LEGO Harry Potter Collection announced

This is unfortunately not a new line of sets, in case you were confused by the title; it's just as cool though (not really):
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Announces the LEGO Harry Potter Collection for PlayStation4
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games today announced the LEGO Harry Potter Collection, bringing LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 to the PlayStation4 computer entertainment system for the first time with both top-selling videogames remastered on one disc.
Launching on October 18 in North America and October 21, 2016 in Europe, this compilation unites the creative prowess of LEGO and the expansive world of Harry Potter, with an exciting journey full of spell-casting, potion-making, puzzle-solving, lessons, dueling and much more for players young and old to enjoy. Gamers can experience the entire LEGO Harry Potter adventure featuring content from seven books and eight films, with enhanced graphics, environments, lighting and visual effects, along with two downloadable content (DLC) packs. Sure to delight fans of J.K. Rowling’s ever-expanding Wizarding World, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection serves as a perfect gift for those eagerly anticipating the upcoming film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
· LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is based on the first four books and films—Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone , Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire —allowing fans to experience Harry’s first four years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in full LEGO form.
· LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 transports players through the final three books and final four films—Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows—to experience Harry’s last years at Hogwarts and his battle against Lord Voldemort in the ultimate fight between good and evil.
· Character Pack DLC included on disc featuring 10 characters—Godric Gryffindor, Harry (Yule Ball), Helga Hufflepuff, Lockhart (Straightjacket), Luna (Lion Head), Peeves, Hermione (Pink Dress), Ron Weasley (Ghoul), Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin.
· Spell Pack DLC included on disc featuring 5 spells—Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors and Tentaclifors.
Between this and Dimensions, LEGO video gamers will sure have a lot of fun exploring the Wizarding World this fall... and between this and Supergirl, methinks LEGO has favoritism towards PlayStation 4! I kid, I kid.

No, definitely not as cool.

No. Not it isn't.
Also, this line -
with enhanced graphics, environments, lighting and visual effects
means it's yet another rehash of old games that anyone who cares have probably played already.
The videogame industry is doing this far too often these days.
@woosterlegos @dougts What, I can't try to be optimistic?
Why do I get the feeling that this is simply Lego Harry Potter 1-4 and 5-7 combined into one pack? A few "enhanced graphics" does not warrant a re-release. First we had the 'enhanced' 10249 Winter Toy Shop, then the 'enhanced' 75159 Death Star. I hope this isn't a continuation of disappointing re-releases. Perhaps the software department could consider Lego Hobbit Battle of The Five Armies, something we would actually love to see.

Come on, Brickset, aren't you above clickbait??? Don't get my hopes up like that, fix the title.
TheBrickPal is either insane or a liar if they think it's as cool as sets! hahaha

I'm sorry it really isn't. For a minute there you almost had Me interested.
I don't know why everyone is falling for my sarcastic comment... I now have tweaked the article to avoid further 'attacks'. XP
I actually fell for that ??
Still,don't do that man
Wait, will there be a video game PLUS two additional minifigure packs? Then it actually sounds really good for those who missed the Harry Potter sets from 2009-2010!
^ Downloadable content for the game itself, not physical minifigures.
looks lame but at least the games are on next gen now
^^ Bummer.
@TheBrickPal
Sorry I probably just missed something but does that last bit mean that this is ps4 exclusive?
^ Yep...

Honestly it's the exact opposite.
Not interested on this games the first time and the same is true here.
Wow, what a tease. This should be considered click-bait!
We are Dimensions fans though, so we'll take it anyway.
I wish they would do the same for the Indiana Jones games which were by far my favourites!
Already got 100% on both games on ps3. Not going to do it again
Wait, seriously, it's only for PS4?! Double lame!
Cheeky Brickset
Well, the title's not wrong... technically.
Hopefully there'll be some new stuff included with the game, like with Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, but yeah, no problem with this. I'm glad the DLC characters are very non-essential as well. On another note, hopefully it'll come to other platforms as well. It's not like Lego to have a console exclusive.
^
Lego City Undercover...
I want it. The old graphics were bad. Any idea on a price?
Pre-order minifigure maybe? Ron isn't getting a Lego dimensions pack so this would be a good way to include him.
Too bad it's PS4 exclusive. :(
I think the reason it's only for the PS4 is because:
Wii U plays Wii discs
Xbox One plays some Xbox 360 discs (and this could become one of them)
PS4 plays PS4 discs
@BrickyMcBrick - Ah, yeah, forgot about that one... thanks for reminding me.
Something I just thought of, will the new version have actual speech? I assume it's been added, since it would feel out of place now to have "ah"s and "hm"s all over the place.
wow - title was 100% a tease... and then its only for PS4?? Hopes went from cloud 9 to absolutely 0 in about 15 seconds...
I got very excited by reading the title to the article, but then it was only a video game. Anyways thanks for the great article
Because JK Rowling wasn't already raking in the royalties...
Unless you really want to play an old game (or 2), why not just buy the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them story pack for Dimensions? (assuming you have it). I really enjoy the character overlap and funny quotes in Dimensions, I look forward to hearing if Gandalf or the Wicked Witch have anything to say when Eddie Redmayne appears on the pad.
Ps4 is the best.
Why isn't Ron getting a dimensions pack anyways?
This really is only going to be for PS4 and not for the XBox one? In any case I have the original games already, but will say they are neat, if a bit tedious at times.
That's a remaster I can't understand. It's not like playing it on PS4 you'd be "wooow, such graphics, such performance".
They should combine both games into one like they did with Lego SW: The Complete Saga, rather than just release both together. In fact, it would be even more appropriate here, given that whereas the Sw games were still both focused on different trilogies, the HP ones were clearly just separate because of the sheer amount of content. There isn't much closure between the two. Could they really not be bothered to combine them?

No need to kid around. It's plainly obvious by now, when you consider the PS4's had a number of exclusive DLC packs for other titles - I personally found limiting the Civil War and Ant-Man Packs for Marvel's Avengers pretty awful myself. They know dang well people were coming for MCU content first, and comic content second.
And as Ender37 said, a single title containing all of the content would've been a much better way to re-release the content of both games.
XBOX ONE too?????
Ron neglected anyone!?!?
