I love these little sets

By in Australia,

This is, I think, the oldest set in my own collection. I don't think the stickers lasted, but I definitely still have this guy driving around in my Lego city.

By in United States,

I absolutely love the highway maintenance logo. Definitely one they should bring back, or at least pay homage to in a City set.

By in Australia,

This was one of my last "Town sets" before my dark age, plus it was the first one with big tyres :). I'm doing a re-sort at the moment and the blue bucket is this weekend. I'll be interested to see if the stickers are in tact.

Thanks for doing these random sets each day guys. It is always great to see an old set I do have, but more so how many others have them as well. :)

I had this set as a kid; loved it

By in Germany,

Great to see the "Kraftwerk Autobahn Record Delivery Truck" at the same day I will attend one of the rare Kraftwerk live concerts.

By in Germany,

Funfact: That's a slightly elongated German Autobahn sign. Interesting to see it as part of an internationally sold LEGO set.

By in Finland,

@HeroBricks1976, don't be so hasty with your funfact. :) I believe that sign is or has been in use in several European countries, including Finland at least and probably Denmark too, signifying expressway/freeway/motorway. Since LEGO is Danish, they probably just included their own familiar sign, and Germany just happened to be one of the countries with the same sign in use. So it probably has nothing to do with Germany in particular.

I vaguely remember how some early LDraw part library had an uncertain description for pieces with that sign print, saying something like "with a road block? pattern" or something. If that was written by an American, apparently they don't have such a sign in USA since he didn't recognize it. :)

By in United Kingdom,

If I recall correctly, this is the first LEGOland Town set I ever had. :)

Wow, the pang of nostalgia when I saw this! It never ceases to amaze me how well I can remember the build and feel of a set I had as a kid just from seeing a picture of it on here. A great little City set which I remember very fondly.

By in Netherlands,

Same sign is used in The Netherlands. Great little set.

By in United Kingdom,

Got this for a Christmas present the year it came out.
Still one of my favourite sets and minifigs today.

LSWFan, you're spot on, I get the same twinge. Powerful memories indeed.

By in United Kingdom,

Had this one. One of my first vehicles with chunky tyres

By in United States,

Just got this set at a flea market in Leeuwarden. Paid like 5 euros and all of the stickers are intact. It is currently parked at the top of a MOC car dealership. :)

Are those studs on the wheels? I was aware there were 2x2 wheels with studs but not 1x1s. The only modern wheels with studs I know of are the 1960s Batmobile wheels.

I don't own it, I don't even remember it actually, but what an absolute classic look. Love it.

The sign is not used in the USA. Great set overall. Might pick. It up if I can find it cheap.

By in United States,

I wanna say I had this set, because those bricks at the front with the stripes strike me as something I remember seeing floating in my pile-o-LEGO whenever I had my sets in pieces.

But now I’m not so sure.

By in United States,

I didn't own this, but I'm pretty sure I had something very similar. I had always liked the big tires in these types of sets.

This is one of the very very few sets I have two of (got them for birthday parties when I was a kid) They came with two sets of sticker colors. So I put on one of each.

By in United States,

It seemed like there were a lot more smaller sets back in the good old days.

An all-time favorite of mine. Always loved the headlight stickers for some reason...i believe they're unique to this set. I now have a couple of them plus an unused sticker sheet which came with both clear and green highway symbols.
