New shop.LEGO.com launched

Posted by ,

You may remember that an updated LEGO.com website was launched in Switzerland a couple of months ago. The new design has now been rolled out worldwide but it waits to be seen whether this will resolve any of the functional issues which plagued the old site.

A promotion is being run to celebrate the launch of the new website and you can find out more about that after the break. You can also watch a video which explains some of the new and improved features...

A discount code is available in selected European countries to celebrate the launch of the new website. I expect other countries will run a similar promotion very soon. Please let us know if you come across any other codes.

By in Germany,

A very interesting site!
Finally a new one. The old one was very outdated.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ sure, but if it just a re-skin, then they haven't solved the underlying performance and scalability issues.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Norway - NO90

Gravatar
By in Poland,

In Poland - 40 PLN (equivalent to about 10€). Code: PL40 (for purchases of 160 PLN or more)
But this new site works rather slow.

Edit: and there is unexpected error when I'm trying to put something to my cart. Well done, LEGO!

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I preferred a hundredfold the old site. This is very cumbersome, slow and full of bugs! I hope to resolve as soon as all these problems.
On tablet (S.O. Apple) and smartphone (Windows S.O.) it is unusable!
At least "10 EUR Coupon" works properly in Italy!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It doesn't work on my android phone. Tried to place an order, abd if I could get a pop up screen to open it would disappear before I could make my next choice.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Try to find 40203. There is no chance if you don't know the number.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

I liked the old site more. Also the new Rogue one sets are listed, and they're even more expensive than sets are normally in Finland. AT-ST is 65€, TIE striker is 85€ and Rebel U-wing is 100€!! I was going to buy them with the expensive prices that are in here normally, but these are way too expensive. Especially the U-wing.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Can't say I like the new site, but it should work better on mobile devices. Some parts, like the info about physical stores (incorrect and poorly maintained), are still the old design. Pick-a-brick: looks like a new stylesheet smacked onto the same antiquated system. Bricks-and-pieces: can't even find it. Is it gone?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well I was going to say for the first time since May i could buy something and get VIP points and the free item AND free delivery but no.... free item disappeared, discount code fails and I cant use VIP points........ nice try Lego ill be back IF you fix it.......

Gravatar
By in United States,

If I expressed how I really feel I'd probably be banned for swearing.

But the what is that mess? It's very childish, like a game on a tablet. It's not good, it's not user friendly. Whatever happen to the best seller section?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Total fail, the "Architecture" page doesn't include the two newest sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Biggest issue- site takes up more space to show equivalent amount of information. WHY PEOPLE WHY!? Want to find sales? Must click on menu then click again. More space and more clicks. Two thumbs down.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

First shock this morning: favourite newspaper site changed their layout for the worse and now LEGO does the same... I hate changes. :-/

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm seem to be on my own, but I think it's fine. Works great on iPhone, looks good and zero issues with checking out or addition of free items. Each to his own I guess.

More to the point, how long does the £10 off offer last? Until Force Friday hopefully!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think that is the issue. LEGO cared more about people who buy things on their phone than on a computer. But it's still a failure because it takes more clicks than before to find what you want.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For info and to give them a bit of credit it sort of works..... as you add to bag you get the free item (if logged in as a vip) it then disappears when you edit/checkout..... the £10 discount seems to display on Edge but not chrome...... but then the total is full price..... inc 3.95 delivery (even if you select free delivery it then moans about technical problems as you checkout) Still shows max price..... when you get to the payment section.... discount and postage have been adjusted AND you can use VIP points too...... so ive saved £10 off a Beetle but missed out on the freebie... which i have and i am hoping someone in packing may throw it in........... Site it may be ok in a few weeks......

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can't find any discount code for USA which makes me sad, but they have a new promo for a free "ultimate lavario"

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Looks good but I hope they fix the traffic issues when new desirable sets come out.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can't find the seasonal sets (a.k.a. Christmas).

