Disappointing just spent £300 on LEGO in store and got some little Solo Mudtrooper

I bought a few of the Marvel ones when they were reduced just so I could get the baseplates. Just beware in case anyone else has this idea - the back of the baseplate is absolutely covered in industrial-strength glue attaching it to thick card. I spent forever rubbing and soaking them in nail varnish remover to try and get it off. I finally got a majority of it off, but the underside of the baseplate looks very ugly due to all the remaining glue and is still sticky enough to stick the baseplate to any surface it's put on. It's easy to damage/bend the baseplate during this process as well.

If anyone has any better ideas to get the glue off, I'd love to hear it.

I have gathered 8 Lego display cases (black with Trans-clear cells) to display all my favorite SW minifigs and must admit that, but for the price which is a bit high for what it is, stacked on each other the result is pretty satisfying. I have two piles of four, it looks good on display on a dedicated shelf, sorted by episode.

Are the brick supports stuck to the plate or removeable?

I like the minifig display frames in principle. However, the theme of minifigures I’m most passionate about collecting and would be most interested in displaying is Ninjago. And there are loads of Ninjago characters who would have a hard time fitting this frame either by virtue of needing a display solution with more depth (Serpentine generals), height (Nadakhan), or height, width, AND depth (Dogshank). As of yet I have not found a display solution versatile enough for these needs.

@yorick I think it’s the hairpiece from the Harry Potter minifigures series (Prof Flitwick), but in a different colour.

@Jdm - all the bricks are loose in a separate baggy.

Is that printed tile with the Lego logo fixed to the baseplate, or a separate element?

The piece count says 55, but I'm only coming up with 37-38 looking at the picture. (2 per stand, 16x2=32, + 5 for minifig, + 1 for backer/frame [if it's counted])
Is it possible that there are 18 more pieces in the set?? This means there will be enough pieces to put 25 minifigs total in the frame?

I have purchased a couple of these with the Batman Movie branding . . . I think they work well and look nice. I'm always struggling with how to display my CMF series and I appreciate options like these.

I find these frames to be a great way to display your minifig collection, but I have no need for them. When we moved into our current house, the finished basement (which is our LEGO room) had these two 36"x36" framed pegboards which were permanently affixed to the wall. I didn't need pegboard, so I bought a bunch of Peel 'n Stick Baseplates from CreativeQT and adhered them to the pegboards to transform them into "studboards" which I use to display my minifigs. I generally stay away from "compatible with LEGO" products, but in this case, I felt that it was okay to use them for a "handyman project". I stick the 3x4 minifig bases in between the studs on the wall (I think this technique is called pony ear?) and I have a row for each series. It doesn't work well for minifigs that have tails or which are jumping out of cakes and whatnot, but for the most part it looks fantastic. The only reason I would get this set is for the exclusive minifig, who would look great on my beach!

I keep my CMFs and other loose minifigs separate in plastic Sterilite bins. One per theme, ie CMFs Series, TLBM, Harry Potter, LEGO Movie, etc. I haven't thought about displaying the minifigs before.

Up to now I have only bought a special frame once for the CMF series of the German National Football team. I have also bought two different sizes of Ikea Ribba frames as I wanted to try making display cases out of them, but didn't get around to doing so yet.

@bekuehn: As for the number of pieces in the set, I think it is
3 per base (x16 = 48) => bracket, sloped tile, 2x2 plate
5 for the Minifig
1 for the printed LEGO tile
1 for the baseplate

Voila, 55 pieces.

A nice freebie. Let's hope it finds its way to the Belgian Lego store unlike many of the recent ones.

My only problem with displays like this is:-

1. There is no cover for protection from dust and UV light
2. There are some figures in the CMF line that are deep (Medusa from S10 for example)

I love that pool float. Not enough to get me to spend $75 though. I'll wait for one of those gwp that is a little buildable set.

@brainslugged: Heck, your are so right. It's a real pain. I am really happy, that I only bought one of those Batman-frames for the plate - which was ultimately destroyed in the process of cleaning!!! Never ever buy one of those for getting the plate!

My brother and I have been putting off some purchases to take advantage of this promotion. My plan is to display a random assortment of Minifigs that either don't make any sense being in our town (Simpsons characters, etc.) or ones that would be duplicates in town.
I wouldn't consider this a part of any system to display CMFs, as there are just too many and this frame doesn't fit enough. For me, it's just a nice, one-off GWP.
I also really want the Minifig that comes with it. He's sweet!

My 4 year old will love this! One Christmas present fixed! ;-) Beach minifigure, something he can display in his room with his figures (which tend not to be cmf). :)

I want minifig storage that doesn't require the legs of the 'fig to me connected to a brick or plate. I got many minifigs (monstly licensed ones) with cracks in their lower leg, rending them with inferior cluth power.

I bought the Marvel version of this reduced after last Christmas.

It's good, but not dense enough, so I fitted another 16 minifigs without it looking too overcrowded.

to those trying to remove the baseplate - not sure if it'll work on Lego but try this stuff called Goo Gone. It's at most stores. It takes glues off (let it sit for a while first) while maintaining the integrity of surface. i've used it on plastics before to get stickers and other glues off of different surfaces.

Yeah, not much interested in something that will be a pain to keep dust free. Like the figure though, so I will likely find something to buy to get one.
