A new year, a new LEGO movie and promotions

Posted by ,

Welcome to 2017, and to my first article of the year!

If you look around, you'll easily be able to find plenty of new sets for sale in shops around the world and online. But if you're anything like me, you'll also want to search out the hard-to-find polybags and promotional items that you cannot buy - especially when it comes to exclusive merchandise for the upcoming film The LEGO Batman Movie. Fortunately, here's a piece of news for those of you in North America! See what that could be after the break...

According to The Brick Fan: starting January 2nd (which is today, or yesterday depending on your time zone) and until February 26th, head over to your local LEGO Brand Store to find hidden foamcore cutouts of Batman. If you find them all, you may walk away with the fantastic Batman Movie accessory pack. It contains a Batman minifig (as most of the sets do), a bat signal model, a poster and some stickers. You don't even have to spend any money, which you must agree is pretty awesome.

So what are you waiting for? Get going! Keep in mind though, all stores may not have this event set up just yet. Best of luck... and speaking of TLBM polybags, stay tuned for a review of 30524 The Mini Batwing.

Did you really need to point out that you hadn't written for something like 9 days over a holiday period?
Interesting article, just the first paragraph was un needed.

^ Hey, I had plenty of time to make articles during the holiday period, I just didn't! And it IS noteworthy, since I usually post something at least once a day, if not every couple or few days. Nine or so is very long for me. Brickset is practically my online home.

I will remove the fact, though, if it's bothersome.

My local Lego store isn't running this promotion yet. I hope they start soon enough.

I got one, hopefully more soon.

Is there a known age restriction on the TLBM bag? I'm 22 with no kids and I've had to shy away from some of the events at my local store due to age restrictions already haha

This is really cool. I wish I lived near a LEGO store. I picked up the polybag 30522 Batman in the Phantom Zone yesterday at Target. I found it with the Valentine's Day candy and cards. Weird!

Some Barnes & Noble stores in the U.S. are doing a Lego Batman event as well in February and March. The prize is...trading cards. Whether there will be any take-home bricks remains to be seen.

How do you check if your Lego Store has this?

By in United Kingdom,

Will this promotion be running in the UK? If so, when?

@M.Boss Every LEGO Store has this. These events and giveaways are on the store calendars they give out, which are the same for all stores.

They didn't have them at my closest store yet. They also didn't have the Valentine vignette. Maybe next week.

By in Canada,

Just called up my local Lego store. They're only giving them out to kids. Oh well. . .

I found Batman in the Phantom zone at Target but decided not to get it. I bought Ultimate Lance for 50% off instead.

The manager at my local store said the promotion was only available to kids up to age 14... might try near the end of the promotion

These will end up in huge quantities on eBay, likely at $8-10 a pop, given this info.

Bricks - thanks I didn't expect or require you to change your first paragraph. I didn't say you didn't have time to write something but 9 days, especially over a holiday period when people are off work, is not an exceptionally long time away.

Everything is awesome, except if there are no Lego stores in Puerto Rico.

Anyone interested, they did this at the Orlando Disney Springs store. There are 4 "hidden" "search & find" batman cutouts in various displays around the store. Let associate know you found all 4 to get this. At time I went, there was no age restriction.

I went to my local Lego store in the US and it was 8 of the little circular cutouts you had to find. No age restrictions though

Going to my local-ish Lego store today. Wish me luck!

So, at my store, you had to find eight Batman minfigures hidden throughout the store. And I don't believe there is an age limit, as I saw one being handed out to an adult. And both my brother and I got one! The poly bag is very nice. The Batman figure is great, and it's my first time getting the new utility belt, as well as the new cape design, so that makes me love it even more. The Bat-signal is a nice build, with some neat parts, which includes a printed 2x2 round yellow plate with a bat on it. I expected it to be a sticker, but I was nicely surprised. The sticker sheet is nice, and the poster is pretty cool. Over all, a very good little polybag!

Does anyone know if the UK stores doing something similar? Or is this just US at the moment?

By in United States,

It says just North America so I'm assuming just in the US for now