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Looks like Walmart. Not too fluid either. Don't like it.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Living in Switzerland and having experience with the new site since conception - all I can say is what a load of shite, since day one.
And it hasn't gotten better.
An absolute ramshackle of a mess.
I don't mind having to deal with the different layout/navigation - those changes just take time to adapt to - but the amount of continual errors, problems with updated user account information, finding seasonal sets blah blah blah, just really unprofessional and embarrassing for a company of their standing and financial liquidity.
Shame on you LEGO!
Hire the correct people and get the job done.
What a joke!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm viewing this on a desktop. I'm sorry, but almost everything about this redesign is awful. The color palette is mismatched. Browsing for sets is now worse than it was. The 'Discover' menu has one option....'Retired Products'....WHY? The filtering on the left side is completely unnecessary. The thumbnail view when browsing sets is poorly executed. Viewing a set details page is the worst part in my opinion. Everything on the page is so large with tons of white space. I haven't tried to order anything yet, mainly because I try to avoid buying through LEGO.com anyway, but this update is pushing me away even more. A main part of my job is web design and I would be embarrassed to publish this. Really poor effort on the part of TLG.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like they hired on "world-class" BrickLink development team. What a complete mess.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The new site on an iPhone 6+, using Safari, is actually a lot better than the old site. I agree with a previous comment in that it appears they redesigned the site for the sake of mobile phone users.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Broken. Bad performance. And above all:

W H I T E S P A C E

Cramp in my fingers from all the scrolling!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Official Lego shop guarantee: "missing pieces "

Now that is certainly novel. Sure hope they mean re-ship
Now to test if Wish List works again on tablet. Or at all.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

New site killed my Firefox off - two times in a row. Plus long loading times (if something shows up). I am not happy.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

their categories are a tad tits up. Buckingham Palace doesnt appear under architecture...

and brickabrick individual search facility is crapola......

good job i like browsing :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Sorry to bang on but I do have a confirmation email which includes the freebie..... so the back end works but its not talking to the customer facing front end. Is it me or did I see a Kylo Ren keylight the other day and a first order trooper which now seems to the Darth Vader and Stormtrooper ?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nope. No, no, no, no. No. This didn't seriously happen, did it? Ugh... what an ugly, laggy, cartoony, huge, oversized, laggy, broken, messy, chunky, laggy, slow, cumbersome, laggy, poorly optimized pile of overly colourful and laggy trash... that LAGS. To call the design poor would be a compliment, this requires far too much scrolling because it's disgustingly oversized to the point where it was never even funny. Lego do realise that computer screens are horizontal by default, right? Press CTRL + ALT + left before going on to this site, OK? You'll thank me later. At least they cleared up the licensing text at the bottom of the page. What a mess.

Oh, and did I mention that it lags?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ugh! I wish I'd known last week before I made my order. I was not planning on getting anything else until December. Is the code account linked or can it be used as many time as you like?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm not a fan of how the categories are laid out. Where is the "Seasonal" section?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just watched the video....not been on the store yet, but will get to that later. For now, I just want Lego to release the mini-fig Lego bag the animated figure in the video has!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Erk, still as bad as it was before. Also, BE10 is applying but I'm not getting a discount from it.

Sets > Minifigures brings me to an empty Sets > Themes page. Bricks > Bricks - New brings me to an empty BRICKS page. I guess production is the best test environment?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Thanks for the heads up, I've used your link to finally get my Fairground Mixer !

Gravatar
By in United States,

So...no discounts here in the States?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The website (in German) tells me the coupon code is just SHOP, not DE10.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

UK - Just notice in my account section the promotions option. Mine is showing double VIP points on 70593 and 70594, curious to know if others see the same promotions!

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

The New Zealand offer has been rolled out. They've doubled their price-gouging mark-up to 20%.

*waits to see if joke becomes prophecy*

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Where are all the promotions listed? All I can see is Double VIP points under VIP account, but I don't see what free gifts are being given right now....

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I said it when I commented on the first test in Switzerland and I still stand by my opinion: I hate the new layout, especially all the wasted space and the feeling that it was optimized solely for mobile devices. Hey, TLG, a lot of us still prefer to order via a desktop pc or notebook, not a mobile device. No need to alienate the old-school customers. There are designs that adapt to both kinds of devices you know?

Thankfully, at least the functions seem to work. I got my discount, I got the bonus article, and my VIP account didn't seem to miss anything.
But the general funtionality still needs a lot of improvement. Explore? Just the old sets? WTF? New articles seemingly missing. Empty pages, etc. etc.
Really bad redesign, TLG. And I do know a thing or two about the subject matter, I used to be the webmaster at my former company for many years after all.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ormskirkBricks........ Yes those are in mine too.... although i would NEVER have found them if you hadn't have pointed where the "promotions" section was.... Page 1 is the general rule.... its a promotion promote it............

