I thought I bought two of these when they came out, just so I have a spare lion shield.

I absolutely loved the Royal Knights, think I might have to get it all out and make it up.
Isn't it about time they brought out a new traditional castle theme??

Good this one came up! I own this one, but wasn't on my 'owned' list yet. I really liked those crossbows. I think I don't have the torso anymore, there are at least some cracks in the arms.

Waiting for Lego for coming back to Classic Castle theme!!

Those big boat pieces are really handy for making adorable rafts like this.

I think I might’ve had this one? Can’t remember. The only Royal Knights sets I had that I still have a particularly clear memory of were the King’s Carriage and the Royal Drawbridge. And I know in 1996 the main sets occupying my interest were Aquazone, Time Cruisers, Exploriens, and Western — the new Dark Forest sets, despite being available in my country and being advertised heavily in the LEGO Mania Magazine, did little to hold my interest in the Castle theme. The next year, of course, Fright Knights got me excited for castles all over again.

While there’s nothing super thrilling about this small set, the idea of boats in Castle is always a nice change of pace from scenarios set on land. It’s a shame Nexo Knights didn’t have any boats, especially since LEGO has gotten so great at boat design and Nexo Knights had so many great wedge parts to choose from for the bow. Maybe someday I can MOC a Nexo Knights boat or even a hovercraft!
