Exclusive Clay minifigure with NEXO Knights Character Encyclopedia

The LEGO NEXO Knights Character Encyclopedia has officially been revealed.
Perhaps the most interesting new announcement regarding it is the new Clay minifigure included. This one is halfway turned to stone! While I'm not certain of how significant this variant is (I need to catch up on the show :-) ), he indeed looks cool and may well cause fans to purchase the book! A full stone variant appears in 70356 The Stone Colossus of Ultimate Destruction.

Is this the first of the Nexo Knights to get a minifig with a hairpiece rather than a helmet*? In any case, I hope this means that Macy and Aaron get to join in the hat-free fun at some point.
* OK there were the keychains last year, but they have a pin through the head, which is… off-putting.
I'd like to see that sword up closer. Looks like a new part there, maybe?
I'm amazed that Nexo Knights has produced sufficient characters to warrant its' own Character Encyclopedia!
@ZeeBricks I thought so too, but if you click "revealed" it turns out it's that axle to bar connector
Like LegoSolo77 I'm a bit surprised that NEXO Knights warrants a full character encyclopedia. Having said that I look forward to getting a copy of it for my oldest son. It has grown on me. It's a neat series and I hope it makes the cut for another year or two.
Seems awesome , although I would of preferred a face that was half stone half human !

I absolutely love the black guy with the wings on the cover. Almost bought the set he's in from TRU today as it was a third off. Couldn't quite pull the trigger. Regretting it a little bit now.

Wow, and a hefty volume it is! Not a fan of the range myself, but I am happy for Lego that the theme is doing well. It has given us some excellent new parts as well.
@Clone Commander stone actually it seems like he has two face expressions. If you read this part it says

When I read claymore sword the thing that pops up in my mind is Loz Botw.
It would have been great with a dual molded hair...