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

I don't like the new site. It's ugly, it's slow, I can't find a lot of features the old site had, hard to pick bricks from PickaBrick (you have to roll down for the quantities, you can not enter the number), the promotions are hidden somewhere (there's no direct links to them, nor can I find "sales and deals", etc., etc., etc....
I want the old site back!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really mixed thoughts about the site so far... Some of it is nice, but certain things such as pick-a-brick could use improvements.

Actually, I've noticed the new pick-a-brick now has 360 degree rotatable images of parts, any plans of trying to add that sort of functionality to Brickset's part database where available from TLG?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! Mostly negative comments. Huw, did you get as much unfavorable remarks as when you changed your Brickset site layout not too long ago? I recalled there were a few hiccups in the beginning, but it all works out beautifully now. Folks, give LEGO a chance. Wait a bit, OK?

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

^ They've had months to fix issues, sollicited comments all over the place and created a feedback form, yet they still forged ahead. I don't see a lot of changes compared to the Swiss test-launch, though it seems they did at least clean up the top banners so a lot less screen real estate is lost. However, it's hardly fair to compare the UK-local small Brickset Ltd to giant billion euro company Lego.

I've seen a few nice things, and it'll obviously work better on mobile devices, but there's a lot to be desired that was better on the old site...

Gravatar
By in United States,

There is "We don't like change" people, myself included, and 'this is just garbage design' people.

It's garbage. I still think Brickiest has too much white for suck a colorful toy. However LEGO is the biggest toy maker in the world and has a history of having barely functioning websites for the last 10 years. They finally fix the now 'old' design to give us something flashy and only decent on a phone, while they took away our options.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The video just highlights features they already had. The only thing they changed was the filters, which is now less customizable. The look is different, but everything takes up too much space. I don't think "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" works here. It should be "If it is broke, don't paint over it to make it look fixed" poor job, LEGO

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Anyone else use Firefox? I found out what's causing the significant lag when scrolling. It's some of the SVG images. For no good reason, someone has embedded a bunch of transparent PNG images inside of these SVGs. The PNGs are used for the shadows behind studs, but there are FAR better ways of creating these shadows... either using a radial gradient, or possibly even an SVG gaussian blur filter.

I reported the issue, but have no idea if they'll bother to fix it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It took them like 3-4 years to fix the issues of the site never working, so I wouldn't count on it.

I tried using Pick-a-Brick. The old site wasn't the best, but damn if I can't find anything I'm looking for anymore. It's really depressing just how bad it is.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As Woodrow Wilson said, "want to make enemies, try to change something" :)

Obviously the site is different, but give it 3-4 months and we will all forget what the old one looked like. With these thing, who really cares in the overall scope of things.

Gravatar
By in Japan,

Sadly, this still excludes my region (Japan)

So it is as useless in every way as the old one was.

Why LEGO? Why?

Gravatar
By in United States,

So much clicking and scrolling to get anywhere... Also, a question; what do those little gray hearts next to each item suppose to do? I click on them and nothing happens. Tried both IE and Firefox. Does anyone know?

Also, I noticed that the Wishlist feature no longer works. My previous Wishlist got completely wiped out, and it is not possible to add new items to it, or transfer items from the shopping cart to the Wishlist. Sad, because I had a number of items there that I was saving up for the Double VIP Points period...

I also got "Sorry and unexpected error has occurred" on practically every page I go to, or everything I try to click on. I hope they fix this soon!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

My Wishlist transferred over, but my Pick a Brick from yesterday got wiped.
Also mucking about with an order and the new cart system, no VIP points on Pick a Brick and they are adding VAT to an Australian order, thats new.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I've used the site more now and my distaste is growing. Organization is poor, doesn't work on Firefox, almost only whitespace on pages, extreme difficulty because of lag when clicking links.

How can it be that so big companies create such amateurish websites? This is even worse than before.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Haven't fully explored the new site, but the Pick a Brick browsing is now pretty awful.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I'm so sick of this trend of making everything look like a mobile site. I'm using a PC, I dont need your dumbed down, poorly scaled interface! Save that crap for a separate mobile site! Everything is so oversized and clunky, the amount of information that fits on my monitor has been drastically reduced. I can now only see six sets at a time! And of course it just generally looks hideous.

At least in Australia, it shows you how much of the total price is VAT, which is... interesting, if a little unnecessary. I do wonder whether that was Lego's decision though.

