By in United States,

Last weekend at a Target store I saw the Jay and Lloyd costumes from Ninjago. The masks were cool.

Now that's creepy. Still at least the characters are more well known than Bionicle was (although the Bionicle costumes had better proportions). I was Toa Vakama Metru for Halloween in 2004 when I was a kid...

Whilst Halloween decor and party themes are still rooted in the occult it's totally acceptable to dress up however one likes. My family will be Pokemon characters this year.

By in Canada,

Anybody care to explain to me what's supposed to be so scary about these? It's a kid dressed as a minifigure. The only thing that feels especially "off" about it is the arms, and not in a creepy way, just that they feel a bit thinner and more noodley than they should. I've seen DIY LEGO costumes that were far less accurate, but that doesn't make them any more "creepy" than these.

Anyway, you can see the rest of the costumes here: http://www.disguise.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=LEGO

Thank you, Aanchir. I agree.

By in United States,

People think they look creepy due to the uncanny valley phenomenon, possibly.

Isn't this just a copy and pasted press release?

gcstranks, it seems many of Brickset's articles are getting to be copy-and-paste, but I'm pleased to see the source cited at the top.

Clay, Aaron, and Lance, but no Macy? At least there's a Nya costume for Ninjago, I suppose.

Ooft, Doctor Who flash-backs! Does anyone else remember the Ice Warriors?

Thankfully, I've already bought this year's costumes for the Organ Banks. Even if I hadn't, I doubt I'd be shelling out £30 (£53 if you want trousers too) for one of these items.

By in Sweden,

Creepy. The arms looks totally out of place, like something that would fit on an old-school robot.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Perhaps they should try making four-armed minifigure costumes instead

By in United States,

I think that humans should never try to portray Minifigures because we have different body proportions. These look very akward when compared to a real Minifigure, because the legs and body are too long and the arms are too thin and long. It just looks aweful.

My $0.02

My friend was ahead of the game. He was a homemade red 2 by 4 two years ago.

By in United States,

These seem pretty legitimate. Don't know how else they'd look, considering LEGO minifigures have very different proportions compared to an actual human being. They seem to be of relatively good quality too; not something you'd find at your typical Halloween or party store.

They should have made Axl for the tall kids.

These are cool but also kinda creepy, I like It.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My first impressions was that LEGO intentionally distorted a minifigure to look creepy. Same with my second and third impressions....
