise I'll just pick it up in October.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So excited for this set. Ordered first thing this morning and will be making a time lapse of the build can't wait.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@chelle2nines, I've done that with a few sets, but even for expensive sets, buying bricks individually over time can get quite expensive if you aren't careful. Even for out-of-reach-sets, buying sets brick by brick can often add up to the price of a full set. You just have to watch what you're doing :)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

With regard to the high price, it's worth noting that sets this size tend to be available for at least two and a half years (as opposed to regular retail sets which are usually retired one to one and a half years after their launch). Throw in the lead time from announcement to release and people who want one of these high-dollar sets have a substantial amount of time to save up for them. And that's assuming it doesn't stick around for over half a decade like the previous Death Star set did!

As spendy as AFOLs can be sometimes, I guarantee you LEGO doesn't design any set this big expecting typical customers to pick it up on impulse. :)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I'm so happy that I don't like it!
However, side effect is that the more I look at this set, the more I like (and want) Ghostbusters HQ.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like my local LEGO Store was out by the time I got off work. I'll probably wait until the holiday GWP to get mine though. It's a great set, but I am in no hurry to build it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nice set, however I wish the back was "closed" like a modular building and the possibility to be opened like Simpson, GhostbustersHQ, etc. I feel like the set is not complete. Anyone else feeling the same?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like it, but it is so big and still cost $350, plus no one else in my house wants it, and I'm not building it, lol. I'll look forward to seeing it built and on display in a Lego Store some day and that should satisfy me.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I realize I am probably in the minority with this opinion, but honestly, I don't like this set. The front is full of monstrously large single pieces, the tower build doesn't look at that interesting, and all the fun details are in the back, so once this huge thing is built, and has to be displayed somewhere, if you show the castle side to the viewer, all the fun stuff at the back is not visible. I'll save the money for the next two Cafe Corner series buildings or the Christmas sets.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

@Huw: If they do a Death Star washing machine, I am in! Otherwise I feel tempted by the Disney Castle. Is it the Dark Side calling to me or am I just a little princess...?

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

@budterence: I do agree with you :) The opened back might be necessary for saving costs (it would probably be almost double in price perhaps), but I does hold me back from getting this one!

Unlike Ghostbuster HQ or the modular, you can view them 360° and I would all be making sense (ok the GB HQ has on ugly side but I can live with it)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@monkyby87 I already had an enormous set of bricks but I brick linked the Taj Mahal and the Eiffel Tower. The Taj was 175 for me to put together vs 1700 and I had all bricks for the Eiffel Tower already except for 100 fences which I bought off of brick owl. It is really worth it. So I have all the modulars and recent expert mods. If you friend me on Facebook at Michelle Christine Whitley I have a video of everything in my city. @gylman I agree with you on that. I don't like the huge pieces and wish the back was closed. I did love the Big Ben and bought two more sets to extend the building longer. I love the mod that someone built though. I may tackle this myself.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Right now loving the fact i'm sitting on $250 worth of VIP points and trying to work out how to spend them...want the castle, want the new Architecture sets about to come out, want the Big Ben...damn...such a greedy b @sta@rd!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@chelle2nines, that's great! I'm just cautious about doing that with some sets. I know several people try to do that with the big Millennium Falcon and the Green Grocer, and they quickly run into costs skyrocketing. But it sounds like you made it work quite well :) I have done it with success though on several of the pirate ships.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was at my local store early before normal opening time and was glad I did. The store only had 20 sets on hand and they were all sold within 30 minutes. They said that the Disney Castle will be very limited run

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If I had the money, it'd be worth going and scalping two of these out of my local store right now.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@rust6245 The local Lego Store manager alluded to this as well. Nothing firm but with reference to well we don't know how long the agreement with Disney will be to sell the castle. Seemed strange as one would think TLG and Disney are so popular one would think it would have a long healthy run.

Our store here also expected to sell out by the weekend. Forget the exact number shipped to them but around the same number others are stating and they had sold over half on release date.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was absolutely blown away when I checked my email yesterday to see this on offer. It's just stunning!

I don't know if I'll ever buy it, but I think it's awesome that LEGO continues to build incredible sets like this. And wow! Over 4,000 pieces for $350? That's a lot of SPACE parts for a decent price!

Gravatar
By in United States,

In general I like the idea of this but a) the price point, even with this number of pieces, is high. And b) I really don't think it looks that fantastic. I absolutely hate the stickered bricks look and really wish this would/could have been done as a brick build.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@chelle2nines is it easy to do something like that, or does it take a lot of time and effort? I would love to have the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer (and the Taj Mahal, but not as much as the others) and feel stupid for missing out on them. But if it's possible to get them somehow without paying the ridiculous prices on eBay, I'd be really happy. On the other hand if it takes a huge amount of time and effort, than maybe I couldn't be bothered by that.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Though originally this would sell well.
But given even just the early disappointment with the very expensive 75159, I am sure this will sell even better as some of those holding out for the Death Star will be buying this beautiful set.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Ok, yesterday I failed to resist. I ordered this lovely castle and full set of Disney Minifigs up to that to enrich the castle...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Huw, I just ordered this set and received an email stating that it is currently out of stock!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yep, was in the UK MK store today, and walked out with this! Now I need to make even more space to display it!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hope that Lego online shop.lego.com will have stock by sept 1st right?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Temporarily OOS for VIPs in the US

Gravatar
By in United States,

Doh! Finally decided to pull the trigger yesteday but saw it was of stock. Today it now shows at the US Lego Shop:

"We have now sold out of our VIP Early Access quantities on this set. Please check back on 9/1/2016."

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lego Store MK UK Out of Stock, but 2 left at Lego Store Watford (after I bought mine today)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Live for purchase in European shop.lego.com sites. Should be live in the US at the stroke of midnight. (using a VPN so actually living in the US here)

Too bad there's not double points promotion for this now.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I check on shop.lego.early morning and show still out of stock status cause wanted to order one today

Gravatar
By in United States,

Disney Castle available at shop.lego US around 8:30 am Central Time

Gravatar
By in United States,

wow - Went out of stock in a couple of hours after it was available in US. I did place my order, keeping my fingers crossed it will ship.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I called LEGO on Sept 1 to inquire about the status of the set. I checked three times on Sept 1 and it was never available in the store, despite the posts on the social media about it being available! The person I spoke to said they would have a date up soon when it would be available. Well, 10 days later and still no date. What happened here? Did they underproduce? Was it more popular than expected? The more time that goes by, the less I want it. As a former cast member, this set was a must for me, but $370 (with tax) was a little steep. Anyone have inside info on when this might be available again?