Oh, the shipping and handling page doesn't work. They launched the site before it was finished... How incompetent can you get!?

Gravatar
By in Poland,

No VIP points were granted at all for a Pick a Brick part of my order on the new website. Also can't access orders history, only VIP points history. Order status link from email for current order leads to error 404 page.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

@thebrickblogger - the grey hearts are turned red if something is in my wishlist. It seems to remember my wishlist from before and then the hearts turn red.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If I log into my VIP account, every page I visit after this continually pops the virtual keyboard on screen when browsing on my iPad. Very annoying.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The new website just went online so I guess (hope!) some of the problems are just initial hiccups and that things will improve. But they definitely have to improve - considerably so.
The new design is so... "loud" - too colourful, confusing. Takes longer to load, too. Login worked, wishlist is there, but I can't see my order history, just VIP Point history. Can't find the current promo announcements. Where is the "seasonal" category? It's one of the most important for me. And the mysterious and always empty "online only" category that we saw before doesn't show up at all.
I always have a problem with change, and I know that some things just need a while until you get used to it eventually. I hope it will happen soon for me with this website because right now I really don't like it.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I like the new site - think it looks great. Miss the best sellers - hoping that bring that back.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Can anyone use the Pick a Brick.....I just keep getting !!!No search results. Please revise your search.!!! when searching a type of brick?????????????

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I've just ordered the Beetle - everything seems absolutely fine now, promotional code PL40 and usage of VIP points worked well, however some errors were popping up while creating the order. So - good result, but the process could be better! And I have to say that the design of the old site seems a bit outdated for me now, compared to the new one.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

The promo is great! The site is not bad but takes some getting used to... It's better for finding stuff that isn't a set (bricks, keychains, etc...). It's sharper-looking. All-in-all, I think it's not bad at all.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

19th of September include ?

Gravatar
By in Poland,

The new website looks better than the last version however it has a lot of white-space which im not a huge fan of. The promo code worked well, however it messed up the free delivery a bit. Needed to add a bit more than required for it to work. Hope they will fix all the bugs before 30th.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Same purchase and experience as jasiek: bought the 10252 Beetle, process wasn't smooth but it did in the end accept the promo-code (DE10) and let me use VIP-points.

But yes, the site is slow and doesn't feel finished nor 'solid'. I too find it amazing that a huge company like LEGO apparently isn't (yet) able to build a (or multiple) site(s) that allow for pleasant use on different screens and browsers.

PS: I'm Dutch but luckily have German colleagues that I can let LEGO send my order to: 10252 is €15 (!) more expensive on the Dutch LEGO site...

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO has to fu**ing understand that the 3 year old kid this site design is made for, isn't actually using the site to buy LEGOs.
I like changings but this website is rubbish. Why do I have to click 7 times to find the freebie details while before I only had to click once?? Where the heck is gone the best sellers section, why there are empty sections, why the theme pages doesn't show the newest products, why there's a RETIRED SECTION? I mean, do you remember is the LEGO SHOP where I should buy Legos, if it's retired I cannot buy it, and I don't careeeee!
Why in the themes pages there are discontinued themes (lord of the rings, LEGO movie...)
Why I can't use my VIP points
Why my VIP details are shown like I'm 1 year old
Why my VIP details are messy and it's complicated to see my VIP details
Why my freebie doesn't appear in the CART
Why I can't pay you when I use the LEGO shop from my phone
Why it takes tons of time to open the LEGO shop
Why on chrome the discount code doesn't work
Why is the site oversized, and I mean 4 HOT TOPIC SECTIONS instead of one with all in it
Why is it difficult to find sets now
Why is it laggy? And buggy
Why the pick a brick is worst than before (and you got to reaallyy put effort in it to make it worst than before)
Why you didn't included bricks & pieces in the website , and I still have to go to the assistance website
Why the hell you didn't paied some professional graphic designer, cause your 4 year old kid can't make a website for a company like LEGO
Now, should I continue?

LEGO should be ashamed and restore the old site while they make a new one that is better.
And also should giveaway some LEGOs to US, the fans of it in order to apologise for this s**t of website.
And I'm done.

Oohh, and why you make me pay the shipping while I should have it for freeeee?

