ReBrick - Modular Buildings 10th anniversary contest announced
Posted by TheBrickPal,
If the two competitions we have recently begun are not up your alley, the folks over at LEGO ReBrick have some good news for you:
It’s time to expand your favorite modular building by adding your own room! Whether it’s a store, apartment, or even a bathroom, we want to see what you can add to your favorite modular!
The deadline is November 29, 2016 and the grand prize is all six of the most recent Modular Building sets. To find out more info and to submit your entry, click here.

Yes, I already have one floor of a building completed. Time to spruce up the interior details and make it look good. Time to take pictures and submit them!!! After I get out of college.
But weren't the first modulars from 2007? Will this contest actually end in 2017 or something?
^ Most likely yes; and this contest was made to celebrate the release of Assembly Square, which is 2017's Modular Building and one of the prizes. It's the tenth anniversary set.
Where's the Town Hall? That came out after the Pet Shop...
Great competition. I already have an idea, so let's start building! :D
^^ Good eye! I wonder...
^^^ Town Hall came out later, but it's a retired set already. If you keep looking, you'll realize the pattern is that only the modulars still available for purchase are shown in that photo.
Runs until November 29th, 2016, but results don't come out until December 2017? One of those has to be a typo.
So... Any rules or guidelines besides "build an extra room for a modular"? Size or piece stipulations? Nothing?
@CaptainRogers: If you look at the official rules, it says an interior room, 16 x 16 stud max.
Wow! I'm almost getting overwhelmed with all of these contests! I'm working on Brickset's Mixels and What's missing contests, having already entered the Jake and LSP contest in the magazine, and now this comes up!
Man, I really wish i could afford any of the modulars to join in with these competitions,
GL to any one taking part :)
Where do you Find the rules?
A. Can we use non-Lego premium pieces? Brickarms, Citizen Brick, etc.
B. Does it have to be the 6 modulars shown, or could it be on older modular like Fire Brigade or Grand Emporium?
^ We can't properly answer those questions for you, unfortunately. It's not our competition.
As for the second, though, the best answer I can give you is that you can base it off of any modular, I believe.
@Casper_van_hobbes: There are multiple tabs on that page that don't show up on mobile, unfortunately. You can see them on the desktop site.
@thedent42 I haven't read the rules but saw one blog post say you don't have to own any of the modulars, you just have to build the room. Check out the site. It already has entries and the full set of rules.
Wow what a prize!
Wow...I was wanting to enter the Star Wars contest and then after assessing what I have got I was bummed because I had a cool idea but I just do not have the brick inventory yet (or frankly the skill sets/know-how). And this? No WAY! :) But hey...something to watch, learn from and wait until another opportunity comes around and I AM ready to dive in.
Good luck to all of you who enter! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