Gravatar
By in United States,

^...Well that's a bit harsh.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

I think mattuzbricker has a lot of good points. I've only spent a bit of time on the new website but I have to agree that it seems unfinished, laggy, buggy and overall cumbersome to use. There is a lot less content per screen now and it seems like such a waste. I'm totally on board with a tablet/mobile optimized site but I don't need all that oversized content on the desktop. What also bugs me is that under My Account I can only see my VIP Points but not the actual monetary value, for that I have to actually go into my account details. After they ran a beta in Switzerland I would have expected the site to perform and look better.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

started making order using GB10 discount code and it wasn't working correctly, so came back later the same evening and placed an order for £41 of Lego Technic pieces and £25 of BrickNPieces to quality for the £40 discount level and the £50 free postage level. Had my order cancelled because the website thinks I've already used the code! Struggling with Customer Service to get it reinstated but they aren't playing ball.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It really looks like LEGO made the site for 5 year olds, which is insane because they can't actually buy anything.

This really isn't "We will forget about it in a few months". My sister couldn't buy me a present online last year because the old site ran so poorly. Now they take a whole homepage and stick up like 3 things of info, what a waste of space.

Has anyone found top sellers? Does LEGO not want to share that info anymore?

And interestingly, LEGO had a few OLD Christmas stuff on sale for 75% off, nope. As soon as the site changed the price went back up and a few sold out things that were gone came back.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

@3BrickFriends The conditions state that you can't use the code with PaB or BaP. What even worse though is that if you but a set satisfying the limit and then add some BaP, they still cancelled it for me. Hopefully will be able to fix this with Customer Service.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@fred157 thats what the customer service said to me. I did the same as you, added some BricksNPieces to a £40 order in the normal store. I didn't want £40 worth of stuff in the online store but wanted to take advantage of the discount. I wanted a 2nd set of Elves baby dragons for my 2nd daughter without buying all the sets twice! BricksNPieces is a great solution but Lego run it like its not owned by them... no points, no discounts, poor customer service.

I hate when big business dig their heals in over such as stupid small-print issue. I think i might just keep emailing them about it and filling out negative surveys just to waste some of their time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Glad I'm not alone in my opinion that the new design is terrible. Can't seem to find anything. It seems like a company the size of Lego could get their website right. I went looking for my old want list and it was gone...I had to create a new one (which is hopefully still there).

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

As I am in Switzerland I could surf for quite a few weeks on the new site and I must say that there are lots of bugs and non-working links.
Moreover, my yesterday's order was cancelled !!! I used the discount code found here on Brickset, it was applied on my order but I've received an email telling me that my order had been cancelled because I had used the promo code twice (wrong! I did not). I called Lego and they told me that it was because I ordered "Bricks & pieces" and that the promo is not intended for such items. Although I ordered enough of standard Lego sets in value to used the code, I was told to re-enter my order in two times, pieces and sets separately. The result would be double shipment fees rather that free shipment, meaning that my promo code becomes totally useless… Thanks for this wonderful welcome-to-our-new-site gift. ?

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

@fred157 and 3BrickFriends :
Bricks'n'Pieces selection was always different for any other products on LEGO's webshop. Earlier it was a completely different process to buy B&P parts. Now at least it is integrated into the general shopping process, however you don't get VIP point on B&P purchase, and it doesn't count into the amount you get freebies after.
My big problem with the new site, that I don't get VIP points after the Pick a Brick purchase either, but I hope it is a bug in the system

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Whatever all the issues are, the new site is CRAP,
I don't mean that in terms of design or looks, but nothing really works the way it should.
I can deal with changes and adapt, no problem.
But the functionality is CRAP.
I am an AFOL for 16 years, have over 70K SFr in Lego at home, and this just sucks the big one.
I am 46 years old, and do not waste my time in complaining on online media about things.
But this is just TOO EFFING MUCH, the new site just sucks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just ordered a couple of advent calendars and some base plates - got £10 discount with code, free shipping and free Ninjago dragon thing all added automatically and all worked fine.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

@Yellow I understand that it doesn't cound towards freebies, but the way this worked is that if I didn't put the BaP in, it was fine and if I did add on top of what was fine, suddenly it wasn't eligible - how does that make sense?

@baabswed I was hoping it was a misunderstanding, but since they actually told you to make two orders (which is nonsense), it is official I guess. I just can't believe they would really screw us over so badly.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The prices on the Pick a Brick online seem to have been changed. Leaf pieces are about half the price they used to be.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Guys where are the freebies listed, I just cant find it...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wish they would make two websites; one for mobile and one for PC's and laptops (which people still use, LEGO!) Also the site removes functionality for some older browsers which kinda sucks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I didn't have any problems with the new site and ordered a VW Beetle with £10 off using the discount code with a free Ninjago polybag, free shipping and VIP points. Happy :-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Fred157 @baabswed I've been emailing with customer services and complaining about the cancellation of my order because it included BnP items. After 3 emails I said how poor I felt their recent service has been for me (since last order I placed had missing pieces). They are now sending me the BnP order for free. Other items are still cancelled but I can redo the order for them. Really nice conclusion when normally complaints come to nothing with large corporations. Restored my faith in their 'world class customer service' reputation. Nice one Lego.

3/5 star rating. Only hitch was you had to go back to home to switch from retired to other themes. I don't know how it works for anything other than iPhone. Also, how do you write news and commentary on ideas and stuff??

Just checked out the new format for the first time and I didn't like it. Too much space/scrolling! It's messy and isn't simple like I think it should be. I wish they could let you switch to the "old" look.

Ugly, doesn't load properly, plain outright, über epic fail, time for a rollback... Try again Lego.

I honestly can't see any advantages to the new site--looks like I'll be relying on Brickset more than ever to decide what I want to buy next. Lost my list of "saved for later" sets, which is very annoying. Can't find the seasonal sets unless I search by set number; can't find the bonus monthly build at all. Did manage to place an order, and the freebie added itself to the basket properly, so the site does its job, but I'm certainly getting no pleasure out of it. Not fun to browse at all.

Pick a brick is 141 pages of 10 parts! The old site let you display it as 3 or 4 pages of 500, so you could fairly quickly find parts. Now it takes AGES, as you have load each page of 10 in turn. Hopeless. It is really slow once you have a few parts selected (as was the old site). In general the site has too much whitespace which forces you to scroll a lot.

None of my old bookmarks to the homepage work. Surely this is on their release checklist to redirect old common bookmarks to the homepage or the new equivalent page. It always feels like Lego IT department needs a bomb under it. It is common for websites to link to beta sites and act on user feedback before switching. Autosport.com did this for months and massively changed their beta during that time (thankfully). Their release appeared to go well when they finally switched.

I say exactly (well almost exactly) what @JapanBuilder said:

Sadly, this still excludes my region (South Africa)

So it is as useless in every way as the old one was.

Come on Jorgen. If you're reading this, throw some love this way xoxoxox

If the Lego Group is reading this I will ask them: what is going on with the fact that we can't seem to add items to our wish lists?

By in United States,

While I can navigate the site now with less error messages, the Wish List feature still doesn't work. My Wish List was wiped out during the update, and I can't add anything to it either by clicking on the heart next to each item, or the blue button on the individual item page and the shopping cart. The buttons simply do nothing. This is both on IE and Firefox.

However I have discovered that if I log out of my account, I can click on the buttons and the item will be added on my Wish List. I log back in, and the item is still there. But to add anything else, I have to log back out again.

There are still significant delays on loading those big banners, and the Pick-A-Brick section is horrible. There are almost a hundred categories to scroll through, and the Apply button is at the very bottom. So you have to scroll up and down through this crazy long list to add each item, then back up again to see the results, then back down again to add the next item. Does LEGO wants us to loose our sanity?

For the new site looks alright on the surface. However I noticed how they load all the retired sets when I went to view all for Star Wars theme. If one clicks on low to high prices, it then shows all the retired sets first. (which was about 7 pages) I would say that overall its not the appearance but the structure/organisation that is at issue. As someone highlighted, I could not find seasonal sets at all. I also had a purchase order ready, that included Bricks and Pieces, Pick a Brick and a set however the Pick a Brick portion of the order is now gone.

The Brick and Pieces and Building instructions portion of the website are well structured and work really well. I really liked the upgrades they did months ago. I wouldn't touch those portions of the website in light of the other changes that have been made.

I don't know if anyone else of having this problem, but on mobile there is no add to cart button from what I can see. Only a add to wish list button which does not work.

To complete the loop for me.... I have just received my order, which was impressive as it was free delivery and I only ordered 6th Sept about 7pm. Not only did i get the free Ninjago as promised and I'm not sure if this is on every order but I got anextra polybag (which I needed) with a Thankyou card.
So in summary website dreadful and not very confidence inspiring but if you risk it the order system is great.........
